Thanks man. I found a corn snake in my garage. Scared me to just happen on it. A quick google found out what it was. Gonna try to get it out of the garage tomorrow. Put it outside
I was bitten on my hand by a copperhead while gardening, and what they don't tell you is that it can re-open from time to time and ulcer, which itches like crazy, burns and oozes. It's been 5 years and it's re-opened 3 times.
Thank you! Saw a cool snake by the tire of my car tonight. Was just curious about what kind he is. Pretty sure he’s a corn snake. When I jostled the car to get stuff out of it, he headed off into the night.
Thanks so much for this video. I am new to the Southern USA, and I would never hurt a snake. I agree 100% with what you say, just to leave snakes alone if you see them. They won't hurt you unless you threaten them. Leave them be. Unfortunately I know a lot of people in Georgia where I live who say that if they see a snake, they will kill it just to be safe. Makes me angry.
The name for their eyes are elliptical (ellipse, elliptic). It's basically how cat eyes can get when they assume a diamond/oval shape as it narrows. Only difference is that cat eyes can expand into a huge "O" or relax where as snake eyes are either an "o" or elliptical "0". Elliptical snakes are always typically venomous with a few exception. Great video, Hunter.
People assume venomous is a personality trait. Venomous just means they inject a toxic compound through their fangs (injecting) rather than you rubbing into it like an oil substance like cream coating. Poison is contact, venom is injected. Any snake without venom is a constrictor, meaning they have to sufficate their prey by using their coils to squeeze and subdue, or else no meal. Venomous snakes do not keep pumping venom, they inject once and let it settle in. It is not an aggressive killer. It can be equated with someone who shoots ONCE over 500 rounds into something.
