Just a small addition for example, if you work for 2 years in germany and then 3 yrs in Netherlands, then one can still be eligible for EU PR . The condition is one needs to stay a minimum of 18 months in a single country so that your stay will be counted.
You are not eligible for EU PR because you broke residency in one of the EU countries and moved to other country. But in 2024 EU is proposing a new law which will retrospectively take into account all EU residence and may support towards getting faster EU citizenship in the new country of your residence ..but this is in draft proposal. And individual EU member state may or may not accept this proposal.
Hi Arun, thanks for the info. I guess it will also be worth mentioning/clarifying that with EU-PR one cannot work/access Ireland/Denmark (or previously the UK).
Can you please make videos on German citizenship requirements and it’s upcoming changes? The new government last year mentioned in their manifestos that they are going to give citizenship in 5 years instead of 8 years. Secondly option for dual nationality. I think this bill is not passed yet and might have delayed due to Ukraine war. Can you please try to get information off its status and make a video? That will be support hit video for you as well as viewers 😉.
Great video, but 1 thing is still not clarified: Can someone (having 21 months of social (Renten Versicherung) contribution paid and B1 level German certification in Germany) apply for EU PR ?
Hi, thanks for the information, please I wish to enquire if a holder of a resident permit, married to a German can be excluded from paying fees as an eu student. Or do they also have to pay fees like a non_ eu person
Thank you so much! Finally it is more or less clear! Thank you! Just one question. If I move with this EU permanent permit from Germany to work in another EU country, would it be possible to come back to Germany in case I would change my mind? Or if you are moving you have to exchange the document to the one, temporary, from another country? Thank you 🙏
Hi Arun, nice info. May be one suggestion for next video. Recently I applied for Niederlassungserlaubnis. There was an option given to either keep both Blue card and Niederlassungserlaubnis. Or you can return the Blue card. I was not sure what are the advantages or disadvantages of this. One thing which I came to know was that once you have Niederlassungserlaubnis then calling a dependent means he/she has to have German knowledge. Which is not the case with Blue card. But these are all speculation. When asked to KVR, till date I am waiting for an answer. May be you can put this info in the next video. Thanks Suchir
Hi Arun, Very informative video 👍👍 Can you also make one video on "If we should take company insurance schemes if not planning to stay in Germany until retirement". There's been a lot of confusion if we can withdraw that money immediately while leaving the country or it can only be withdrawn after retirement.
Hi Arun, Nice informative video :) Can you please tell me the difference between the Niederlassungserslaubnis 18C Abs1 and 18C Abs2 S3 (Hochqualifizierte)?
What’s the additional use for PR if I plan to stay only for 3-5 years. Are there any other advantages which we may not benefit from if we are continuing extend the blue card?
Very useful video, thanks a lot. Question : If EU PR is issued from another EU member state (example : Austria or Hungary), is it same 6 years rule valid as well or it is valid for only EU PR issued in Germany ? Thanks alot
Thanks so much for this video, very informative. Just one question from me: Do we need to pay the compulsory or voluntary contributions to statutory pension insurance for at least 60 months to get this EU permit? I am asking because I‘ve been living in Germany for 5 years but only paying pension insurance for 3 years (my first 2 years were spent doing my Master). Thanks in advance for your answer 😊
My wife is from Poland and she lives in Germany more than 10 years and we got married last year and I was given 5 years German residence permit and in my permit it was written EU family
Thanks for making this video. I have a small question. Hope for your kind reply. If I plan to leave Germany and at the same time hold my EU Permanent Residence by paying a visit to Germany once (for a few days) per year, is that possible? Thanks in advance.
Very useful video, thanks a lot. My question : If EU PR is issued from another EU member state (example : Germany), if I go to work to Austria on permanent role, do I use the Germany EU PR? does time spent in Germany will count in Austria for passport or similar issues. what about contract job in Austria? Hello, I read that if you have the Niederlassungserlaubnis and you are married with a german citizen you can stay longer than 6 months outside of Germany, is that true?
According to § 51 Beendigung der Rechtmäßigkeit des Aufenthalts; Fortgeltung von Beschränkungen, if you're holding a Niederlanssungserlaubnis for more than 15yrs, there is no time limit on how long you can stay outside Germany. (1) Der Aufenthaltstitel erlischt in folgenden Fällen: 1. Ablauf seiner Geltungsdauer, 2.

Hi Arun, thxx again for making informative video.lets say if someone has EU PR & after living 8 years in both Germany or any other Europe country, can someone still eligible for German citizenship? Thanks for an answer.

Hi Arun, thanks for making these informative videos. It's really helpful. I have a question regarding getting VAT ID. Currently I am working with a company and on a blue card residence permit. It's been only 24 months since I came to Germany so I don't have the permanent residence card. I wanted to know whether I am eligible to apply for VAT ID knowing that I am working with a company as a full time employee? I was doing some research around it but couldn't find anything. I want to sell some of my photo prints online but they need VAT ID in order to get paid. Could you please help me with this? Thanks in advance!
The difference of 6 months and 12 months outside of EU was new to me... Thanks for the info and the video!
