I've been hearing the word "pip" whenever I watch a forex trading vid. But no one explained what this one is. Thanks Matt. Now I know what that word is. 😁

For those who don’t get it. A pip
For each currency it goes upto 4decimal except for jpy which is 2 decimal and it is usually the last decimal place of a price . The pip value is 0.0001 and for jpy it is 0.01
Now the exit price from his side of explanation was 1.2631 and the entry is 1.2621 ryt? To calculate how many pip gained or lost , it is the difference between the entry and the exit / 0.0001
Doing the math
1.2631-1.2621=0.001 then/ by the value of a pip 0.0001=10
Therefore from 1.2621 to 1.2631 you have gained 10pip
Same goes for jpy but it’s been divided by 0.01

The best way is to go onto TradingView & practice with a paper trading (demo) account first. But some good educational resources explaining it are babypips.com

I go on tradingview and while I’m trying to measure pips for nas100 it’ll show a huge pip count in a very small range. Example, from 15020.0 - 15040.0 shows 200 pips… im thinking I should move the decimal over to the left once so maybe it’s 20 pips but I don’t know for sure..?

Bro I got up to 50 pip but I only got 30 cent. But then again I only got 70 units . So I know if I need more capital o obviously it would be different but I just want to reassure before I do a big investment..really don’t understand the whole unit thing I understand the chart. Would that be considered 11 pips or 9
It depends on what price you entered your market at
If you entered the market at 1.0984 then it moves to 1.0995 that's a 11pip move
but if you entered at 1.0995 then the market moves to 1.0984 that's a 9pip movement
