    Thank you RUclips suggestions... did this series continue? It's great. I love playing the Petrov because it seems like a lot of low rated e4 players expect Spanish or Italian and really have to think hard on a Petrov. Black gains a lot of time in blitz. But so far I have only played Stafford Gambit against knight takes, and only played the center fork after Nc3 and Bc4, and after Nc3 Bb5 I just improvise as best I can :). It is really cool to see another idea in the Petrov that will also make white think, or, if they are expect black to fall into the discovered check trap, to have a way to surprise them.

    Checked the lichess db for 2000+ Blitz and slower (no Bullet), black is doing quite well after 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nf6 3. Nxe5 Nxe4 4. Qe2 Qe7
    53% wins for black versus 38% wins for white. Nevermind opening theory, empirically 3... Nxe4 is the best move! Below the GM level anyway, and diminishing returns if you keep playing this against the same opponents. The database suggests 6. f4 might be an improvement for white but it's rarely played. White's real problem after
    1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nf6 3. Nxe5 Nxe4 4. Qe2 Qe7
    5. Qxe4 d6 6. d4 dxe5 7. dxe5 Nc6
    is that 8. Nc3 is only the fourth most common move. If white finds that, the percentages are 56% white wins versus 32% black wins, otherwise black has the (empirical) edge.

    At 12:38 after fxe5;Rhe1 ,black may have a tempo move in ...Bg4 and then he can he can play exf4 as his rook is now defended. fxe5 instead of Rhe1 could be good. If ..Bg4 then Rde1 is possible.

    Stockfish: +0.3
    ???

    • @KoruGo
      @KoruGo 3 года назад

      Stockfish doesn't consider the human side, it's +0.3 only if everyone plays the best moves, for the position there, it is easier to navigate white's position than black's.

    Nice video. although I prefer the lines recommended by Logozar in his e4 book. The traps you showed, I dont think players above 1700 will fall for that. and I beleive black will be able to neutralize the position if the traps dont work. I would rather play for positional advantage than traps. But very informative video.
