The weirdest thing about the period story to me is how this lady considered periods to be “adult”. Like, the vast majority of people who get periods start way before adulthood; I myself got it at 10. So unless this lady was part of the (probably very small) minority who gets theirs after turning 18, I don’t know how she could have thought that periods were adult.

Story 5: Based on other entitled parents stories where a kid was saves from near-certain death, it was probably the former. Personally I think the latter, there are a lot of douchebags that will lash out in the worst way if they're made to feel insignificant or like a bad father/husband in any perceived way. Having a stranger save your kid because you weren't paying attention is definitely something that could trigger this reaction. Especially considering he claimed he was "about to save him" after the fact, yet during, when he was TOTALLY about to save his son, he not once yelled that someone was touching his kid or jump in the water to stop op. He only made the accusations after the kid was saved, op explained what happened and I assume a small crowd of on lookers were getting nosy and quickly dropped the bravado after his wife told him to. That doesn't say "Father concerned about a potential child predator" to me, it says "Father worried about saving face after a bruised ego".

In all my rescues (and there were several a week for two decades), aside from run away freakishly fast toddlers, I've only ever been thanked once and that was only because the kid was drowning the parent too. Oh, and apparently I am not in fact entitled to disagree. She said so.) that I failed to notice when he decided the playground wasn't fun enough and went looking for another. So when I found him, some ladies were walking him back, having decided the playground was the most likely origin for a wandering four-year-old at the edge of a park. And I assure you, I was mortified and angry at myself but I only had gratitude for the sharp-minded ladies who found my impulsive little boy.

Story 1: The amount of adults who turn into children over damn parking spots....
Story 2: This is an increasing issue I see with modern parenting. More and more, parents are decried as abusive for having reasonable boundaries and expectations for their kids. To the point it's "good" parenting to be negligent and let them do whatever without consequence, then blame others for not babyproofing the world
Story 3: Typical entitled parent who doesn't want to be a parent. Even when clearly told "no kids", they bring their kids anyways and "oh, I couldn't find a sitter so I guess you have bring him in because how can you be so cruel as to turn away a child who came all this way?"
Story 4: Internalized misogyny combined with a typical entitled parent who refuses to understand no means no and thinks that everything and everyone in the world needs be catered to kids. Sadly, there's also many women alongside men who buy into taboos around periods being shameful, that they need to be hidden because they're terrified of male relatives asking questions or "it's gross", or that the female body is only for male pleasure
Story 5: I have no words for this one.... it's just too crazy but I have heard other entitledparent stories like it. The parent gets angry at someone else for saving their kid's life

I also wouldn't want to meet an adult who has been raised like the kid in that story. If the kid is happy with kicking an elderly woman's cane, but then gets more aggressive after being told the lady could fall makes me think that child is going to grow up believing it's okay to hurt others.

"Internalized misogyny" is quite the stretch. Periods are "adult" cause small kids literally don't get them. No, what that actually was was a parent who doesn't know how to parent, thinking the kids must be protected from even a whiff of a real world. People having periods or adults going to the zoo don't fit in the carefully controlled world of her kid so she is throwing a tantrum. The poor kid will grow up broken.

I'll tell a cute wholesome kids in a hotel story, since you see so many horrors.
I went to a convention with a group of my fiance's friends. One of them brought his young daughter along (6-7 kinda age) and she was super well behaved! There was one time when the other adults wanted to go out and have a couple drinks, but since I don't drink, I offered to stay in the room with her. I ended up laughing and playing with her in the room (nothing that made a mess, just gently tossing her onto the bed) until we both got tired.

Gave kid a nasty look, and mom lost her mind. Tried to make me the bad person, and even get my husband to take her side. Iirc, she tried to make me the bad person because I don't know how hard it is to have kids. I popped back with the fact I can't have kids. She tried to keep going but I just turned around and ignored her, as did everyone else.

I worked at a high end resort for a few years, and people LOVE to try and raise the stakes because then they can play victim. I've had people purposefully book the wrong room or show up with more than the agreed upon party and then scream and shout that WE'RE the ones being unreasonable, and at that point, you either risk a bad review and someone throwing a tantrum in front of your guests, or kowtowing and giving them what they ask. It's a lose-lose situation for the hotel and they know it. Ugh.

Honestly, parents can be some of the most entitled people in the world. I’ve heard parents constantly complain about not having anything to do with their families and how thrill seekers get everything (I’ve heard these complaints in a Cedar Point Facebook group and a Major League Baseball Facebook group). When in reality it’s quite the opposite. Many places, parks, tourist attractions, sporting events, etc. are either hesitant to or are outright resistant to appealing to thrill seekers. Keep in mind, while thrill rides at amusement parks are usually larger and more expensive than family rides, parks will have at best 15 total rides for thrill seekers and 40-70 rides for families and kids.

Nearly 100% of Entitled Parents stories begin with a kid being unhappy and a parent wanting everyone else to do whatever it will take to make the kid not be unhappy. It all boils down to laziness and embarrassment. Basically...kid throws tantrum, parent wants tantrum to stop so they don't get judged and/or so they don't have to be bothered by their kid, parent completely loses all contact with reality when someone tells them no.

I really hope the Mom talked him out of it by saying "If you do this I will tell the truth and YOU will be arrested for making a false report of a crime!".

Th that first story was so close to rhyming it’s driving me nuts. Here is my rendition (go easy, I threw this together in 20 min)
About 3 months ago, new neighbors opened a daycare next door
The kids were fine, but the parents were a chore
One dad named “Jim” didn’t know where to park his truck
Cause he’s an entitled parent and didn’t give a F****
He decided our driveway was where he would pick
That was fine, until my room mate got a new crown Vic
Jim didn’t like this, no he did not
There was a car in his parking spot!
So he honked and he honked, made a lot of noise
Much to the shame of his two young boys
“You’re in my spot!” He shouted, his face burning red
“This is my driveway” I replied, “why not park in the street instead”
“Don’t tell me what to do!” He whumpfed and he whined
“Whatever” I said, went inside, and left him behind
Two days went by with no sign of Jim
Our neighbors gave us a pie to apologize for him
On day three, Jimbo honked and returned
My roommate and I go outside, concerned
“Your pants make you look gay” Jim cried
“Only when I’m sucking D” my roommate replied
The next day, the cops sent a car to investigate the complaint
Jim arrived and showed no restraint
He drove up in his ugly sedan
Rolled down the window, and the honking began
But this time, what joy! Justice prevailed
Jim got arrested and went off to jail
Now the lesson here is all but transparent
It never pays to be an entitled parent
