nobody is commenting about how Max AKA Bailey said " oooo she's a good ear scratcher maybe there is hope for her after all. "
It felt tearfully emotional seeing that Gloria has stopped being abusive (they said that she was “emotionally abusive”) and got over her hatred of dogs.
I know right like i hated her but now i felt sorry for her on why she was like this and seeing her upset really touched me
Dave Nierop yeah, I’m so glad she changed
Same I cried almost like if my own mom did it. I remember other than the dogs this was the moment I lost it
@@artisticalex1206 I had the same problem with my dad. He’s not abusive, he’s just very temperamental sometimes, which is scary. Plus, he mostly just doesn’t understand how I see reality.
@@jaylenhioe2868 my dad is the same way too so I understand
I’m glad my mom was never like Gloria even though she’s been stressed and frustrated with a lot of things she never stopped loving me
Same
Same here
Same
Same
Same.
When Bailey moved to comfort Gloria I started crying. I only know what it’s like to be the victim but still always feel more for the abuser when they try to reform themselves(like Gloria) someone who was hurt and in turn hurt others, being filled with nothing but hatred and pain. And then constantly caring the guilt and shame..I don’t really know why it makes me sad it just does.
I still hate Gloria and wish the worst happened to her. She's not doing this because she feels bad for what she did, only because she doesn't want to be alone the rest of her life. I would have told her to go to Hell and stay out of my life. She chose to be an abusive monster instead of a loving mother that the child needed. Now she wants to be there so suddenly why?
@@Disneyfan82 when she had no one else yo direct her hatred at the only person left was herself. While I don't like abusers I can at least give them the benefit of the doubt if the claim to want to change to be better.
@@benolr64 She should have been charged with child neglect and abuse, but nobody did anything. Nothing would ever make me take her back in my life, the one who ruined my childhood and kept me away from my grandparents.
i hated how Gloria treated CJ so badly like she never cared about her or anyone she just wanted her money and only cared for herself but im glad that she finally became sober and tries to repair her relationship with CJ
@Funtime Classic Foxy and get this CJ was all she had like please she never cared for her would have been best if she did lived with her grandparents
don't read the book
Dave Nierop She was acting. Actor actress you know you should watch this behind the scenes.
Carla The spix macaw I know that. You don’t have to mention that.
Hannah’s son, Henry, married Gloria and when Gloria was pregnant with CJ, Henry died in a car accident and that’s when Gloria kind of changed into a mean person.
Victims of familial abuse are never obligated to forgive their family members. Even on their death beds, sometimes people never get better, or even if they do get better that doesn't mean they have to be part of your life. If you choose to go on without them, you have that right and shouldn't feel guilty about it.
But damn would it feel nice to repair relationships. For those abusers to *genuinely* get better, apologize profusely, and try to be good to you for the rest of your life. Even if they act as mere kind friends.
It's a dream that probably never comes true for most people. But hey, we can enjoy it in this fluffy movie. This is honestly the perfect movie for that kind of happy fluffy ending.
Gamer Raichu thank you for writing this comment. I really needed to hear from at least someone that victims of abuse (physically or mentally) don’t have to forgive them. I’ve had a horrible experiacne with my mom, and I honestly don’t forgive her at all.
@@moved1441 No problem. Don't ever feel guilty for keeping toxic people out of your life. Whoever you include in your own life is completely your choice. I just hope you do include others in your life that make you feel happy and safe.
@@moved1441 my mom forgive her father for sexual abusing her and it helped her heal
@@TheMormonSorceress that’s great for your mother, and I’m happy for you guys.
The same thing should happen if you make an almost dangerous mistake
"She needed love". Isn't that just like a dog, to understand, even after they've seen a person at their worst, like Bailey has?
Now she finally understands the true meaning of being a mother
She always did you know she was ACTING.
Carla The spix macaw you don’t need to mention that
@@sadieandme4164 they’re talking about the character dumbass
These are great actors and actresses
It's so very hard to forgive. It's also so hard to admit wrong. This scene is that point in time for them. Glad Gloria redeemed herself, and CJ accepted her back into her life.
Wish it was easier IRL.
terrible redemption arc
It sucked, because Gloria is only doing this because she doesn't want to be alone, not because she feels remorseful.
@@Disneyfan82 yeah this film sucks
@@clonetrooper2003 Not the whole film, just Gloria's weak redemption because this is not how real life works all the time for victims of child abuse and neglect, especially if they never get karma for their cruel and evil ways.
@@Disneyfan82 yeah definitely the worst part
You know ur a bad mom if you daughter calls you by your name
lol I luv how he just made the moment a little more brighter by saying she still had hope just by her ear scratching
I came from a narcissistic family . My
Dad only wanted to be called by his first name. He will take his rage and beat me call me degrading names and even spit on me. My mother wasn’t much butter and sort of let him do what he wanted as long as it’s an affect her losing her nice things. As the scapegoat of the family all the unhappiness was projected onto me.The day my beloved French bulldog died from a seizure I left the vets office and decided to walk home . As I walked I noticed a flock of white doves flying above . A beautiful image I’ve never witnessed. I thought it was a sign but then told myself I was crazy to think such a thing . I’m my head I asked Leila to send me another sign and walked home . I went to bed as soon as I got in and received a phone call from my Neigbor telling me there was an injured animal outside my place . I went out and there lay a white dove with a broken wing . I took her in and took the dove to an avian dr and believe it was my Leila some form . I administered medication to the done and finally found a sanctuary that would place her with many other doves . The day I was supposed to take her Leila the dove was taking her last breaths much like Leila my dog did in my arms . I believe it was a final goodbye . I had cut off my family and realized that they never loved me .life is not worth dealing with people that only want to kill your soul
Exactly, this scene was just stupid!
