For me, a truly great musician starts with being a great human being and from what I can tell, John is much more than just a virtuoso guitarist, he's a humble guy with a sense of humor and a heart for his fellow man, how many people like this help out homeless people, the world of music is a better place because of people like this man, "John 5" 🤘 and "the Creatures" 👍
I remember when he joined MM, thinking "This guy is WAYYYYY too good for this band and I'm not talking about his guitar skills." I'm so glad that he went out and found his way and continues to do what he loves every day of his life. He deserves it.
You're dreamin. Michael Angelo Batio kicks ass when it comes to Medleys. Jake E Lee is on EVH level. He plays with 5 fingers on the fretboard. John 5 would bow down to Jake right now!
He's proof that the tone is in your hands. He's got a good sounding guitar through a good sounding, gritty amp, and had tones similar to EVH, Mic Mars, Jimmy Page, and Billy Gibbons.
Total class act, you bring all the aspects of having fun and rock and rolling, your neither here nor there, your it John 5 and the creatures, unbelievable skills and talent, thanks brothers.
I really enjoyed interacting with John 5 and 98 in Winston-Salem. Great guy super humble came off as the epitome of what you wish every musician would be 👍
John is a great guy. A Michigan boy. Saw him playing at a little bowling alley in Ventura, CA, signed my John 5 Tele. Rapped about Michigan. What a humble dude.
I love how much fun he has on stage playing just at small clubs and dive bars. It’s awesome. Can tell he just loves to play. I’ve heard he’s one of the nicest guys in the biz as well. Also, just realized his bassist has a Nightwish concert t-shirt on which is awesome as well.
The Creatures are on another level! I have a thing for 3 pieces, they tend to be phenomenal. And yes, John 5 and the Creatures are that. I saw them in NH, front row, oh my goodness! The most fun/ best show I have been to.
What a true homage to mick mars I have no doubt John will kill it on the crue tour John 5 is not only an exceptional guitarist but person to boot Long live the crue
I like John he has definitely put his time in,and can relate to the audience on a real human level,a great musician that is sometimes overlooked. This artist isent goin anywhere. Keep on rockin john.peace.
For me, it was always David Gilmour as my favourite guitarist, but John 5 is right up there with Mr. Gilmour! Wow! What a player and such a great guy! 🙏👍
When playing the guitar is pure fun the best musical moments happen. Sending the signal from brain to the fingers is practicing and when you get that down, it's all about "the feel" and many players don't get there. John hits the mark for me.
@@TheSaintedOne yet when people discuss best rock guitarists, his name is rarely in the conversation. But he can play anything. Name a genre, he can play it and play it with an effortless style. It might have been fairly early in the show, I dunno. Its common practice to play most stuff a bit slow do to nerves (Some ppl wig out & 'adrena-dump') because nervous musicians rush the meter & fluxuate. Slower usually gets ppl warmed up and relaxed. So after a song or 2 the rest of the time everyones relaxed, warm & tuned in, if ya know what I mean 🤏🎩😉🤟 8.7.8üşćh
And this is why Johnny 5 is filling in for Mick Mars on the European tour next year!!! On a side note, maybe it's just because of the recording with a phone and/or being up and off to the side, but the drums sounded like shit in this video. I hope for those who were there it sounded better than on this video did.
@@USER7817Tanzie To me that would only make sense if the cabs themselves were dummy and everybody is playing through the pa. Which could be the case. But it seems like a flat screen in front of your speakers would muffle the sound bad. I don’t know.
@@allenmitchell09 they're dummy cabs with just the video screens. John has his JCM800 on his left side. The bass player's amp and cab are behind his screen cab. J5's Marshall is exposed so he can fiddle with the levels during the show. That last part is my best guess.

Arguably the best guitarist on the planet right now

Not to mention Steve Vai and his Hydra Guitar. Playing 3 guitars at once!! And Dave Mustaine is a Guitar God. So forget about John 5. He's ok.
@@hellboundrubber4448 You forgot Lil Wayne.
Don't forget Guthrie Govan.
There is an "old Dinosaur" out there named Jeff Beck that might throw a monkey wrench in your argument !
John 5 could fill in for any guitarist in any band any day. Damn, just wow.
Crazy to see your comment the day Mick retires and John is joining the Crue.
@@chrisfoster9080 You beat me to the Mick comment!. If anyone could do the songs justice and play Mick's songs it's John!..

About 20 miles from Pittsburgh.
That's probably because he chooses to.
