I really like these Andertons videos since the time when Pete has joined with Lee doing these product demos. Pete is such a nice and positive spirit guy! So keep on rocking and sending these marvellous videos! Petes brillant playing is often demonstrating what the product is all about for most of us guitar nerds.
Wow , well done Laney , this was obviously spec’ed with real guitarists rather than an RD office meeting , loads of ins and outs , fx loop ! Brilliant . I already have the Orange 20 watt pedal amp , but , if I didn’t I would be making b line for this . Good price too .
I clicked on this out of curiosity, and assumed it was more geared towards higher gain tones, but those clean tones at the beginning were heavenly. Great job Laney!
Just to say I am a geezer from Tucson Arizona and I start my day with your latest youtube upload. You guys are great and you add positive and informational content . Thanks. John
I've been looking for a portable backup rig that I could fit in my gig bag and after watching the demo concluded this was the one - simple plug n go set up into a cab or pa or both. Ordered on the Friday after watching this vid from the good folks at Andertons and it arrived today. Took it to practice tonight and was blown away by how good it sounds out of the box. My feedback from the band was that's the best sound you've ever had. So I now need to decide if this is now actually my go to rig and relegate the other one to backup! Great job o n the demo guys!
I was playing with the idea of switching to a pedal-amp for live gigs instead of hauling my 50 watts ENGL tube head everywhere just to get told to turn it down to 1 1/2 by the soundguy. Was planning to go straight to a preamp/distortion style pedal and a cheap class d poweramp, but this thing here might very well knock this option out of the park for me. very well suited for my kind of needs and a good deal cheaper than a 200 bucks preamp/distortion, a 200 bucks class d poweramp and my existing pedalboard, AND with extra features and therefore extra flexibility when sharing a backline or going DI. pretty much everything covered that you can run across on a stage. very nice indeed.
Andertons rock, I sent a query about the amp and cab combo about 4pm Saturday, I got a really helpful reply five minutes later, ordered at 2am Sunday morning, got another message saying thanks for the order and that they were on it, two big boxes arrived Monday morning first thing! This amp is brilliant 🤟🏽 Thanks again for the amazing service (as always)
Only thing I miss is the possibility to change channels externally, with TRS or MIDI. This thing looks and sounds great. What a great price as well. Good job Laney, as usual!
I got one of these after seeing your video. And there’s no going back. I absolutely love it for both clean and dirt sounds. The secret is to run a compressor into it and then I run the rest of my pedals through the effects loop. Makes my life a whole lot easier. I’ve already gotten rid of my extra distortion pedals because I don’t need em anymore. And there’ll be plenty more of that.
So many companies are making this kind of pedal amps at the moment. I like the clean and edge of breakup tones, maybe even the crunch as well. For distortion I would probably use another overdrive or distortion pedal with it, maybe turn down the gain or boost a bit and lower the bass. Great demonstration, thank you Lee and Pete!
Maybe class D is the way to go, that sounds great. It works really well for bass and that kind of neutral eq platform seems really nice for guitar as well. Add the pedals you like to flavor it up and you don't have to worry about tubes and repair costs.
Glad I saw this video as it went onto other sounds that this pedal does as opposed to just high gain metal. Which is not a bad thing, now I see how versatile this thing can be.
Class D doesn't mean digital at all Its based on enumerating different technologies just like notes C D E F ... Actually class is analog: its based on an analog comparator and produces HF pulse widths proportional to the input signal. This HF (high frequency) signal is then filtered by a low pass to generate a loudspeaker (and human ear) compatible signal 🔊. The reason why it can be built so small and why its so effective is: modern semiconductor fast switching devices which can be turned on and off very quickly thus generating very low thermal loss Thanks for this great demo ... LANEY seems to know how to 👍👍👍👍👍
As I move into my 8th year with my L6 Helix, I love what is happening with all of these new pedal amps. When the time comes I think I’ll be going in that direction.
I've been really enjoying the Laney sound with my Pod Go, and have been wanting a way to have a downsized rig for tour and at home. Can't believe they made it!
I have a soft spot for Laney as we come from the same small town in the Black Country but this is a bit too "metal" for me. Now if they were to bring out a Lion Heart version I would be first in line.
The boost would be more useful and versatile if it was after the preamp. As it is it will add a volume spike on the clean channel (if you really set it to a clean tone) and a gain spike on the drive channel - bye bye unity volume. A clean boost after the preamp would give you a solo boost and save the space of one pedal.
This seems good, it’s interesting to compare with the Hotone Mojo Attack and Britwind; the Hotones have reverb, and the two channels have individual EQ sections, but the Laney has three modes per channel.
A lot of this kind of amplifiers can do a lot and sounds descent, but for true tone and dynamics you have The fantastic Himmelstrutz 8, it's simple but is unsurpassed in tone and dynamics!
I like this! Perfect for adding guitar to a dawless synth rig and if it sounds that good with a Sire it's going to be just fine with a US Std Strat or Tele, so I'm covered. That's on the wishlist now.
I don't know if EU retailers have boycotted Laney because it's british. Thomann don't have any of their stuff anymore, and Gear4Music also has very low stock of their stuff left. I just got a Laney Mini-lion ST v1 not so long ago. It sounds great, kind of Klon'ish, but it doesn't have an fx loop. I did ask Laney if the LSI insert point could be used as a regular one for pedals (Tonebridge don't work on my android). They wrote me that if using some sort of adapter then it shouldn't be a problem. I could also use the aux in to do parallel stuff, if I use some sort of splitter. But I of course chose the stereo version of this amp, so mono signals will obviously only be audible on one side. So I would have to use a pedal like a stereo chorus or stereo reverb at the end that can transform a mono signal into a stereo one. What a hassle 😅 So would be great if Laney would release a Lionheart version of this pedal, if they haven't already, and if EU onlinestores would start selling Laney again.
I was looking for a new 'emergency' amp to replace my EHX 44 Magnum, which is a bit too dark sounding for me. I was about to pull the trigger on an Orange Terror Stamp, until I saw this video. I've had it a few days now and it's far too good to save for emergencies, I think it might become my main amp for band rehearsals.
Torn between the Amped 1 and the Ironheart Foundry. I may have to purchase both to choose. I have the TC Electronic IR and TwoNotes CabM+ so cabinets are covered. Additionally I have quilter Interblock, the micro terror head, and Baroni Lab Hellraiser so room for one more. The Amped 1 has a lot features but the footprint is larger. Thanks Anderton's for the great video and making my decision more difficult! 🙂
I love my amp one. Check out recent videos on the MAJIK BAND RUclips channel to hear some clips. It has been great live and I’m studio for over a year.

I love LANEY. I really regret selling my IOMMI TI15 amp. 🤮I was thinking to get either a Laney SuperCub head or just a MXR EVH Overdrive to enhance my beloved old CRATE POWERBLOCK setup. I reckon this would be a great alternative. for €200 . 😎 Shame i gotta spend 700€ at the dentist next week. BUGGER

This thing looks great and if I didn't already have the H&K Ampman Classic. I'd probably pick one up. I wish there were some pedal amps for bass though since they don't seem to exist at all. Maybe due to import costs, duty etc (given that Anderton's and Laney are in the same country) - IIUC Marshall's are also way more expensive in USA than UK and conversely Fender and Mesa cheaper in the states.

Laney's cleans are actually really nice, even coming out of their higher gain amps, which is not really common in that genre.
The cleans from the Ironheart head amps are amazing, then you have the possibility to do high gain metal tones, my IRT60H does it all!!
