  • CIMMYT has launched a ‘TED Talk meets fireside chat’-style series on women leaders. As Marion Wright Edelman said, “You can’t be what you can’t see.” If we want more women leaders in science institutions like ours, we need to provide more opportunities to hear from women leaders about their life journeys, lessons, and insights. We seek to highlight women who are leaders in all sorts of capacities, fields and disciplines, because we believe that leadership styles can take many different forms.
This is our latest episode from the series Catalysts of Change, from Tuesday April 9, 2024.
    Presenting Megan Wilkerson
Megan Wilkerson is Chief Scientist at the Department of Energy and the Environment in the United States federal government.
An entomologist by training, she specializes in international agriculture, social and environmental assessment, strategic planning, and program design and evaluation.
Wilkerson works closely with smallholder farmers and donor agencies to modernize agricultural programs and mobilize resources. In addition to international capacity building, she offers one on one coaching and mentorship to support the success of scholars on their academic journey. She is also passionate about being a role model to children who love science, and particularly those who love bugs.
