I always loved Osmosis Jones, but I have to agree, the live-action portion was absolutely appalling. Also, I never noticed the Kid Rock lyrics, and will never see that scene the same way again.
Another reason the live actions scenes are terrible is because this movie is trying to be like Toy Story and Wreck It Ralph. Those movies don't have live action in them. I'm glad they got rid of the live action in the TV show but i think they should have known better. They should have not had it to begin with.
Oh ok but still cartoon network really does allow almost anything in the final episodes of the grim adventures of Billy and Mandy billy tore off his but cheeks and i do not want to describe the other details i will throw up if i do
As a kid, I absolutely hated the live-action bits. I am not a fan of live-action gross out humor. I loved the animated parts of the movie, though. Maybe this movie could have done better if it was a more mature type of movie that had social commentary. Of course, if it was rated PG-13 or R, they could made all the genitalia puns they wanted.
Olivia Garry and a scene where Ozzy didn't know wat a uvula was and drix said it was I the little red thing hanging in the middle of Franks and Ozzy says boxer shorts and drix says no in his mouth
Those live action bits kept me from watching the movie because they were too gross until i was 13 I watched the movie I'm 14 now and I regret not watching the movie when I was younger.
Indeed. I don't get why they have Bill Murray being that way. Half the time we focus on Ozzy in the human body world. It feels like two different films in a way.
@@alexalgerbra5386 it technically is because the animated portions are done by different directors, the farelly brothers only did the live action parts

The biggest flaw in the cartoon was that Ozzy and Drix would have been destroyed upon entering Hector's body, since Hector's immune system would have seen them as foreign. That bit always irked me about the show...
Ozzy and Drix (the TV series adaption) was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the trailer for inside out, glad I'm not the only one. I loved the series as a kid much more then the movie. It made better use of the inner body characters by focusing on that, and of course while having obvious morals from kids to look after their bodies eg. smoking is bad, don't eat too much junk food. I've seen a lot of people mentioning that they saw the movie in school but episodes from the series would have been a much better option. It made use of scientific terms and references that were able to be clever and funny while still being educational at the same time, years later I've gone back to watch a couple of episodes for nostalgia sake and now being older I can still find something new in them.
Jackie McCann wonder if that's the reason this thing bombed at the box office; pieced something possibly great and it gets a more adult-oriented rating. Tone some stuff down to get a "PG" rating and the whole movie suffered... Recall reading that's why Sylvester Stallone's "Judge Dredd" got SEVERELY panned; original rating was literally above "R" and at least Stallone, if I recall reading correctly, wanted a "PG-13". Alter some golden stuff too much and they probably threw the entire movie away WAY before it even hit the teaser trailers...
In the old days they did not think about kids as idiots and wimps that cant understand or handle anything like people do now. Kids can handle seeing the same stuff in the media that adults can. When i was a kid everybody watched adult movies and shows all the time.
Ozzy and Drix was an okay follow-up to the movie. I don't know why the writers decided to ditch Frank and go for a teenager...Probably because a teenage character would be "hip for the kids". I do wish Leah could've been in the show. We could've explored more of her character as well as her relationship with Jones. Also I really wish Thrax somehow survived so he could be the main antagonist. The villains here are good. But I don't think they could hold a candle to Thrax. 🔥
0:27 WAS THAT GHOST FROM TRUE CAPITALIST RADIO? Wow RebelTaxi, I haven't heard from him in a long time! The radio graffiti segments were fucking hilarious! Kudos for adding his cans.wav in! :D
5:43 When I looked back at this, I was curious as to know how Ozzy and Drix got into another person's body. It turns out that they were both transferred via mosquito, which is unrealistic.
I don't really know how to say this, but I'll try ._. Rebel, you are one of the few RUclipsrs that I ACTUALLY enjoy to watch. Your humor always makes me laugh my ass off.'LIEK A FRIKING ANIMEL'. That line itself made me laugh for a good two minutes. I love how you make me remind of my childhood; like re-visiting old movies or cartoons, while at the same time introducing me to new ones. Billy and Mandy, Panty and Stocking, and so on. Umm, I have much to say, trust me, but I don't really know how to execute those compliments. All I wanna say is: Keep up the good work, and I will always be happy to see a new video from you! ;3
Fun fact: the directors you mentioned were brought onto the project last-minute to direct only the live-action portions. The original directors already had the animation worked out. Part of the contract required crediting the Farrelly bros as the lead directors (which is dumb, because the animated portions were so much better).
