How a situation starts does matter in a courtroom, the problems start when you have a bench trial with no lawyer. I turned down a bench trial *with* a lawyer because the judge was angry that day and I didn't trust him to be honest, objective and to not punish me for the prosecution dropping the case due to no actual evidence. You do get a lawyer for assistance, aka legal representation on your behalf, when you represent yourself. It's illegal not to. Who do you think was talking to him? What law school did you graduate from that taught you to do something illegal in the courtroom, when it's clearly laid out that you do get a lawyer for assistance and always has been. Any law book will get you compensation for their failure. Every law student would. You physically watched his lawyer speak to him. Congratulations! You get all of your money back and the school wouldn't make it up the courthouse stairs to argue it.

During this trial I had questions about why the victim was emptying her purse in a stranger’s house and pulling out her gun that according to witnesses it was in a holster but no one ever stated how, during the struggle it came out of the holster although he stated he never saw it in a holster. I’m under the belief that the victim pulled this gun out to intimidate him and he responded by grabbing the gun and the mayhem began. I’m ve been in many life threatening situations and I’ve never seen anyone empty out a purse and pull out a gun in a total stranger’s house. I think he got the upper hand in an unfortunate situation and that witnesses corroborated their stories before being interviewed by the detectives and that he acted in bad faith by grabbing that purse afterwards. One witness testified that he came in the back room asking for help. Perps generally don’t ask for help although it has happened but not in a situation where the incident is occurring
