Anyone with a brain knows presidents control the price of fuel or products made by private companies. Funny how holiday shopping has broken records the last two years.
Fuel isn't getting that much cheaper as long as the EU has an energy supply issue, and that issue won't be helped a whole lot by the US starting a trade war against the EU. And the shopping cost is tied to that energy supply issue. Fundamentally, why sell energy cheaply in the US if the EU will pay enough to make it more profitable to ship it over there?
Now tell me how Trump policies actually improve shopping costs?
Import tariffs add a tax on imports. That doesn't make anything cheaper.
Getting low-paying jobs from abroad back to the US means a lot of jobs become subject to min wage. That doesn't make anything cheaper.