Will atleast you didnt have to watch "Bio-dome" with Pauly Shore for 7th grade biology. And then write an essay on what practice did the movie use to help keep the earth clean.
Ryan G " [...] write an essay on what practice did the movie use to help keep the earth clean." It could be argued that it did nothing to help keep the earth clean and instead have who knows how many copies of the film in landfills or in the ocean. :V
It was a very, very disgusting Tv show. but highly entertaining. that sausage episode. i would never recover. til this day i can't eat a hotdog without thinking about that episode.
ShadowBladeX I actually really liked the series, it was much better than the movie imo, partly because there wasno live action bits, partly cuz it was actually pretty clever. The smoking episode was the best
I think this movie is very underappreciated especially considering the animated segments and the villain. I do think had they toned down the gross out a bit it could have been successful. Also nice reference to Ghost from True Capitalist Radio. I didn't know that you watched him as well.
Damn, didn't expect to see you here (from 6 years ago). Just came by to rewatch this and just now noticed the Ghost reference too. Although who knows how pan got that Ghost thing. He's seen the show or through some other obscure means. Also that whole brick video you donated was macabre man, although I guess we all are. I was thinking of donating Ghost that one video where the guy kisses his great grand mother's corpse and joke about it being his granny; but figured Ghost would be TOO pissed so I've hesitated on that....
@@bobtom1495 I mean I've been a big fan of Pan Pizza/RebelTaxi's work for years. So yeah when I heard that audio in the beginning of the video I was thrown for a loop when I heard that. Also yeah that brick video I donated was to throw Ghost off guard. Also that guy who has his grandma's corpse in the background where he kissed the corpse was donated to Ghost in the past. I remember that.
4:04 Pikachu appeared because they had the rights for it from the Anime. Ironically, 7 years later, Japanese researches found a new protein in the brain and dubbed it Pikachurin, because, and I quote: "Pikachu’s lightning-fast moves and shocking electric effects"
I saw this in science class as well. The thing is though, it wasn't elementary or middle school. It was in a high school anatomy class for sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Apparently we were at the end of the year and we finished our assignments ahead of time, so our teacher was scrambling for us to do something. The problem is though I knew most of the questions on it because we took a final on the class a few days prior.
I saw it in both my freshman biology class and my sophomore anatomy class, so it was fun for me since I knew most of the answers already and I enjoyed the animated portion of the film.
Watching this again, which is the first time I found your channel, no longer than six months ago, made me remember why I subscribed. Great work, really.
4:55 - OMG, I know. My High School Biology Teacher gave me when we watched the film, and had 100% on it, because I remember watching this in my childhood. and never forget the animated show.
I never watched this in school. I saw it when it finally came to HBO back when that still happened and you could wait every saturday for a movie that hadn't been released on home video yet but was no longer in theaters. I hated the live-action portion of the movie. Gross out humor has never been my thing and it was incredibly unfunny to me. Everything related to the inside of Frank was great to me, though.
Osmosis Jones happened to be reason why Brad Bird left Warner Brothers for Pixar. After the commercial failure of The Iron Giant, Brad Bird pitched another idea to Warner Brothers, but the project was rejected in favor of Osmosis Jones, forcing Bird to defect to Pixar. That idea is none other than the Incredibles.
I love the animation in that movie, it was my favorite thing for a while. The TV show was pretty entertaining. I guess it satisfied my craving for extra weird, surreal settings.
Originally, it was meant to be PG-13, but Warner Brothers wanted to market to little kids. Trendmasters had a made a toyline to coincide with the movie, but because it did badly in the box office, the toys never saw release. What a shame. I was exposed to gross out humor at a young age. Watched shows like Ren and Stimpy and South Park. So the grossness of the film didn't bother me one bit (even though I was eating M&Ms and popcorn in the theatre. ) I love movie to this day.
I actually really liked this movie. Maybe it's because I'm so young, but it really appeals to me, and I found it funny how many times they made such dirty jokes, but got away with it so well.
