I would like to see more on some of the folks who do really well in the EBI Quarterfinals, but didn't necessarily win. I watch those from beginning to end. So many new people with great games and new moves. I watched your recent profile with Grace Gundrum, she is amazing now. I am really looking forward to seeing her more. Props to her on her 10P Black Belt!
Geo reminds me of that one small kid on the mat who always looks innocent until he picks you and you quickly end up questioning why you started rolling in the first place.
These guys are lethal. I never get tired of watching these breakdowns. As an untrained bjj fan, watching how they set things up, and how technical the art has become blows my mind.
Geo really broadened his front headlock game. I remember watching a lot of his Japanese neckties and darces. Then his guillotines hit another level. Just with the size difference in this match, and the switch off from arm-in to high-elbow, I think this is one of the cleanest guillotine finishes of all time!
I'm glad there is zero dislikes. Because it's impossible not to like this. It's almost moving. So beautiful makes me wanna cry. Perfect sound track Trickster. I wonder if Martinez studied this guy or he just went with the flow.
true I must add to this that we shouldn't devalue Rida because of his size advantage in this tourney. before losing to Freakhazoid he, a brown belt, tapped out 4(FOUR!) black belts including Geo's big brother Richie. crazy feat
I remember seeing Geo finish Rida. It was one of the most shocking moments of me watching grappling. Lachlan Giles taking Silver in the absolutes at ADCC is still my number 1 shocker.
Man I have to admit. We didn't learned a lot of self defence moves on the ground in the infantry. It was pretty basic BJJ and kill moves. But seeing this all being broke down step by step is wonderful and eye opening. I know how the body works and how it can break, from a standing position but from your back gaining control like those guys are doing...very humbling. We learned that if we gave or were on our back = dead... but this is so impressive. Thank you for the in depth breakdown of each moves and for the time you took to do those videos. Pretty damn cool Trickster!!! You got a sub!!! Cheers!!
F-ing amazing as always!!! I've learned so much during QUARANTINE with these videos. My girlfriend doesn't appreciate me practicing on her however lol 🤼♀️
Met Haisam in Japan, he's huge & I'm still dumbfounded and a little salty too 😂 how geo pulled that off. I was hoping for complete domination from Rida. Breakdown his match (2 of them) with Lachlan Giles.
Now try fighting a 95 kilo stocky guy with short neck and limbs. For a smaller guy it gets exponencially harder to pull off any submission including the one on the video.
Well yeah, but it's also harder on the stocky guy in some respects. Like he'd be far less flexible, have shorter limbs, probably bulkier ones as well, he'd need to force his game to win.
@@Deathskull0001 Yes, there are pros and cons. A lot depends on your own pros and cons. Stalky guys with are generally much stronger compared to tall guys with same weight. And shorter limbs offer less leverage for the small guy. Here is an extreme analogy. Skilled 10 year old child can't do anything to adult because of how extreme strength difference is. When small guy faces tall guy, strength difference is not as extreme compared to stalky guy, so he is less likely to get overpowered. Combine that with the factor that it is easier to wrap your arms around their neck and other body parts for the smaller guy.
@@arhael3594 I mean, that's a pretty broad statement. I'll agree with you that this particular sequence may have been a lot more difficult, but something else may have been far easier, like grabbing the neck from the get go. Also short and stocky doesn't necessarily mean more power, as the overall muscle mass can be similar and the taller guy can use leverage, reach, keep you at a distance better, etc. A short guy with a ton of muscle would gas out faster due to his smaller frame supporting all that muscle as well. But, I mean it's all down to how well you adapt to your oponent really. Ultimately even Francis Ngannou can get choked out by anyone, it's how you get there, lol.
Wrestling and BJJ is the best in a one on one situation. Comming from a muay thai amateur ex-fighter. Strikes can end a fight quicker but much more unreliable. On the other hand a beginner can drop a pro with a lucky punch. In BJJ there are not many surprises if your technic is superior.
@@m5a1stuart83 no, not in most jiujitsu rulesets. Some really intense tournaments that is allowed but it's usually ruled as unnecessarily dangerous for competitors because there's no technique in slamming someone
Granted, how this tends to happen in comps is why BJJ is a risky discipline to get into unless you're planning to compete in it. Any training is better than none, but in a true fighting situation, being comfortable staying on your back is a great way to get taken out. Wrestling is incomplete itself, but at the least, it teaches you to work aggressively on the ground and fight for the dominant position. Even if you take me to the ground, if I can get to the aggressive position, I can choose to stand up or rain down hits far more easily. As far as comps go, I understand the no slamming, but it was always shockingly stupid that they don't have some kind of potential for danger stoppage if a guy chooses to cling to someone standing up. It's cheaply taking advantage of the fact that once you get to a certain point he may as well tap because even if you don't have him submitted, about all he can do is try to stand and shake you off and by then it's 50/50 whether your back touches the mat and he gets DQ'd

10p has that guillotine sequence as part of their warmup, as Eddie mentioned it's giant killer move.
