doncaster minster st george and around the town centre

now this is doncaster minster st george from the town centre the minster now was ringing some call changes on the front 6 bells well its very very nice to get a diffrent angle around doncaster with its famous big unick tall church i was just doing an history tour about the doncaster towns past to how it has changed a lot from 1998 to 2024 even with the thorp marsh old redundant cooling towers which have now well gone they were right out of doncaster near banby dun a lot of old buildings have been demolished and new shops roads have been changed even all the street lights which used to be the old orange red soudium sox street lights alot of them have been changed the old old concreat colombs and the alpha bright soudiume high presure street lights have changed over the last 50 years from 1978s now in recant years they have changed to bright soudiume street lights just putting a silver pice over the metal to the concreate street lights the ones with the lights which were the glowing up bulbs they started a white for a few seconds then used to turn orange means you would see the bulbs glow up to turn orange and to change to peechey pinkish color only the main roads first or in town centres or in 1994 to 1995 alot of the orange street lights would have changed just with a new light on top on quiet alot of old coloms poles the old ones they would have been red orange for so long then you come past the lights by cars and see alot have had new light tops over the concreat street lights it means a start of inprovment in the lights i deafantley always used to notice changes they came with bright soudiume type so when you went home in the dark they would be alot brighter type in the 1991 1992s the side street lights wernt done in those days only the big mainroads then the smaller collombs got changed as the years went on with bright high presure sodiume bulbs like the big mainroad ones then they lasted a good few years then another make called the philips street lights came out with white long bulbs didnt stay up very very long only a few years then the new led street lights have all come out which started in lockdown so they are all more white ones with just a flat top lights with no covers underneath so these ones are the best ones they dont let to much light into the air saves less electricity now when they turn on they just come on to white only thats it like the lights in your house or churches ok by stuart mills the history about doncaster towns past to what it looks like now the roads have changed new shops are here it will be diffrent to my friends who havnt visited doncaster in receant years everything has changed over the last years to come the towns street lights shops old buildings have disapeard means been demolished or knocked down even the 6 cooling towers and power station at thorp marsh has all gone even the boiler house 2 chimneys
