I have managed to make every single choice wrong entire game. Chopped Hakon to bits cuz I hate betrayers. I let Frank die. And I chose to save Lawan instead of the city. Normally Aiden leaves with Hakon/Lawan or by himself for greater good. In my worst possible ending, my Aiden was like "well, one place destroyed, it's time for another."

I have choosen the pk because choosing the survivors would have led to a technological stagnation and even to an eventual extinction of humanity in villedor. My reasoning behind this is that even though the survivors have two "inventors" they are only recycling old things and eventually without securing the city from the infected they will run out of resources quicker only being able to scavange from easily accessable places, not being able to do larger scale manifacturing, stripping down of useless buildings, building of larger scale projects not being able create a reliable education system or even to preserve knowledge so it would mean a new intelectual dark age, and not even having a judicial system, they are basically nomads and nomad civilization have been shown to techologically stagnate on their own. The Only way for humanity to survive and have a bright future is to expand outward from villedor and to secure lands from the infected and I just cannot see the survivors do that.

You talk about getting mauled by the volatiles and brigands. First of all do you think that in order to survive your group must be crazily militarized otherwise it's forceless? There should be a sustainable force to defend civilians WHICH SURVIVORS DO POSESS, because they don't need a peacekeeper army. Second of all do you mentioned volatiles - do you actually think PKs fight off volatiles? Nobody fights off volatiles and that's the whole point of the night. You have UV lights just to save yourself from them. Pks got mauled in Old Villedor because of no UV lights, I guess being militarized didn't really help. Third of all 10:1 soldier to farmer type of ratio is a sure USSR scenario with inhuman casualties from starving them to death. Pks are doomed to kill the city from their dumb militarized imbalance that you support and that survivors have. Fourth of all bandits and brigands - In the survivor ending their flags are everywhere meaning survivors and nightrunners completely dominated the city, MEANING they posess a very strong force, MEANING brigands and bandints will NEVER be a problem. And finally the scammers - it is very dumb to think that they will be only present in a Survivor's version.

Fully agree with you, the survivor introduction really makes them feel like complete incompetent assholes while PK at first feels like an actual force, something that wants to achieve something. Nothing in the first half of the game indicates that the PK would be the bad ending. The Bazaar morons actually bomb the biggest windmill in the city, god only knows how many lives that would cost. But its okay, they have generators. Years of building, and massive amount of energy, gone, just because they have more brainrot than the zombies.
If survivors are supposed to be the good guys maybe they shouldn't portray them like complete scum. Even the second part of the game doesn't make that feel any better. Frank refuses to help you outright but still wants the tower even though just moments before PK save your life from boomers. The colonel does nothing to contact you expect maybe a shady deal with an exhibitionist. I guess they wanted to go with the whole "no bad option, everything sucks" but then backed out at the end.
The PKs are tyrannical, worse, they are dumb tyrannical. The worst kind. But you only see that in the credit scene. Before that there are some that are assholes, some that are kind and really want to help. Only if you go survivor do you see them be "evil" and at that point it kinda makes sense as your side kinda bombed a vital resource. So with what the game shows me. I haven't played this game yet (but soon), but just gonna say that the ending seems to be only aiming for the survivor faction, i was hoping that the game was supporting the idea of "all the ending is a neutral ending". Like make the players say "hmmm, i prefer the .... ending". but instead they prefer the obvious good ending and the obvious bad ending route. They should've make all the ending neutral, but...then again if there will be any DL 3 or dlc, the continuation of the story will be problematic, because the develepor has too choose wich ending is canon.

But it isn't. Night runners will fall again, all that survivors do is complain and leech off of them. Peacekeepers actually want to defend the city and protect the people of it, even when walking by peacekeeper troops in game sometimes you can hear them make comments about saving someone's from the bazaar life and them thanking them and also them wishing for peace with the bazaar. The bazaar in the first place was only attacked because of the attack on the windmill. The peacekeepers have the right idea for the rebuilding of society. I will say this: Despite the initial "bad" appearance of the PK ending, they show people largely gathering on the streets securely/safely and mention that only 6 people died the previous night (implied to have been executed for stealing water). While the Renegades seem to have outright cleared the streets enough that it's safe for a entire crowd to gather/protest at NIGHT (which is insane in this setting), yet 40 are said to have died during a riot over rations. Then finally the Survivors, who seem to be making zero progress with fixing the city and while opening a soup kitchen for the hungry, still say "many" people died the previous night.
This implies to me that while the PK are a more authoritarian and outwardly scary/bad looking choice, they ultimately ARE the ones actually making a difference and ensuring humanities survival. While the Renegades are even moreso effective at it, but completely brutal and not worried about the good of the people. With finally the Survivors being a faction made up of those people on Facebook who'll say "Thoughts and prayers" when something goes wrong, but won't actively make an effort to help unless it either directly benefits themselves or makes them feel better about doing it (which is kind of consistent with how almost every Survivor mission/interaction is them largely either getting revenge or cheating/stealing from each other).

