I was lucky enough to see them in concert at a fairly small venue. Amazing concert! Sometimes being older has benefits, for the example I saw so many of the best musicians in concert. Michael is so missed even after all this time.
ps. thanks for doing 'kiss the dirt'. they were all suffering from extreme food poisoning for this one, and it can be seen quite clearly on some of them. love this song. Have you done 'what I say'? people don't realize also that they have some songs that are absolutely beautiful. ' burn for you'. thanks again.
One of the great things about Michael as a performer was that it didn't matter what style of music he was performing; he was 100% committed and convincing whilst doing it. Such a loss.
Michael is mesmerising, no matter what he does, and his voice is a gift, no matter what he sings, but when he sings real low and deep like that, makes me feel a certain kind of way, you know what I mean? I'm pretty sure you do, lol. Thank you for this, you put me in a good mood as usual.
You could never do too much INXS for my taste! And yes, Michael’s hair was definitely “serving.” So much so that when I was 13 in ‘88 and the Kick album had come out, he became my #hairgoals. (I’m a girl, btw.) I graduated out of that big teased hair metal look, with the huge teased bangs and into hair that looked like Michael’s but longer, when most of the girls at school were still rocking the huge bangs coated in aqua net 5-6 years later. ❤️
Please listen to Max Q’s ‘Way of the World’ and ‘Sometimes’ Max Q was a non INXS side project that Michael Hutchence did with other Australian musicians in 1989 (In between 1988 when they were touring for the KICK Album (1987) and a year before they came back together for the X album (1990)) And also listen to his song Slide Away from his album that was released after his death it features Bono of U2 and also listen to his cover of the Eric Burdon and War song ‘Spill the Wine’ it’s great
Out of everything Michael did, Max Q is my favorite. I think Max Q was so dynamic and dramatic compared to INXS. It showcases Michael's vocal so much more.
@@trexpixx4590 Way of the World alone is amazing It sucks he didn’t do it with INXS and I only say that because that way it would have reached a larger audience But honestly Max Q is incredible and I wish they’d re-release their album
I forgot to mention the story behind “Elegantly Wasted”. Michael was out clubbing with his BFF Bono and others. There was a conversation about the party lifestyle and the people that surround it, and maybe it is not the Goodlife. After the conversation about the Goodlife, Bono said Michael scribbled “Elegantly Wasted” on a cocktail napkin and turned it into a song. This is what the song was about and was on the original 1.0 web. This story has changed and morphed over the years because the Liam Gallagher incident, that story has been plastered all over the current web now.
Saw them in Aug of '84 in Houston, then in late '93 in West Palm Beach 🏖️ great shows both, 1st was in a small club which was great, days gone by but not forgotten
Is it just me or is Michael just as hot w/his dark straight hair?! I'm glad someone finally reacted to Kiss the Dirt. Pancake, I know you did a full album reaction to Kick and X. You should do one for Listen Like Thieves. It's like a one, two three punch w/What You Need, Listen Like Thieves (The title track) and Kiss the Dirt (Falling Down the Mountain). When I heard it back in 1986, I thought, if their next album is half as good as this one, they're going to be huge. Little did I know Kick was coming. That even blew my mind and, I was huge fan already. In the next set of videos, you should see Listen Like Thieves. Think of Mad Max, Michael Hutchence and leather. Get that picture and hang on to it😍😍 My favorite out of the bunch is Strangest Party (These Are The Times). It's in my top ten of favorite INXS songs. I bought the greatest hits CD just for that song. Keep up the work w/INXS👌
Glad you liked 'Original Sin'. It's one of their best songs (their best, IMO), and, oddly, their only single to reach #1 in Australia. It should have been an international hit.
