I came here 10 years later just to listen to the Tar21 again. This gun has the best sound in cod history for me. My favourite weapon of all time on cod
Bf2042 got you reminiscing too? It’s such a nostalgic gun to use in games. Did you know the dxr is the DSR and the SWX-10 is based on the ballista from BO2?? These devs were definitely cod boys back in the day!
I run this with a suppressor, sleight of hand, stopping power, and ninja. I really miss when the Tar 21 was around. This thing packed a huge punch in close quarters.
The Tar was the gun I finally used to get better with. Absolutely love it, so naturally this is the first one I watched. I really liked your style of getting your information out.
@SoldierOfBreath My overall KD is something like 1.5. More interestingly: In the making of this video, 1,157 people were killed while I died 556 times. For the TAR-21 across all attachments my average KDR was 2.08.
This and the M4 are my favorite Assault Rifles when I use them. I love the fact that this can behave similarly to an SMG with FMJ/Silencer and Steady Aim.
not the best everybody spams one man army noob tubes and run around with dual rangers and or run around with spas 12, the game would be awesome of some perks and stuff were remade
I got so used to this weapon's recoil in MW2 that it's like 2nd nature in BF3 when I'm using the M-TAR. The recoil patterns in this game is relatively similar to the M-TAR's patterns in BF3.
I love the Tar! I use a Tar 21 bling pro with Fmj and holographic site and I also carry a spass with forgrip and fmj. It's absolutely LETHAL at close to medium range. And the tar is also underrated at longe range. If you can aim well and control your bursts, it's even great then
I miss these days, even if they do remaster it things will never be the same..everyone complains how OP everything was but in my opinion that is what made it so good
Old video but I still need to say it's my favorite AR in MW2. It's TTK was super quick which is the main reason I loved it so much. It also at least has some amount of recoil (even if it's still really low and barely requires compensation) unlike pretty much every other AR but the F2000 and the AK to some extent.
These weapon guides by xbox ahoy are the only youtube weapon videos that I trust, I only wish that all of the black ops vids were on his channel, for those like me who don't have elite premium.
My favorite class when I played MW2 was TAR-21 w/ FMJ, extended clip Raffica, Extreme Conditioning, Stopping Power and Commando, and it was so much fun. Until someone made me mad and then it was time to break out the Toob/RPG with Danger Close and Scavenger
The IWI Micro-Tavor Assault rifle (the weapon in this video) Was made in both a 5.56x45mm and a 9mm platform, the two weapons are so similar that a soldier could use one of them, then use the next one without needing any further training.
I remember a year after I bought my IWI TAR-21 this game dropped. I was so excited to see my rifle I use for everything in a COD game. So I posted a video of of the real thing, my tacticooled out TAR-21 on my channel for all to see. Enjoy.
It is funny, that a 7.62x51mm bullet is more powerful at 800 meters than a .357 Magnum bullet at point blank range. And a 9mm can kill with two shots at a close range and three at a distance when using Stopping Power. Fuck logics? YES!
Love this gun so much, very versatile and very powerful in medium to close range. It's also powerful without stopping power as well so you could by more flexible with picking another red perk. But here's a recommendation for a very offensive slayer class TAR-21 w/ FMJ or Silencer Sleight of Hand Pro Stopping power Ninja Semtex and silencer Secondary: Akimbo rangers or Raffica with any attachment
I refer to the TAR-21 and FAD as the "SMG killers" because they have near-identical characteristics to the MW2 UMP45 (for the TAR) and the MP7 (for the FAD)
I got the most attachments and camos with the tar 21 during the time I had it. I liked using tar 21 idk what attach stinger idk what perks were minus the second, cold blood (supper useful with sentries.) stun grenade and throwing knife. Blue perk was mostly scavenger(just remembered) I would have to say it was my favorite gun in the game!
