- Chicken a la King
Buttermilk Biscuit Ingredients:
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 cup cake flour
- 1 tsp. Sugar
- 2 tsps. Baking Powder
- 1/4 tsp. Baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. Salt
- 1/2 cup chilled butter
- 3/4 cup Buttermilk (milk+lemon juice/vinegar)
- egg
1. Sift together dry ingredients
2. Put in butter until mixture is coarse and crumbly
3. Stir in buttermilk by using fork until dough is formed
4. Transfer dough to a floured surface and pat into a circle, about half inch thick.
5. Separate into smaller circles
6. Brush top with egg wash
7. Bake in a preheated oven 400 to 425 Farenheit for 15 to 20 minutes or until done
Bechamel Sauce Ingredients:
- 3 Tbsp Flour
- 1 Tbsp Butter
- about 1 cup cream
Brown flour on low fire
1. Add butter
2. Add cream
3. Continue stirring until all ingredients are mixed
4. Set aside
Chicken a la King Ingredients:
- Chicken cut into small pcs
- Mixed Vegetables (carrots, corn, green peas)
- Butter
- White onion, chopped
- salt/garlic salt
- black pepper
1. Melt butter
2. Sauté Onions
3. Add chicken pieces and cook until a bit brown
4. Add mixed vegetables
5. Season with salt and pepper
6. Add in bechamel sauce and simmer a bit
7. Pour over buttermilk biscuits

You know what Janice, I have the same habit as yours. I always, always leave some ingredients like chopped onions, celery, garlic etc. I don’t know why but I feel that if I put everything it will be too much 😆. It’s good to know I am not alone 😂.

cut the butter into smaller cubes, it will be easier to cut it through your flour using your fingers by doing so less warmth transferred.
