Thanks for all the information on the H3. I got the twin pack, should be here this week. I have other, supposedly more quality radios, but the feature set hits and exceeds those things I only wished those radios did.

I currently bought the Tidradio TD-H8. I’ve been looking at the H3. Is there any difference between the two radios besides the Wattage-10W vs 5W?

Hello! You can check the official website for updates on various versions.
Your firmware update software will not acknowledge the comm port unless the radio is powered on, any solutions? Tried on mutiple win10 computers. Drivers are up to date.
The reason the com device doesn't show unless the radio is on is because there isn't a com device unless the radio is on if you are using a USB cable. The com device in the radio isn't powered if the radio isn't powered that is true with any windows and most likely 100% of any other computer. Remember, rule #1, crap doesn't work if it isnt powered!
It started the update progress a few times but never finished. Now my radio won't turn on at all.
Q2: What should I do if the upgrade fail and the radio can't turn on again.
A2:Because the upgrade process may be interrupted, resulting in an incomplete version upgrade of the radio. You need to repeat the upgrade steps again to completely accomplish the upgrade.

@@batmansgta Turning the power on knob on is the last step you do after you start the firmware upgrade process. Step6 Click [Start] and then Press PPT+ turn on your radio. Don't worry about the radio appearing to not turn on, it will not light up or appear to be on during the upgrade, just switch the radio on as instructed. It will not do anything till it's updated, once you follow the process in the (README) file that comes with the update it should work as intended. Also make sure you have the right firmware update downloaded, HAM or GMRS or Unlocked depending on which version of the radio you're set to.
@@reloader7sixtwo I'm not sure why this is so difficult to understand. The radio will not power on before, during or after attempting the upgrade. I've tried multiple times step by step.
In case you try to blame the battery, I've tried 3 fully charged batteries. Nothing.
Sounds like you bricked it! Tid might be able to fix it , but most likely no one else will. Thats why you have to read the instructions and follow them !
