- During the Wheels Of time show this year, we had a large crowd of people gathered talking hot rods and parts. Our good friend Pete happened to be talking to an old friend that mentioned he knew of a gentleman that had a freshly rebuilt 21 stud engine for sale. Pete immediately flagged down Matt to exchange phone numbers. Today Matt and Mike are going to take a quick trip to hopefully pick up a good engine!!

Man, I loved that guy's black '37
Dang! Once again, another great SCORE! WOO-HOO!
Kinda hard to see anything when you're backing up into a big dark square hole, isn't it Mike? It's always nice if someone would stand outside to help you, but Nooo, the other guy (Matt) goes into the darkness and yells,
'OK' 'c'mon back' and ya can't tell where c'mon back actually means, haha😮😅
That's the cleanest looking flathead I've seen on this channel, absolutely immaculate. Nice find.
i like the way that ‘37 sat and the slightly forward sloping roof looks nice.
Bravo Matt...perfect engine for that '32 roadster! You are building a keeper.
Two nice 37 Coupes there. That engine looks to be a real beauty; good score, fellas!
I saw some guy named Matt on the TV in the Gilmore Museum. Great place, that you for the recommendation. Well worth the 680 mile trip.
Yet another fruitful adventure for you both . That gentleman certainly has some lovely cars .
god bless this gent! having vintage ford stuff in your attic is super cool.
Nice to see some 37s on the channel. Would love to pick up a mostly original slant back or club coupe someday.
I’m loving the 37 🥰
Great video ! Seeing the old 1950 style coupes was a trip to the past !
221. The original flathead engine displaced 221 cu in (3.6 L), with 3.0625 by 3.75 in (77.79 by 95.25 mm) bore and stroke. The block was cast as a single piece (monobloc) for durability, and a single-barrel carburetor fed the engine. The 1932 V8-18 with 5.5:1 compression produced 65 hp (48 kW). 65 Donkeys. 221 cu inches. your v8 is so clean wow. Its a keeper.
I used to have 1962 ford f100 that had 223 cubic inches it had solid lifters. It would lay scratch a long ways. was a six cylinder ran great rebuilt motor by ford when you drove it 70 mph the solid lifter roared. LOL sheeeeeee
Heck of a score can't wait to see the next phase of the roadster
Always enjoy these videos a day in/ a week in the life
Thank you Matt and Mike for the adventure and seeing some nice finds !
Great scoop.
Cool old cars like the blue one 👌
Oh my....🥰🤪😲😍The blue one! @20:10
Now you have great idea, thanks guys for the video
I want that beautiful black beast in the guy's garage! Wow! Absolutely stunning! @5:47
Hey Matt and Mike - Did you get any hot rod ideas from the old timer? Talk about finding parts from floor to ceiling. I can’t wait to hear that V8 roar!!!
I have a set of the block mounted water pump blocks and engine mounts so you can do that water pump in the heads conversion. I have a '37 but I returned it to the block mounted water pumps.
When you were headed up into the attic, my first thought was, “no way there is a flathead up in an attic!”
We have 4-5 engines in the attic in my dad's shop 1 being the original engine from his 40 Ford coupe
Yeah you say it like it's unusual to have an engine in the attic!
@@craigwalker4211 I am going to have to redo my thinking.
Nice find
this is cool to see, i am partial to '37s...I have a '37 club coupe
1st That black 37 was sweet. 2nd that engine is way to clean to use....
Great find, can’t wait to see it, in the 32!
8:36 You think buy now, with all the engines that are bought, an engine cradle would be nice to have.
Morning Matt & Mike, one thing I noticed is everytime I load a motor in my Ford one ton pickup I always remove the tailgate, y'all don't...
you found a gem in that engine
With as many time you guys have picked up engines, you would've built a cradle to sit them on for transport.....just sayn'.
By the way, nice flathead, clean!
Cool Find. Although, I 'd probably put it in a flat fender early Jeep, LOL. What's the status on the Arden? I haven't heard anything on it in what seems like forever.
There's just something about the sound of those old flat heads. Just think about all the hotrods that were built in that garage. Was he just trying to cut down on some stuff or is he getting rid of every thing?
well now it's a back to the future for some old time rock-n fun , ok matt you keep say a traditional old school 32 build , but you not a plane jane builder 😂 so what is going to be done to the 32 oldman special .
You guys need to do a v8 swap on the tractor..!!! There so cool with the v8 flathead conversion
These old timers are lucky to have gone through the 60s & 70s, nothing new or exhilarating these days in the car world
I don't know about that , 1,000 hp 4 bangers and 2,000 hp inline 6 ?
I've heard of toys in the attic-but , transmissions in the attic?
Very KOOL
iron trap vultures are circling
Score!
How did all those parts get up into a house attic? That looks painful.
He was a lot younger when he stashed them.
That attic staircase looks sketchy 😂😂
Couldn’t understand what Steve was saying as you unloaded the engines, he must need a holiday 😅
Nooooo! Keep the 32 a banger!
Agreed !! There's some pretty "sexy" speed equipment for those too you know !! "Overhead valve" conversions. The predecessor of the Ardens !! You're getting "predictable" Matt !!! ;o)
Nice Video.

There's the engine I said I'd swap into the 32 Roadster. I got s**t for saying I'd otherwise leave it as it was purchased but so be it!
Hi Matt, do you have children?
