  • The South Carolina Adventure Route (SCAR) has continued to improve since its release a year and a half ago. This video recaps some of the improvements included in the Version 11 release of the route, specifically with the "Connector" segment that bisects the route's main "Loop." Thank you to the larger SCAR community for your continued suggestions and feedback--the SCAR would not be what it is without your local expertise and wisdom!
*The South Carolina Adventure Route (SCAR) loops through approximately 1,000 miles of rural South Carolina. Follow it, and you will see mountains, ocean, forests, countryside, state parks, historical sites, and quaint towns--all on a mix of paved and un-paved public roads (approximately 60%/40%). The SCAR also connects to the Smokey Mountains 500, the Georgia Traverse, and the Trans-America Trail (TAT), providing TAT riders with an additional rural coast-to-coast option.

*SCAR information, including downloadable GPS files (.gpx tracks), is available at www.scadventureroute.com

I would definitely add the Angel Oak on Johns island as a way point. Its the largest oak east of the Mississippi. Some dirt to get there too.

Is the passenger seat pad an add on?

Nope. It's the stock 2-piece seat for the standard 890 Adventure.

      A few thoughts…
      (1) Are you downloading from the website (vs trying to get the files from the interactive Google Map, etc)?
      (2) The download file is a compressed .zip file. Are you uncompressing the file (extracting the individual .gpx files) before trying to import the files into Gaia or Rever? The apps will not import the compressed file.

@@tedjones8639 To add to what moto said, fundamentally, you have to get the SCAR files downloaded to your phone (in the right format) and then tell your app to load them.
I use Gaia. I downloaded the SCAR file(s) I wanted onto my phone. I then opened Gaia and clicked the + sign on the map screen. At the bottom of the menu that pops up you will see "import." You have to import each track segment individually. Once you do that, it will show on your map.
