I was born in blackburn street in number 114 then moved up the pend in 110.. my family all came from there.. would love to hear from u and who ur family were.
Kids from my old neighborhood in East Kilbride, including myself, were in the program, shaking our heads " no", we have not seen a red yo yo. That would have been about 1966. I moved to Los Angeles in 1968 and have since read that the film footage was destroyed in a fire at BBC. My uncle Alec Scott had been the cameraman. Great memory of that day filming.
Im sure thats Plantation where i was born in this video looking down Prob McLean street to the rotunda which was the original clyde tunnel.. was always scared going thru it to partick as there was always water running down the walls.
Great song. Is the street at 0.36 Plantation Street in Plantation ? I ask because I grew up in MacLean Street (two streets away) and my father's first home was in Blackburn Street (the next street along) and that is one of the Rotundas (connected by an under-river tunnel that closed around 1980) in the background.
Wee Annie never existed. Matt was my Godfather. I was crying because I lost my yoyo. Matt started singing the chorus to cheer me up . He later wrote the rest of the song and changed my name to Annie
My grandad used to sing this to me when I was little. RIP Grandad, see you soon :( xxxx
