Big in arts and artists yet artistic style in architecture appears to be totally stifled, everything looks exactly the same, no color and somewhat boring in that respect.
Hi Steve, good point and I didn't even think about that while I was walking. As the city is several hundred years old, I'm sure there are some limitations to development. The capitol building was modern but not particularly inspiring. Also, it's a fairly small city (88K) without much industry so not a lot of money to pay for innovative new buildings. I have to imagine there are some interesting homes in the hills surrounding the city. That said, I do enjoy cities that mix new with old, like London. Thanks for the comment and for making me think. Always fun. -H
Like 50 👍 Greetings from Naples, Florida. An awesome walk around Sante Fe, and we enjoyed the narration. Love the architecture there. Thank you for sharing, have a great week. 💯
Hi Henry, it’s 4:35pm EST NSW, Sydney, Australia 🇦🇺. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity to walk the treadmill with your guidance and tour of Santa Fe. I am unable to travel, however I need to keep up with exercise for my health, I am 63 and missed all the opportunities to travel overseas when I was young. I am grateful for the time and effort you put into helping us walkers with keeping our sanity. Very much appreciated 🏃♀️🤗
Hi Susan, that comment makes my day. I'm so happy these are bringing some happiness and health to people, or at least helping a bit. Cheers and keep on steppin' -H
This is my new home after living in the Midwest for over 40 years, it's been quite a change for me the last 5 years, but it's very nice nonetheless thanks for sharing
I am from England Henry but I think I got the wrong idea of New Mexico. You have given me a different great perspective. Can't say I got a good cardio workout though! All the same a great watch from my sofa!
Hey there. Good to hear from you as always. I'm curious about what you expected from NM. It's interesting to get an outsider's views of us and parts of the States. Also, was the video too short for a cardio workout? Just curious. Thanks. -H
Great walk went to Carlsbad craven in 1966 for Christmas spent Christmas day at white sands. The only thing I really remember is at the craven when you get done you are at the bottom of the craven and you take a elevator back to the top. It was so fast that when you get to the top it stops very suddenly. And wen it did my sister that's older than me let out a shirk and grab onto a lady that was in front of her. Needless to say she was very embarrassed.
Hi Henry. I just had a view of it being quite barren and descolate. I always get the impression of the northern states being where the character is. I have probably formed my opinion from the big screen! No problem with the cardio. I was just being lazy and watching from my sofa!
Ahhh. Yes, these western states often have a bit of both mountains and high sagebrush steppe. The area around Carlsbad in the south can be quite open and empty (until you start to look closer) but the north has mountains and forests. Thanks again. -H
Your walking video in Santa Fe, NM was truly exceptional! The way you captured the intricate details of the city's unique architecture and historic landmarks, while also highlighting the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape, was truly inspiring. It left me feeling like I had personally experienced the enchanting charm of Santa Fe, and I cannot wait to visit in person. Thank you for sharing your passion for travel and exploration with the world, and keep up the excellent work!
Hi Henry! This was a beautiful walk through Santa Fe. I visited several years ago and would have also suggested a tour of the unique and amazing Santa Fe Opera House. Just checked the website and it appears they're no longer offering in person tours though. 🙁 Re: the title, I prefer your regular style, but whatever works! 😊
Hi Pam, thanks for that feedback. It certainly seems to have increased views. I might try another one on Monday to increase my data set. Regarding the opera house, I would love to take a tour of that sometime if they ever restart them. I would love to spend much more time in the city as well. The day we were there happened to be the day that the Georgia O’Keeffe museum was closed, which was one of the highlights we wanted to visit. I guess that’s a good reason to go back. 😁 always good to read your comments. Thanks so much and all the best to you. - H.
@@CityWalks Well if it's increased views that's terrific! I know what you mean about missing the Georgia O'Keeffe museum. I was looking forward to viewing The Last Supper many years ago while in Milan, but the day we were there the museum was closed. AAARGH!!! 😖 Thanks as always, Henry! 🙂
Great walk and video. I have always wanted to return to New Mexico after travelling through the state on Amtrak in April of 1999, on my way to Flagstaff. I would love to explore Santa Fe and the surrounding areas. I love all the adobe architecture, and I can see why Gene Hackman retired there. I also love the scenes of New Mexico in the film Crazy Heart, including the Santa Fe Opera House. I have heard about the stunning beauty of the New Mexican skies and why they attract so many artists. Maybe I will visit again one day and stay in an Earthship!
Hah. RUclips is great but it can be pretty quirky too. No surprise since they serve billions of people. But no worries. Happy to see your comment again.
Thanks so much for sharing your memories and info Richard. Santa Fe is very nice and I'd love to go back in the spring or fall when it's a bit warmer but without the crowds of tourists. We only had a few ours there. Hope you get to make it back again too and, if you do, I'd love to hear about your earthship experience. They are pretty interesting and I love the way they meld with nature. Thanks. -H
Thanks for your reply. I checked online, and found that it is $2 per hour, if anyone else might be interested in knowing. The City of Santa Fe site noted that meters are enforced there Monday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. except for some holidays. I hope to be in that area in early May, so found your NM walks Very helpful! Thank you.
@@eldi151 Hi @eldi151, thanks so much for taking the time to do that. May sounds like a great time to visit. It was pretty cold when we were there. Have a great trip. -H

why there's not young people?
I think because it's cold, it's a weekend morning, and it's off season for tourism. Thanks for watching. -H
