  • KNIPEX Tools 95 05 20 US Angled Electricians' Shears, 6-1/4" These are my first impressions and an honest review. They did not live up to my high expectations of Knipex form and function. Scissors are fantastic and the crimpers leave a lot to be desired.

I remember many years ago ( before many of your viewers were born) when the good tools were all made in America. But then there were some other tools that were considered cheap junk but would get you by in a pinch. These tools were made in Taiwan. We had not started getting all our stuff made in China yet. Comparing the Taiwanese stuff to a lot of the junk we are getting in China these days I don't think they were half bad.
I wonder if Harbor Freight will come out with a knockoff of thse cutters. :)

They look cool, I just don’t think they are a huge upgrade over my knipex standard shears.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Some crimper use hydraulic power, some use rachet mechanism, some simply gain leverage by size. If you can't crimp perfectly, blame your armstrength. Crimping do need power. It's good however for ferule type.

I like the angle design but hate any scissors with a notch, it always seems to get in my way. Great review!

Definitely a specialized tool. The notch comes in handy for it's intended use on wire and for things like fuel line but your everyday general use, I agree, it's not practical. I do want to try it on one of those God awful plastic clam shells and see if the angled handles keep my hands out of harms was.

    the crimper is for ferrules

I think the crimper is more designed for ferrules rather than inline crimps buddy.

I love the knipex brand have several of the pliers and pliers wrench. Was hoping these were made in Germany as well.. being made in Taiwan does me in. If I wanted Taiwan, I would have shopped for Taiwan. Was thinking the offer to cut plastic clamshells without nicking your hands ul

I wasn't prepared for that either. No country of origin was listed and I assumed because it was Knipex it would have been German made. Hence the "not everything I expected" in the title. Thanks for stopping by and I don't blame you for bailing early.
