Thank you, I really admired these paintings before but now I just fall in love with Gericault, when I knew the story behind his paintings. Perfect video!❤
Géricault understood horses beautifully as well. He clearly was an empathetic man..the horses he painted have their spirit so well captured, freely painted and beautifully wild...Also extremely accurately portrayed anatomically. I much prefer him to Stubbs, the 'best' English horse painter, because of the freer, swifter paint strokes.
imagine that being how they met. "hey uh, wtf you doin?" "huh? oh, me? i'm studying decaying bodys for my paintings" "yah know, it sounds ridiculous enough to be true, just don't touch them, ok?"
Love his work…I get the reasoning behind humanizing mentally ill-BUT……..That “child snatcher?” I got NO love for that cat. When he painted that FREAK, I hope ing it was JUSST before getting GUILLOTINED.

In some you see the wildness in their eyes, but in all their eyes you can see their deep sadness.

He already mentioned that it’s not well known which painting matches to which person. Chill out.