Did you know Gloria has a dog in REAL LIFE.
No
Fuc mee
Did you know she was ACTING
So?
That's so not nice
My dad was a alcoholic pos in his younger years, but when he got older I reached out cuz I wanted to know where I came from. So I mended our relationship and even helped my sister too.
Wow Betty gilpin played a great gloria
She looks familiar..
Ngl when I saw this in theaters I cried when the mom said she was sober and i also cried rewatching this. While my dad is an alcoholic he is nothing like the mom in this movie and thank God.
QUIT PLAYING WITH MY FEELINGS!!! 😰😥😓
0:55 hey mom come look! Sounds just like you doesn't it?
Love this movie
So dis whole movie is bout dog dying and coming back to life as a different dog and finding CJ
More deeper than that. Basically it's about the bonds that bailey makes throughout the lives that he lives. But there is always a beacon point and thats Ethan.
Someone want to help me with something: WHY IS THIS SCENE EMOTIONAL?
Never was so early 😁
Wow that dog looks exactly like mine. A party Yorkie
Holy fricking crap... _I just wanna give Gloria a hug._ 😢🥲😢😭.
I just relize that my dogs can be somewhere with a better lives
Seems like Gloria is turning over a new leaf
I’m so glad she stopped being so abusive
I would have told her to stay the hell out of my life and never call me again. This was stupid!
Do Friday next
I'm not the only one who gets emotional during this scene, am I? I also can't figure out if it's a sad scene or just a sweet, emotional scene. But I think Ik why I get emotional during this scene: I can relate to how CJ was treated. Not going any further, cause I HATE talking about it. Even if I LOVE the movie(which I do), there's one thing I'm STILL trying to figure out: WHY did they have to remind me of being treated the SAME way CJ was by Gloria in the movie AND the book? That's the ONLY thing I HATE about this movie. Also, if CJ doesn't want ANYTHING to do with Gloria, why did she let her hold Max? I would've said "Why would I let someone who HATES dogs hold mine?"
Gloria had many years to be the mother that CJ needed and now all of a sudden she wants to be a mother, just like that? She had her years and wasted them as an abusive deadbeat unfit parent. Id tell her to never try calling me again and to stay out of my life.
I did too. While she was a very bad parent, she did change herself after CJ left and learned her lesson after becoming sober.
@@artisticalex1206She deserves to be alone and should have gotten karma for her abusive, cruel ways, not be taken back with open arms after isolating someone from their loved ones out of spite and selfishness. Stupid she got away with it. Stupid!
Does anyone know the name of the headphones she uses in the movie? that black and orange
I swear these movies are made by kleenex to sell tissues
I'm ugly sobbing now, thanks movie clip! this is why I never watched this movie lol.
You really should! 👍🏻😉
I've been a "dog lover" all my life and yet, I've never been able to watch a movie about dogs (sounds incredibly ironic, but I know exactly what I mean) 😥
I came across this movie by accident this morning and yes: I cried my eyes out! 😭 But also: I LOVED IT!!! 😍🥰😍🥰😍 🥰😍🥰😍☺️😁 Ji ji...
The way Bailey never stops waiting and looking for CJ, every time they find each other, her relationship with Trent, the ending... It's beautiful! 👏🏻👏🏻💫💫💫
If you're half the "dog lover" I think you are, you should definitely watch this movie! (trust me) 🌿🌿🌿💫💙
Ethan died!?😢😭
No, Ethan is CJ’s grandfather
In the books
Yes
Gloria is ethan's daughter, which makes ethan cj's grandfather
Cj stop calling her mom not just because she's was a bad mother it was because her mother pushed her own family away and not having any relationship between her father and grandparents when her father died when Cj was still a baby her mom never talk about him not even once and over the years she's become a alcoholic and started taken mom from her daughter and from other people that trying to help her from the lost from her late husband after everything giving up drinking and getting some help and letting go of the pain about everything galra finally understand everything she's has done not just for her but also her own daughter she's destroyed their life and mass up her daughter childhood because she's was so selfish to see her actions and behavior.

and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Third
either she’s not a good actor, or she is acting a fake.
Gloria is still a trash character after all this time
Yeah, I hated her so much for how she treated CJ instead of being the mother she needed. I would have told her to go to Hell and stay out of my life.
I like how in the book she never redeems herself and instead dies from Alzheimer’s. Pure Karma for an abusive alcoholic. In the movie, she was forgiven too easily!
Is this a sequel?
Yes it’s a sequel to A Dog’s Purpose
