Ever since we bought it, we are enjoying every bit of it. This is just awesome for winters here in kalimpong Darjeeling. Thinking of buying a hamam too.

Hi Russell Collins. I had a chat with your company personnel Mr. Tenzing I believe his name was. He was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the stove. I have been researching a lot about efficient stove and rocket mass stoves were the best candidates.it is great to know that you have manufactured one for easy installation and usage. I am very interested in promoting this stove. I am also dealing with yunca New Zealand heaters but since they cannot be used for cooking hence lesser appeal especially from the common people. Traditional bukharis emit a lot of smoke and are inefficient.
@@tseringarts7780 sorry I missed your response here, I am not often checking youtube comments. Please send an email to admin@himalayanrocketstove.com if you are still interested in follow up.
So, you are still in the design and testing phase of this stove? Is there a market in the U.S. in the future? I noticed the outside flue was only six or seven feet off the ground. Is this something possible with these stoves? Also, do these stove burn constant or is there a mass for the heat to absorb and slowly release?
We are in our 3rd year of sales in India and the general Himalayan region, with about 2000 units now in the field. We have not begun to export to the US as we have yet to find a suitable distributor to work with. The stove will work with about 2 lengths of pipe for demonstrations but we recommend about 4 lengths or more (3-4 feet each). These are a constant burn design, with no additional thermal mass other than the 50kg of steel in the body of the unit. You can see more about these on our FB page (.../himalayanrocketstove) or website (search for Himalayan Rocket Stove)
We find that all the houses we have installed in have enough air leakage to feed the airflow to the stove. If you have a particularly well sealed house, you might want to crack open a window in a nearby room by a small amount.
Do you have a community help program for the Himalayas? There is a seventeen household Buddhist Sherpa community farm that could really use this, thanks!
We don't have anything set in place, but send me an email with some more details and I will be happy to have a look and see what we can do. (russell@himalayanrocketstove.com)

Hi and thanks for your interest. Unfortunately this is not possible, as its a detailed manufacturing process that involves CNC Laser machinery and folding. We are trying to find a way to get stoves into Pakistan from India, or to set up manufacturing in Pakistan. If you have access to this kind of manufacturing capacity, then please send me an email on russell@himalayanrocketstove.com and we can try to work something out.

You can use either the door or the top hole (in the lower front section) to load wood, according to size and ease of angle for arranging the wood inside the combustion box.

Made of mild steel (HR) with side wall thickness at 1.6mm and top plate lower section 2+2mm and top lid upper section 3+2mm. So far this has shown to be durable in units that have had over 3 years usage. The internal components that experience the highest temps are made of SS310 rated for usage up to 1250C.
Not well unfortunately, sad the coal doesn't give off enough smoke for the secondary combustion to take place, so the whole benefit of using a rocket stove seems to be missed.
@@Rocketmandesigns if i leave the primary vent open all the way will it burn coal just to maintain an overnight burn. ? Won't need to to burn real hot .just to maintain the already heated room overnight? The vortex might not work due to the lack of smoke but the burn chamber should in theory burn the coal well? Or well enough anyway?
@@amoryblaine1102 we haven't tested it like that but for sure it might work. Definitely worth to try it and would be happy to hear from you what results you get
Traditional Himalayan combustion heaters are simple metal boxes (single chamber) that burn wood inefficiently and create lots of smoke. Our design merges the primary combustion chamber with pre-heated airflow that increases temps, then draws the hot gases into the secondary combustion chamber (vertical riser that is known as the rocket) where smoke in the hot gases are combusted more completely, creating additional heat with less smoke. We then use a complex heat trapping design with the exhaust gases (known as the Bell Effect) to radiate more heat to the room, and minimise the amount of heat lost to the exhaust process.
yes the body can get rust if the stove is not stored well due to moisture. However, if the stove is oiled before storage then it will remain rust free.
@@basikhan6651 unfortunately we are not able to ship across the India - Pakistan border due to politcal reasons, however we are now in the process of setting up a manufacturing operation in Pakistan. This will take a little time to get set up and running, but please send me an email to admin@himalayanrocketstove.com and I will connect you to the local partner.