Ohh, if only they could have just made the movie completely animated! I watched this in school when I was younger, and I just held out for each next animated portion. The animation is so fluid and gaaaah...I love it. And Thrax...he needs more love for just being such a threatening villain.
Fucking THANK YOU for playing "Fill Me In" in the background. I 100% forgot that song existed and how much I loved it. They never made us watch Osmosis Jones in school (2nd grade back then, too young) but I remember the OST was fucking amazing. Everyone I knew really liked at least one song from it.
hahaha ahh memories. Yea I never really payed attention to the live action though...even if it had Bill Murry The whole theme of germs acting like cops was cool. As kinda a science geek it was also a good way to at least spark some interest in biology and such. I'll admit it's cleshie but it's got heart. From what i've seen it still has some fans even after all these years...
I actually really liked this movie. And the series. Makes me with it wasn't WB so it could show up in a Kingdom Hearts. Look people, there's a LOT we can do with this kind of setting and we like NEVER touch upon it. I mean, the game ReMission was another great tackle at this. Why aren't we doing more of it?
I actually really enjoyed this movie. The Live-Action part didn't gross me out as I just found them very boring. But everything else was fine with me. Especially any scene with Thrax cause he was just one of the coolest villains I remember from my childhood since he was one of the few cartoon villains that actually killed people ONSCREEN with his own hands. Now I know they didn't show the one cell dying as they cut away from it just as he burst into fire but that just added to the horror of his actions cause you did see the cell physically fall apart as one eye just popped out plus you could still hear the poor guy screaming in agonizing pain. Plus add to his ruthlessness he's also charismatic in a dark way that made you appreciate him more. He was deadly and cunning and it was balanced out very well with him. Best example is when he's infiltrating the brain showing he has the skills to be stealthy but still showing his superior strength when he bodied the two cells checking the temp and showing his dark humor sense of humor while casually murdering them. Saying Thrax is an unappreciated villain is an doesn't do him justice with how good a villain he was. Favorite part was his final fight. Love well choreographed animated fight scenes. It was fast-paced and showcased their skills without extending it out too long explaining their plan of attacks or reactions to it.
+Boystan Toytle I wouldn't say it was amazing, but it was definitely better than the movie, if only because it kept the 2D artstyle in the outside-human world
If the animated parts were cut out this movie would be about Bill Murray almost dying from his horrible lifestyle

Kids can handle seeing the same stuff in the media that adults can.
When i was a kid everybody watched adult movies and shows all the time.
@@CyberLance26 that aspect is more about studios being afraid of the parents of the kids versus whatever they think about the kids.
EbonyMasks cans.wav
EbonyMasks "THIS HISPANDEX USED MY SOUND CLIPS FOR A JOKE?! GOD DAMN IT-" *cans.wav*
Holy shit it took a second time for me to notice that. Rest in piece Ghost. He's capitalizing in heaven now.
HE'S BACK AGAIN! ...kinda...
I can't wait for Osmosis Jones 2: Escape from the Testiclands
4:50- That actually did happen to me.
slashermaster28 It's happen to too many people.
slashermaster28 It happened in my school too. Only for Adv. Biology though.
slashermaster28 Never happened to me, though.
slashermaster28 Me too, back in high school that is.
slashermaster28 Yep. Senior year in anatomy class.
Ozzy & Drix: Bill Murray's Inside Story
4:40 - they pulled this shit in my 12th grade anatomy class. Gotta love the American public school hivemind.
Rogueofmv They pulled it out on me literally today
Rogueofmv they pulled it on me in 7th grade
most likely the teachers see the pg rating and the fact it takes place in the human body, and probably assume "yeah this'll work for a lesson"
I just had to do this packet recently.
i love the animation style
holy shit i remember the cartoon
it was ........ a thing
exactly i thought was the only one remembered it
I think it was better then the movie, but that's not much of a bar to pass and it still wasn't that good.
5:43
When I looked back at this, I was curious as to know how Ozzy and Drix got into another person's body. It turns out that they were both transferred via mosquito, which is unrealistic.
This movie was so SICK!
Is that a good thing?