It hit number 1 in France INXS is the band that should have had more number 1’s It’s amazing that on the US Billboard Hot 100 both Bruce Springsteen and INXS didn’t have have more number 1’s with Springsteen never having had a number 1 and INXS just having one with Need You Tonight
Elegantly Wasted is a great song but what kind of throws a shadow over it is realizing that was the title track of their last album that had just been released in ‘97 a few months before Michael killed himself that November, in large part due to the drugs he had gotten into particularly heavily with his toxic significant other.
Seeing 4 INXS videos in a row like that was a big reminder of how good they were. Michael's vocals on The Strangest Party are sublime. He was a baritone but his high notes were gorgeous. Kiss the Dirt just reminds me of summertime in Australia in the 80s. Great times. Burn for you is another good video from that time. Thanks so much!!
Awesome! Love INXS, thanks for getting back to them. Has anyone told you the 'better than Oasis' story? (they sing that instead of 'Elegantly Wasted' at parts in that song.
INXS are my favourite band. I've seen them in concert 5 times. Once with Michael, then after he died, once with Jon Stevens (lead singer of Australian band Noiseworks), twice with J.D. Fortune (winner of INXS lead singer tv competition "Rockstar") and last with Ciaran Gribbin (final lead singer before the band retired from touring). I've also met the band (minus Michael), and Tim (lead guitar/rock god) who is my favourite member gave me his entry pass to get into their concert after-party.
My gawd he was a sexy man. He's amazing to watch live. Check out Never Tear Us Apart on Later with Jools Holland 1994. Just him sitting on a piano singing. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Falling Down song. This is one of the many legendary songs that I got to hear for the first time in 2002-2003 thanks to the radio in the game GTA Vice City. Hits of the 80s, something unbelievable. I'm so glad I didn't miss the release of Vice City even though I was 12 years old at the time.
Could not choose four better songs/videos from INXS (mainly because all their stuff is excellent), however so glad you loved Elegantly Wasted, definitely one of my favourite tracks from INXS, alongside the dripping sexiness Michael Hutchence portrays in that confidently superb music video. *Kiss the Dirt (Falling Down a Mountain)* is very much a personally, sentimental song in regards to a very important person that I had the joy of experiencing before he passed away... that track will inevitably be a bittersweet reminder; one that I would rather have than suppress. At any rate, without getting too caught up in emotionality, a genuine thank you Bryson for uploading this entertaining, amazing reaction video. Can never go wrong with INXS! 🙂
I concur with Rebecca below PanMarsh. I was lucky to see INXS in a relatively small venue in LA. Don't be jealous but he was wearing a streamlined army green jumpsuit with that should length curly mane
i did see them twice, great live, underrated by so many so called music 'afficionados', great musicians and Michael had one of the most beautiful sensual voice in rock. or in music. period. thank you so much!!!
Hey B, long time no talk to. 😊 You got me today! I have no recollection of ever hearing that last song. No idea where it comes from. I think my INXS fan club card might get revoked! 😪 Loved all four. Of course being an 80s child, I have a lot of nostalgia for the first two. Completely recall being freaked out by the masks and balloons as a teen, so I lmao when you commented on those. Kiss the Dirt is just such an 80s Aussie INXS vibe. It will always have a special place in my heart. What can I say about Elegantly Wasted? Only one thing; Ahhh ahhh, we're better than Oasis! Nuff Said. Next I recommend The Gift, Beautiful Girl, and By My Side. Hope you're doing great!
great group choice and reaction but you left out their 2 best songs they created , new sensation and i need you tonight (full version ) please check those out if you havent already
Hi, I always enjoy your INXS reactions and I know you usually just react to music videos but having just watched this I am wondering if you watch Euphoria? If not maybe you could react to the Cal and Derek scenes which feature a couple of INXS classics. If you have seen it what did you think?
I love Original Sin....I love Inxs since this song....Michael' s voice sound so rock!!! One of my favourite rock singers with Axl Rose, Kurt Cobain, Ian Astbury....

Michael was truly a gifted artist. He is missed. The band was always one to watch on MTV years ago . Wonderful group. Thanks Bryson! 💕
