I bought the midi New York bag in mocha a while ago. Don‘t get me wrong, I love this bag, but there are two facts about this bag, you should know, if you are a woman, who wants to use the strap. First you can‘t carry it as a shoulder bag, because then it tilts extremely outwards and all your stuff is falling out. Secondly you can use it crossbody, but the thin strap will hurt you immediately, if you carry at least only a few essentials. I think this bag is meant to be carried only as a top handle or at the crook of your arm.
Hi, curious as to how you and other subscribers, like it now that you have had it longer? I just received mine today, having nowhere to see in person, I went with the Midi in Taupe as I thought will be good year round color with my wardrobe and the large doesn't come in Taupe option. My first thought on seeing it was that it is much smaller than I thought it would be. I am used to hauling around quite a bit in large totes. I think it appears much larger, esp. on videos, but the shape limits what can be put as you lose alot of 'real estate' with how narrow it is at the base. Re: the strap, at first I definitely agreed with the viewer who said there was no way to use it. I adjusted the strap so that it is the shortest it can go, it definitely hangs better keeping attached while using as top handle, I move it to the back, as I like to always have it in case I find I need it and putting inside the bag takes up too much room-for me. Keeping the handle short, it works cross body or over shoulder for me, even with all the 'stuff' I think I need to be prepared for anything! I am going to give it more thought and see how the color will work with everything. I did get it for $100.00 off on a sale Saks had last week, so that is a real plus.
Oh that must be gorgeous too! When I ordered, the photo actually showed the white stitching, but I received this one 🤦🏻♀️ I love both though, it’s a really wonderful bag!

Very good video, still trying to decide between this in light tan vs the Polene mini cyme. I for one have the Polene Tonca in Taupe which I love so good choice.
Great choice! I love Tonca ❤️ You can’t go wrong with any, but Polène Cyme goes on your shoulder and the DeMellier doesn’t (unless you add the long strap). The Midi New York in the size I have doesn’t fit a lot because of the narrow bottom. I really love both bags, quality is great and the styles are beautiful!
It doesn’t really bother me, I wear a Cuyana tote for work almost daily (2 different colors/size ) and they don’t have a zipper. I think for a crossbody bag a zipper/closure is essential since I’m more carefree and the opening might get too exposed. For a top handle or shoulder bag, I feel the bag is secure enough :)

They don’t go inside, the leather is quite structured in that area so it stays in its original shape :)