It was actually my poor attempt at a pun.
hue
I loved this movie, but I'm surprised they let us watch it in a catholic school now that I look back on it
I use to love this show on Kid's WB, hell, even more than the actual movie, also, the theme was actually awesome
All I wanna say is: Keep up the good work, and I will always be happy to see a new video from you! ;3
6:44 This is why Pan isn't allowed to make movies.
Winter X When I die, then you will realize
RebelTaxi
QUESTION:
what is your favorite shoujo anime?
mine is ojamajo doremi
RebelTaxi My science teacher actually showed this to my class too
Hunter Hurst Everyone knows it's Boku no Pico.
oh god watch Nolan bring it up
I feel bad for you Pan. I didn't have to do shit while watching this movie in my science class.
Of course you would put THAT face in the thumbnail...
Fun fact: the directors you mentioned were brought onto the project last-minute to direct only the live-action portions. The original directors already had the animation worked out. Part of the contract required crediting the Farrelly bros as the lead directors (which is dumb, because the animated portions were so much better).
6:26: “Movie spoilers cover your ears”
Me with headphones: *._.*
Osmosis Jones was my favorite film as a kid.
I still loved this movie....this was my childhood.
same
i would watch the entirety of osmosis jones if it were only animated, i absolutely hate gross out humour
The animated stuff had some gross out humor.
Will atleast you didnt have to watch "Bio-dome" with Pauly Shore for 7th grade biology. And then write an essay on what practice did the movie use to help keep the earth clean.
Ryan G " [...] write an essay on what practice did the movie use to help keep the earth clean."
It could be argued that it did nothing to help keep the earth clean and instead have who knows how many copies of the film in landfills or in the ocean. :V
Ryan G Your teacher must have hated your class.
Ryan G i had to watch that -_- that was horrible
This review is damn great! Thanks, RebelTaxi for making it!
It was a very, very disgusting Tv show. but highly entertaining. that sausage episode. i would never recover. til this day i can't eat a hotdog without thinking about that episode.
Hamsa Ali what was bad about it? never really saw the series, only the movie
I vaguely recall an episode about smoking.
Don't forget about the bean episode, or the smoking isn't cool episode.
Well, now I have the urge to watch the series..
ShadowBladeX I actually really liked the series, it was much better than the movie imo, partly because there wasno live action bits, partly cuz it was actually pretty clever. The smoking episode was the best
3:40 .... the 3tited woman... I thought she was one of a kind. XD
You know for kids.
Turmoil **Eight Crazy Nights flashback**
The horror
Was it? Huh, either I don't remember or I wasn't there. Do you know what episode number it was?....
It was a movie first? whaaaaat. now i need to watch it before this review.
Hamsa Ali Fuck it, i enden up watching the review.
Hamsa Ali _WAIT WAIT WAIT... IT WAS A _*_TV SHOW!??_*
I only saw the movie as a kid not the show.
Richard Vasquez yes :)
R3pherade :/ show is worth watching if you can find it
4:55 - OMG, I know. My High School Biology Teacher gave me when we watched the film, and had 100% on it, because I remember watching this in my childhood. and never forget the animated show.
Inside Out is going to be so metal.
tbh I liked the movie. the 2d animation appealed to me a lot and I really liked the concept. it got me thinking.
Thrax was actually really fucking cool IMO.
I saw this in school...but I didn't have to do any work at all afterwards...
Bob Tom Lucky.
Bob Tom. i had to watch it today we had to do work
Osmosis Jones happened to be reason why Brad Bird left Warner Brothers for Pixar. After the commercial failure of The Iron Giant, Brad Bird pitched another idea to Warner Brothers, but the project was rejected in favor of Osmosis Jones, forcing Bird to defect to Pixar. That idea is none other than the Incredibles.
Actually in the show, Ozzy & Drix were transferred over to Hector via Mosquito. Pretty dang clever.
ziddyT9 woah what there was a series about this?
the legends let's plays Yeah I remember watching it as a kid. I watched it during the early 2000's. :)
I love the animation in that movie, it was my favorite thing for a while. The TV show was pretty entertaining. I guess it satisfied my craving for extra weird, surreal settings.
i know another cancer causing gene by the name of five nights at freddy's.
Wow was that really necessary do you want a trophy for trolling.
Reiji Arisu got the hazmat suit ready to anticipate the release of the next piece of shit.
