I’m sure fortune is plenty large enough to split equally between three sons without a fight. Why do things like this happen? It just amazes me. seems to me this ruling is nothing more than an excuse to allow the state to steal wealth. literally anyone can come in and say "hey I have this napkin with me-maws will on it, its legally binding" - unless anyone objects its a done deal.

@@ohwelldobetter3643 i do believe Mrs. Franklin did everything possible to take care of her family, and yes, she should have had a lawyer to take care of her estate but, at some point, grown family should be able to take care of themselves i.e., start a business, pursue a career they enjoy etc.

Her LA entertainment lawyers said she didn't want anybody in your affairs including lawyers. He said he tried for decades to get her estate affairs in a will and she wouldn't even hear of it. His estate value 100 million but lawyers got paid 50million in fee. Shame work all those years just to give it away to lawyers.

The 2014 should override the 2010. Who's ever in charge of the estate should make sure each brother shares is equally. As the Bible says, treat your neighbor as you would treat yourself. Remember your mother couldn't take it with her and neither will you.

Only thing I can think of is why parents do this not leaving a will because maybe the children didn't do them right so they'll let the courts decide take most of the money and give them whatever left

The problem is not the will. She should have placed a trust for all of her peeps whom she felt worthy. My mom's did that for us. When it came time for the release of her estate, none of us had a problem.

I had Aunt father's sister. She DID NOT TRUST BANKS! LONG STORY SHORT SHE SUDDENLY BECAME ILL & WAS HOSPITALIZED. THE FIRST THING HER SISTER'S ASK THE NURSE WHERE WAS HER 👛 PURSE! In my 40 yrs of legal experience.. the spirits of greed, ignorance, nefarious intentions, overly imbued self importance, regardless of socio-economic position, and culture doesn't discriminate!
