@@anacecherry i have to correct your comment. Allegedly Ikbal was his ex girlfriend and Ayşenur (the girl he murdered in her house) was his current gf. Appearently ikbal and semih had an history but they broke up but that didnt stop him to disturb her. She and her family reported him before but as expected nothing happened. And semih's family told them to move another city because their son is obsessed with their daughter. They couldnt move but ikbal left school and continued her education online. She never left home alone because she knew a psychopath wants to murder her but no one could've done anything about it.
Semih was hella obsessed with Ikbal, which resulted in her having to drop out of school and not being able to leave her home all alone (however, it doesnt make sense as to why she was outside all alone on the day she got murdered). This went on for 4-5 years if im not wrong. Semih even got sued by Ikbals family, since he didnt stop all the stalking and trying to approach her, but nothing came out of it. So in order for Ikbals family to let her go out alone in safety, he started dating Ayşenur a year ago and tried to convince Ikbals family that he was done with Ikbal and didnt have or want to have anything to do with their daughter anymore. The family wasnt convined. So basically, Ikbal and Semih used to be a "thing"/couple for a while years ago, but then he started dating Ayşenur and used her.
It’s the first time I’m watching one of your videos (I was just summoned as a Turk here) and I really wanted to thank you for making a video about these incidents. As a girl myself I am not feeling safe anymore, I don’t even know if the police or my family could help me if something like that happens to me. The government doesn’t cares about us. I am a person who saw the earthquake and I unfortunately can say that they even managed to get some politics into that accident (like sending help to the cities who mostly voted for them faster etc.). They practically left us to die. I’m furious okay? Because even now there are people in my city that are struggling to rebuilding their life after the earthquake. My friends died because they were f*cking late that night in the freezing cold. And now the women are dying everyday because of some sick people. I can’t take it anymore but I don’t know what to do as a teenager myself.

Relax, you are not at risk from getting murdered randomly in Turkey. It says 33 woman were murdered in August, comparison: In the USA 350 women are murdered every single month. Would you be afraid to go the US because of this? Every femicide, while extremely tragic of course!!, is massively overblown on social media. Also, almost all of those 33 murderes are done by family or husband. So unless you have a pschopathic boyfriend or husband, you are not in danger in Turkey. Men are not randomly killing women there

Wow, as a Turkish person, this video was really embarrassing. And, as you mentioned in the video, old people think that Discord is literally spawn of devil. On a news channel they talked about how when you access a discord server you would get in the dark web and play games like Blue Whale. THIS WAS ON NATIONAL TV! And the guy on TV who said this was introduced as an Expert in online matters. Yeah, there is no doubt that half the reason they banned Discord was to satisfy people over the age of 40.
Well, I am over 40 and I am using discord. I cant talk about everyone of my generation but it is not about age, it is more about education. There are younger people I know who believe in this stuff and it is worrying.

As a Turkish person living in Turkiye, i have to say you covered everything, and i mean EVERYTHING about this perfectly, i would never expect a forgein content creator to make a video about this and be THIS accurate. I couldnt explain to anyone the big picture of why turkey banned discord because its a messy web of events and things connecting to eachother, but you spent your time researching and putting them all together for the video it seems! Im very thankful to you for giving time and work to this, because i really needed a video like this to tell my friends why exactly it was banned while looking for tweets online to show them or remember everything myself. Our government is... quite incompetent to deal with stuff like this. The ban on instagram which happened like a month or two ago, was because our president of communications posted an instagram story condolancing the then killed HAMAS leader, and it was removed. And turkey banned instagram due to misinformation. They banned roblox for child safety, but in reality it is because a famous youtuber played roblox and it featured games like "escape from the tax man" while a nextbot of our president was chasing the players (there are a lot of taxes here). And as you said towards the end, them banning discord due to not being able to controll it as they please and spy on us makes perfect sense. I may have yapped a bit, and i apologize. But im just glad someone finally made a video about this and it couldnt have done better and more in-depth. Thank you NTTS! Greetings from Turkiye!
Government just lost track of everything. Shit's piling up and they have no idea what to do. They need to do better. The opposition isn't any good either.
I'm disgusted a video like this even needs to be made. Atatürk would've been horrified, I'm sure (and he's probably spinning in his grave so fast at what Erdogan is doing). Justice for Aysenur and Ikbal. Justice for all women.
We thank you for your support on this issue because no matter how much we have expressed these for years, we have never been able to make our voices heard.
There are men being executed in the middle of a street. There are men being shot while they work. Nobody talks about them. Nobody even knows about them. We all know only about the women because the news with the title "femicide" is apparently more important.
I like how Turkey says the evil gays are a threat to children and family values, and takes immediate action against them. However when people quite literally are directly attacking and harming children, it’s takes them years to do anything. Makes a whole lot of sense to me

complete propaganda and straw-manning, he kept bringing unrelated crimes that are common worldwide and in fact much more in west europe and US, then attribute it to anti-women rights.
The reason gay relationships don't fit Turkey's "family values" is because they aren't producing more people for the government to brainwash, work to death, and tax every breath they take. So what did they do? They removed protection from all women because gay women apparently aren't women and "abused" it to their advantage. Boils my blood how stupid it is. Nobody sane with the option of leaving the country would stay here.

Hello. As someone from Turkey, I want to clarify the events. Turkey is a country that is not free on the internet. The government does not censor what needs to be censored on the internet, but whatever they want to censor. The reason Twitter was closed during the earthquake was so that the images of the earthquake would not spread on the internet and the government would not be harmed. If you criticize the government on the internet, you will be sued because the government does not want to be harmed. Our government is so bad that instead of re-signing the Istanbul Convention to prevent femicides and preventing this, they want to make it seem like they have solved the problem by shutting down older people's Discord. Just today, 23.10.2024, there was a terrorist attack in the capital of Turkey and an immediate news broadcast ban was imposed, the reason being that this attack would be less heard and the government would not be harmed. If you have any questions, I can answer them.

Edit: I’ve seen someone blame our culture for this in the comments, it’s not our culture you’re clearly on something
Edit 2: A lot of people have a misconception about our government in the replies, please do you research and come back
the worst part is that the people who know how to buy government record definitely know how to use a VPN, and they can always extort people better if others think just being on discord is now evil so you would be shunned as evil if anyone without a brain knew, and that can be easily used as a threat
