I was at that game and a lot of good people were saved that day by Stokes Naughty 40 who got on the fence to stop the Brum coming in. They were well outnumbered that day but stood and defended that fence like life depended on it and it did. Don’t go in for football fighting but a big thanks to all you game Stoke lads that stopped them at the fence. It stopped a lot of very innocent shirts getting badly hurt for doing no more than turning up to support the team they love. Also well done to the police and some but not all the security staff.

Stoke shit it, on the way back down Garrison Lane and into town. One of theirs was in hospital for weeks and eventually lost his eye. They got hammered after their brave little show on that fence line.
