Ayesha, I am back because I finally got "Eau the Audacity" on sale. I have never smelled "Babycat", so I can't compare. I do, however, own Rosendo Mateu's "5". Your review is spot on. "Eau the Audacity" and "5" are very different, but there are moments when they smell similar. In the opening of "Eau the Audacity", I get a lot of leather, but the scent dries down to the most beautiful blend of vanilla, incense and spices. Now, I am very curious about "Babycat", but I refuse to pay the exorbitant prices that many are charging for it.
Whomever said that about Penhaligons obviously hasnt experienced Bewitching Yasmine, Changing Constance or Cairo. TFS Ayesha. Glad that it seems like you like Babycat
Rosendo #5 is unmatched with its added sweetness. I have a decant of babycat and, it’s only a strong(er) incense note. I don’t know of the other however- as another viewer stated, the Ishq Middle Eastern version- not as refined but, so daaannnnggg close!!! Thanks for sharing, Ayesha! 🤗🥰
Thanks for the excellent comparison. I think adding when and how you will wear each one is particularly helpful. For those who can’t get their nose on Baby Cat or don’t want to pay the premium for that frag, Paris Corner Rifaaqat is said to be a close dupe. Have not smelled BC but am thoroughly enjoying Rifaaqat……and the price tag is A+

Great comparison, & I completely agree. However, I'm a bit sad. Why ? Because no one ever talks about the beautiful spices in Babycat. For me, the Spices & Saffron are what make it great.

BabyCat is definitely a forever in my collection scent. I also own and love #5. I got the rubber smell on the initial spray but afterwards, it was pure love. I want Eau the audacity because the bottle is so unique.
I wonder what YSL's strategy is with regards to Babycat. I'm always hearing about it being elusive, especially in the US. In Dubai I always see it at Bloomingdale's and the YSL beauty store.

I bought one fragrance from Lataffa, and it was so cheap and synthetic smelling. Are they all that way? I think its because of Domenique Rupion who is the perfumer/nose behind at least two of these gorgeous vanilla spicy fragrances that they are so addictive and well blended.
@@Labbepus not all of them are like that. The one I'm talking about is 1:1 dupe. Also the Oriana dupe is 10/10 ANSAAM gold. Some people leave them to oxidise for a month and then they use them if there's anything disturbing at first for you
It’s not at all the same but Material is absolutely stunning, intoxicating amber with sweet spices. Wafts of that coming off your scarf on a cold day is one of life’s great pleasures 😂
if you've never smelled Aroma M's Geisha Hinoki Vanilla, give it a try. it is a beautiful dry, smoky vanilla that I think holds up against the others you mention.
When I sniff any of these fragrances I don't get a vanillic vibe from any of them, especially Rosendo Mateu no. 5 which to me comes off as a very bold amber. I do find that Babycat smells similar to Rosendo Mateu no. 5, while Eau The Audacity just seems to smell different from either of the other two. I consider myself still a novice in this fragrance game, so take what I say with a pinch of salt. I have two of these, RM #5 and, Eau The Audacity. I find myself craving RM #5.

You are generally my perfume. What you like I like. However, we part here. I just can't heft with with No 5. Baby cat is ok but nothing to write home about. It's overpriced. I much more prefer Amourage Material.

I’ve worn Ishq al Shuyukh 3 times over the last week and totally agree - it’s very very similar and it wears well. I love it and got mine on Amazon 👍🏻