Cool Clank no, just undeserved attention.
The one thing Fnaf did that was good was showing that different indie games can be popular:
waffl3sk4t If you want undeserved attention you're gonna need a lot more jump scares.
Ósmosis Jones was originally going to be rated PG-13, but Warner changed it to be rated PG. I would like to get the uncut version.
Especially in The Iron Giant Signature Edition treatment!
u wahnt osmoshis.
u goht usmoopsis
Best thing I've since ever. XD
I watched it in 7th grade with a worksheet just like that
Yup
i remember when this movie came out. i also remember the critics hating it.
The 3 stooges movie was good. I am glad pan made that comment
I actually really liked this movie. Maybe it's because I'm so young, but it really appeals to me, and I found it funny how many times they made such dirty jokes, but got away with it so well.
I almost forgot about this show, my brothers and I enjoyed the show, I've never seen the movie
I know right
***** That's nice
***** And this is why we can't have nice things, ladies and gentlemen
***** You're the one that was causing trouble for this user.
***** Should I now? You've been fucking with me for the past hour, get a life already
I dig the animation it does have some of that Iron Giant DNA mainly with how shading and lighting looks as well the combination of 2d and CG
Hey, Pan! who are you voting for in the Smash Ballot?
#VoteForShantae
david jose has to be a video game though...
5th Kie... Yes Shantae!!!
Deez Almond Nuts #VoteForShantae
Deku Link I would, but I feel like the smash bros roster needs more girls
Yes i want Shantae
Ohh, if only they could have just made the movie completely animated! I watched this in school when I was younger, and I just held out for each next animated portion. The animation is so fluid and gaaaah...I love it.
And Thrax...he needs more love for just being such a threatening villain.
and i thought ozzy and drix was just a fever dream
Fucking THANK YOU for playing "Fill Me In" in the background. I 100% forgot that song existed and how much I loved it.
They never made us watch Osmosis Jones in school (2nd grade back then, too young) but I remember the OST was fucking amazing. Everyone I knew really liked at least one song from it.
hahaha ahh memories. Yea I never really payed attention to the live action though...even if it had Bill Murry
The whole theme of germs acting like cops was cool. As kinda a science geek it was also a good way to at least spark some interest in biology and such. I'll admit it's cleshie but it's got heart.
From what i've seen it still has some fans even after all these years...
1:23 That made me realize...within a year Bill Murray went from being a fantastic character in The Royal Tenenbaums to a 'LOL GROSS FUNNY' character
3:51 Dafuq? Keep Kid Rock away from my kids that I don't have and never plan to.
Luckily, those lyrics aren’t heard in the film.
What sucks to me is that the Farley Bros got all the directing credit despite only doing the live action scenes and not any of the animation.
0:29
Was that...was that Ghost?
Yes! Its when he fell off his desk a while back
Who?
AWWWWW THAT BURN
"you sicken me , go clean yourself up... GARFIELD". SHOTS FIRED!!!!!!!
That made my day XD
Pretty much the film version of Cells at work 😁
2:14 That haunted my 7 year old self for weeks. This and the scene where Thrax dies made him the scariest cartoon villain of my childhood.
PAN YOU NEED TO WATCH "CELLS AT WORK" DO IT DO IT DO IT
I actually really liked this movie. And the series. Makes me with it wasn't WB so it could show up in a Kingdom Hearts. Look people, there's a LOT we can do with this kind of setting and we like NEVER touch upon it. I mean, the game ReMission was another great tackle at this. Why aren't we doing more of it?
I loved the cartoon version, but even as a kid the gross out humor was to much for me to enjoy the movie.
"cover your ears"
Kinda hard to cover my ears with headphones.
2:08 IKR!? Thrax is just awesome
We need them more than ever to fight covid 19
"JONES! get your nucleus in here"
Nucleus as in Nu-cle-ASS.
I remember this amazing show from when I was a kid.
+Boystan Toytle I wouldn't say it was amazing, but it was definitely better than the movie, if only because it kept the 2D artstyle in the outside-human world
+Bay Laugh Yeah, plus the monster designs were nigh Real Ghostbusters in terms of quality. Gotta give props to good monster designs.
4:50 Yep. Remember getting that in-class during the film.
