This seriously explains why a lot of songs were so Camila heavy, not dissing her it's just her voice isn't really soulful as the other 4 ladies. Like you knew which songs were going to be more Lauren, Normani, Dinah, and or Ally-centric then Camila influenced. The ones that were more R&Bish and definitely "All In My Head (Flex)" needed the more soulful sounds. Also, why besides the label wanting to promote Camila more, why many of the unreleased music never made it to Reflection, or 7/27, like "Over". The Producers and the Label wanting the 4 more soulful sounding girls to limit their vocal abilities are so disrespectful. This is also why people were saying Normani had the weakest voice which wasn't true. It's because she was having to force her voice to do things it wasn't supposed to do in the more Camila heavy songs or do harmonies over getting big solo parts.
No wonder the girls lost so much confidence, creativity, looked sad. Imagine them going in the studio and giving 100%, then in post being told....yeah that was too good..and too soulful, we are going to throw away your work or lower your voice and just put you in the background.... It would of drive me crazy. You can tell in self titled era they def had more control (equal parts, and more r&b sounds).
Well, for their self-titled, they actually did have control. They got to write all the songs on the album and have creative freedom over their music, which they couldn't do before.
Epic sucks, they are like a parasite. They over work their artists, doesn't treat them right, and suck the joy out of the artists. As long as your bringing in cash and do what they want, they will keep you around.
Dinah deserves better.
This is why Lauren barely existed in Worth it
Wasn't it bcs her grandmother passed away ? So she was at the funreal unsted of singing the studio version of the song?
Alexandra Dun no that’s a false rumor. Producers get to decide who sings what

THANK YOU!
Wow indeed you will never know what happens behind the scenes . I am happy they are all going to show us their true sides.
Yes i so agree
Dinah and ally deserved more
“too soulful”... that’s a compliment in my book. They were just intimidated by her talent so they didn’t let her shine