Right. Sophie tells us her mother was a great leader in one breath and that she lost dozens of people every day in the next. It seems like people are completely fooled by the atmosphere and music that plays in a single cut scene of these endings and forget about the last 60 hours of watching the survivors lie, cheat, steal, abandon and outright murder each other over scraps. A soup kitchen?! Post apocalyptic villador is no place for dead weight who eat all your rations and contribute nothing positive to the situation. This is hardly a wonderful ending. The survivors have no future, despite how pleasant the music is. They are zombie food. The survivors already had a strong mafia presence, its only a matter of time before they take over. 20 years from now the survivor ending will actually be the renegade ending. Damn this game. Every option is just distasteful. I'm not in love with the peacekeepers but they have a much better chance of actually rebuilding society.

The Peacekeepers are the answer in my opinion. The Survivors are the definition of the “Modern Dark Age”. How they dealt with Aiden in the beginning further expands on it doubled with their inability to let people explain themselves before either (A) Hanging them publicly or (B) holding them at Knifepoint. They’re own leader betrayed and wouldn’t stand on his own two feet for the better of his people. In a world where people slaughter others for basics to survive you need a presence of Law and Justice. The PK are fighting for the future of Villedor and it’s people and the only ones who can’t see that are the Survivors. The PK are bringing back one of the Old World’s most recognized and respected strengths while reinventing it to the best of their abilities. The minute Aiden walks into the Bazaar, they immediately want to hang him. Not a single person wanted to actually help him, except for Hakkon. Then, later, they immediately want to hang a guy because he sold someone poisoned water, which it turned out he didn't even know. The man in question was also a crook who bought water with flour mixed with bits of plastic. There's also Dredger(I think that's his name) who's pretty much a crime boss, but everyone seems fine with him. The Bazaar's leadership isn't even anything to brag about. There's Carl, a former priest whose turned away from God, and devoted his life to instead preach about how "everyone's his own man" while also being a massive hypocrite. And Sophie and Barney? Give me a break. Barney is a hot headed dip shit who got his friends killed(one of which was 16 btw) and continued to have this attitude towards Aiden. Sophie is at least more reasonable than her brother, but also thought that violence was the only answer. Her actions lead to so many people dying. Not only the PKs at the Checkpoint and the Windmill, but also her own people, like Alberto. At least Carl didn't want bloodshed.
And what's so great about the Survivors ending? The only good thing about it is nothing bad happens, and that's it. It's just "Oh we got a soup kitchen now!" The only thing bad about the PK ending is that they say that not only criminals will be killed, but also their families for some reason.
I hate bringing in politics to these kinds of videos, but the developers were pretty biased towards which faction is good or not.

Have better resources? All the PKs build is breweries cadet academies and smokehouses..
The survivors build MULTIPLE farms, schools, trading posts, ect. And you honestly think the PKs have more resources at the end? When people are stealing water and THEIR ENTIRE FAMILY hung for it?
Yea, strict rules make for an Authoritarian dystopia, that's the way society works..
And a faction hoarding supplies does not mean your entire society has more resources. It means only the highest in power has the most resources..

I never trusted the PKs, maybe some as individuals, but never the group as a whole. Their list of laws and rules with executable offenses is long and easy to infract. To rebuild a society it makes sense to sustain and build your community, not subjugate it into forced conformity.

Never trust any collective period, Aitor was a good man IMO as well as most of the Peace keepers that are on the ground fighting, but the PK were mostly just a means to an end for me, I wanted the survivors destroyed as a faction primarily due to how insufferable all of the characters aligned with them were (aside from Frank) the funny thing is even during a survivor aligned playthrough you wind up fighting and killing them more than anyone else.

I believe that The Free Folk/Survivors are the best ending, but the PKs are a better faction due to their law and order which is necessary for a safe and prosperous society. Especially with infected and Bandits killing everyone. Then when safety is secure, freedom and community can truly prosper.
I believe a fair balance of PK and Survivors (with Survivors being the slight majority of 4/7 districts) is the best solution.

Gonna have to play again and get a different ending (went peacekeepers most the time and then Juan path but fucked everything with the safe Lawan choice lol) but you can actually go neutral with the Districts. It's sad that you actually think safety is the priority over liberty.
This is why our current societies are spiraling downhill..
People care more about having an illusion of safety than they do about having any personal freedom or liberty.
I don't feel safe around the PKs, I feel like they will try to hang me the moment they get what they want out of me for being a theif because everything you pick up off the ground, or dead bodies, or chests, all of it doesn't belong to you.
Law and order is not necessary for prosperity and if anything tends to hinder it. It IS however necessary for the sheep being culled to THINK they're safe, when in reality they're now in more danger than they ever were.
