    Just found one trying to cross a busy road after a spring shower. No time for anymore children, so I'll take him to a large farm with several ponds. Beautiful animal.

      Just be careful, boxers can swim but not too well. They’ll know where to go when they are in the field :)

    found one of these lil guys living under my family’s barn the last time we visited. We mostly left him alone since he had picked a safe spot to set up shop that was out of the way of anything dangerous, plus it’s just cool to have a colorful little turtle hanging around. Gave him a couple bait worms my brother had in his truck and he was a big fan lol

    I saw one here in the Durham area!!! I was so amazed. He had beautiful, bright orange polka dots on his legs. I'd never seen anything so exotic. I spotted while out walking in the vicinity of a public school that's surrounded by woods. He'd fallen off a curb on a very hot day. So, even though I was afraid of him, I picked him up and placed him in the cool, dewy grass. Hopefully, he found his way back into the woods. Thanks for the information!!

    I have an eastern box turtle and a sulcatta that's about 6 months old. Their both really cool and I love them as family pets but recently my box turtle has almost completely stopped eating so Im getting a lil worried about him.. I've done alot of research on both species about how to care for them. Their both kept indoors for the time being and both have done great up to this point.. I have plans on giving the box turtle a much bigger enclosure soon so I'm hoping that helps the eating situation.

    Im aware that this is an older video but i need advice, i have 2 baby box turtles with the youngest being 42 days old and the oldest is around 6 months, i was wondering if it would be safe for them to cohabitate with a tortoise that has the same living conditions and is a non aggressive juvenile (i assume around 2 years old) ive had a lot of trouble finding information on this- if need be i can quarantine them for a while then possibly introduce them?

    Hey I just found one in the middle of the road thankfully he's okay he's the exact same size he's a beautiful should I keep him or release him it's just that there's no rivers around here I was thinking maybe he's a pet

    • @herphunters5475
      @herphunters5475  2 года назад +1

      You should definitely let him go. They aren't aquatic, a river isn't necessary. You also run the risk of breaking your state laws.

      They are very resilient. I'd just put her back. Depending on your state, it might actually be illegal to keep

      @@herphunters5475 I'm in south Carolina. So it's legal I think. But i do you think that I should try to breed it first? Cause i know someone who has a male turtle. Or should I just let he go now.

    • @herphunters5475
      @herphunters5475  3 года назад

      With the new laws in SC, I believe you can only posses 2 easterns now. So breeding would technically out you over the limit.

      @@herphunters5475 dude I let it go this morning in my backyard. And I found out that it DIED. I'm not sure how but I think it over heated cause it was 90 degrees today. I'm trying to save her. But it isn't responding what should I do? I'm trying to do chest compressions. And I've tried sitting her down in cool water but nothing's working

    I can't believe this RUclips is suggesting you keep one as a pet. Please, please, please don't collect and keep them as pets. Don't move them from their home territory, their home territory is smaill. Move them off the road in the direction they are going. I find them on the farm, photograph them, move them out of the way when mowing the field, but put them back where I find them when finished mowing

      The subject was information and care.... which were in the video. I understand it may not be a full care video, but we touched on it some aspects of care. Sorry it bothered you that much man.
