Great video you guys.👍 Thanks for taking time to film and edit🙂.. awesome to see the younger guys out treasure hunting too🤠 Recently detected a mill from the mid 1800s and it had a lot of iron!..hard digging. I used Park1 and adjusted my recovery speed range from 6,7, or 8. Got lucky and found a copper 1813 George III Stiver in an old road bed.. I had never heard of that coin before..lol.. turned out to be a "personal best" oldest coin I've found yet😎 Have y'all broke the 1700s on a coin yet?🤔🙂 Thanks again for the time you put into the instructional videos and everything man..appreciate it👍
Right on..I'm here in Blacksburg, VA. I got lucky to be in an old state, however, the laws against detecting here are really strict!.. I mainly do door knocking and permission on private property. That would be awesome to detect one of those ghost towns up there! Hey man, thanks for the OnX Hunting app video🤠.. going to try that out. Y'all stay blessed😎👍
Thanks for posting the video. Great finds. I have been hunting a heavily iron littered area. You might want to see how much depth you lose by increasing the recovery speed. I was shocked , it's significant. I try and run 3 or 4 on the recovery , you can go to a 6" coil to reduce the matrix and still get the separation on ferrous and non ferrous . Depth on the 6" is incredible.
Yes that's true you may lose some depth but my point was to be able to hear the good targets among the iron. If the iron is masking the good targets depth will be irrelevant.
Excellent video and I will say that where you found the ring the stone was likely there as well. This is where you scoop up the soil and wash it at home carefully. Nice finds and thank you.
My property is a site of a 1850s gold mine town. I'm looking for a good discriminator. I have a gpz 7000 and etrac, but was thinking about the manticore. On sale now for 1199. What do you think?
I’ve been following your channel for over three years trying to learn how to use my 800 equinox the right way last summer. I finally found my first gold ring tone was a 50 I believe it is a mason ring. How can I send you a picture great channel love it.
A good benefit of running such a high recovery speed in that type of area is that a non ferrous target will repeat 360 degrees... At least in my calm midwest soil.
Perhaps you should watch more of my videos, if you are insinuating that I am staging the digs, I have never staged a dig ever, if I was going to do that I think I would stage more exciting items but that is never going to happen. Thanks for watching
Hello Keith. The nox is very easy to learn and use. I have made a playlist of instructional videos to help you with the nox. Feel free to find me on Sod Busters Metal Detecting Facebook group and I can help you with any questions you might have. ruclips.net/p/PLjrtO2dCo3KHkjtqTrlcCWu4Q6OpFeyIL
Thank you so much for your videos really helpful. I got a question for you. have you updated your equanox ? mine came with a 3,1 update but i downgraded it to 2 what do you think?
Just curious , under the iron bias setting (fe) there is an option after holding down the accept reject button that goes to an f2 , im wondering what this option is for and how to use it properly ? Thanks for any input !
Hello Josh. Fe is the original iron bias then Minelab did an upgrade to help eliminate bottle caps and that is f2. You can use either you prefer, I tend to use fe
what does gold numbers ? can you set this up so it only read gold jewery an coins ? i prolly have to just get all the things i looking for an make custom setting i dont want to miss nothing
As usual, your video is awesome and very informative. Thanks a bunch!! Question, i’m rather new to this, when you’re hunting a field how long does it usually take till you get a good signal? I’ve already walked 30 minutes before getting one does that seem like a norm?
Awesome Hunt. Ironic, i was playing with the iron bias today and was wondering if i should keep it at zero? The only problem i was having is the darn nails, LOL, If you dont mind, what was your vdi on that cool ring? Thanks Don,,,,,,,,,,,
Don if I remember it was in the low 20s on the 800. If the nails become too much of a problem run your iron bias up a notch at a time until you are satisfied with the results. Just be careful not to run it too high as to lose good targets.
THE DAMN BASS MUSIC MAKES IT SOUND LIKE YOU GUYS ARE DIGGING UP ZOMBIES - - - LMAO!!! GOOD VIDEO, HAPPY DIGGING, BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sod Busters Metal Detecting You know it!!! 👍🏼. Did you see that White’s may be going out of business? 😢. I still love my MXT. Have you seen the new Garrett’s yet? They should send you one to do a review video for them. You are really good at those kind of videos too. I hope you will still be able to keep going out to the ghost town when you get settled in your new place. I looked at that keyboard link you sent.. It looks interesting. I will have to research exactly how it works. I like the coin roll hunt idea too. Those may be things I can do while I’m stuck in the house with Mr Broken Foot. 😂
Larry at 5:33 you state that the shell is a 45-82 whereas I can find no such a round, but there is a lot of information on a 40-82 and i was just wondering if you cleaned the casing a little bit can you definitely see it as a 45 vs 40 ??
@@SodBustersMetalDetecting Thanks, I will still watch your video's with enthusiasm. Hope your move goes well, I think you mentioned one time that you were located in Idaho, and wish I could live there but a little late in my life to make a change. :)
I'm not trying to bust your chops, I'm trying to learn....it doesn't make sense, to me, that you put Iron bias at 0 because you don't wanna miss any iron (i.e. relics, gold), yet you turn down the sensitivity because you don't wanna pic up all of the iron. Again, just trying to learn...Im contemplating getting the EQ800. Currently have a Delta4000
I want the iron bias to recognize each good target but I dont want to overpower in heavy iron, kid of like turning the brights on in The fog. Hope that makes sense.
The ghost towns i generally go to aren't tourists attractions, they are usually on private property where the land owner has cultivated it for farm land so I generally don't have too many issues getting permission.

So nice to see the finds..As for me you can stick to finds and less Equinox. I had $1000 in one and discovered other than water proof the T2 Classic was a deeper better detector..Just sayin'..
That is what was so good about the Equinox 600, especially for those that got the 6" coil for free in the $650 deal. Buy some $35 Bluetooth APTX-LL headphones and you are set. I agree though, a waterproof T2 with wireless headphones would be great!

Wow congratulations on that coin. Here in Idaho we don't have history back that far. 1860s is as far back as we go.

Thanks Rick, I appreciate you watching. The stone would have been nice to have.
Nice Ghost town finds..I always let my coppers dry before getting the crud off..seems to preserve more of the details..brass sink plug.
Good idea Tom, thanks
45-82 was a Winchester cartridge introduced in 1886. Nice find.

Question, when doing noise canceling should we have our minelab pinpointer or any type pinpointer on during the canceling?
Tot unless you plan on leaving the pinpointer on while detecting.
A good benefit of running such a high recovery speed in that type of area is that a non ferrous target will repeat 360 degrees... At least in my calm midwest soil.

It all depends on where you are hunting. Try to research and detect where the most activity took place, that is where you will find the most targets.