I'm back. Tried the TAR-21 again after getting everything for the F2000. It's leagues ahead of the F2000, and I've tweaked my load out a little to suit my needs. TAR-21 FMJ M1014 Grip (will get Extended Mags soon) Blue: Scavenger Pro Red: Cold-Blooded Pro Yellow: Ninja Pro Death Streak: Martyrdom It's not the best loadout, but there are a few reasons why I chose these perks, as well as a shotgun rather than a machine pistol or handgun. I found myself spending time a lot outside buildings and very often will you meet people who will call in air support. In order to maintain an aggressive role, I chose Cold-Blooded. Because my name doesn't show up either, I managed to use a mix between Stealth and Assault Tactics in large, medium, and small maps. Because the TAR-21 and the M1014 have decent firepower, it wasn't too much of a problem for me to utilize this load out. I noticed also that the reload speed on the TAR-21 is significantly faster than the SCAR-H and the F2000 as well, making Scavenger an excellent perk in addition with FMJ. This means you can be aggressive towards the opposition while staying out of sight and finding opportunities to flank others. Picking off snipers from a far distance was also not a problem because of FMJ and Cold-Blooded. Tap-firing and bursting will come in handy, and it's almost as controllable as the AK-47's. And with bullet penetration on your side here, people will find that it's not as easy to stay in cover as they thought. The M1014 was chosen because my load out when I first started using the weapon included an AA-12. While the automatic fire appealed to me, it didn't help me very well due to the recoil. The M1014 may also have four shells at first, but because of the reload speed, and its decent firepower, I found this weapon to be quite useful with the TAR-21, and in many cases. Much of the maps I've played in have tight, close-quarter areas where the TAR-21's recoil in close-quarter combat may put you at a disadvantage. But with the M1014, it's not so bad anymore. If you can time switching between weapons right in certain circumstances, you'll be able to survive longer. I speculate that using Extended Mags with the M1014 may make this easier as well. With Cold-Blooded Pro and Ninja Pro, you also have the element of surprise at your disposal for the M1014, a handy tactic which is also seen from the aggressive use of the TAR-21. Overall, after viewing Ahoy's two videos on the weapons, I knew I had to find a way to mix things up a little in order to make this load out work. So does it work? Yes. Is it the best load out? Probably not. Ahoy's videos have much better load outs than mine. But I'm more than happy to say that I did so good with this load out that people started to copy my class, even more so than when I used the F2000. I was also surprised at how big of a gap there was for me when switching quickly between the TAR-21 and the M1014. Being the perfect stealth weapon (in my opinion), the TAR-21, in addition to the element of surprise of the M1014 make this load out suitable to my tastes. Many opportunities are to be had when you're blended within your surroundings, yet can go loud and be unpredictable at the same time. I encourage the use of mixed tactics with this load out because you will find that there are also many possibilities with what you can do with the TAR-21 and the M1014.
The SCAR and TAR actually have near-identical reload times; the TAR has better reload with a bullet left in the chamber, but the SCAR's faster empty. I like your loadout, but I'd switch your M1014 for AA-12 or rangers. Recoil shouldn't be a factor when using the AA-12s. The cone of fire and close effective range means that you can't really miss your target even if you wanted to. If this is still an issue just don't ADS and say goodbye to your recoil troubles. Then again, the TAR's already extremely good at close range. You might want to consider using a pistol to compensate for its slow draw time when in an ugly situation. The big gap you're facing when switching the two weapons is explained by the TAR's slow draw/put away speed and the M1014's only average speed. The use of FMJ on a non-stopping power TAR is debatably useful. If someone's behind good cover and you don't have stopping power there's a good chance that you won't be able to kill them with or without FMJ. The TAR's damage and fire rate are so good I've found that it's very effective even silenced/FMJ. Either way I wouldn't use FMJ on it necessarily, heartbeat or silencer are probably better options.
In BO2 the bullet damage was lowered universally. Much like how most weapons in MW2 kill in 3-4 bullets, BO2 guns typically kill in 3-6. Because of this, the MTAR and TAR-21 are virtually identical, as far as handling and performance are concerned.
my tar-21 class (I'm back bitchs) tar-21:suppresser scavenger pro stoppingpower pro ninja pro claymore stun M9:EX-mags if you used this class please tell me your score :)
+Skull jk I use the same class except I use a shotgun as a secondary. If you use a shotgun secondary you essentially get a fourth perk (Overkill) for free.
The mtar is the smaller version of the tar 21. In terms of the in game portrayals of the guns, the tar 21 has higher recoil and damage, whereas the mtar is more versatile. The general opinion in the community is that the tar 21 is better than the mtar, but the mtar is still good on it's own right.
***** maybe but tjeres something that ruins my experience in the gameplay, but i like it very much exept when the guy says "spy plane" i hate that is netter the uav
In GoldenEye 007 Wii, this is known as the Ivana Spec-R. I use it with a silencer, but I'll switch to a laser pointer for a map where the combat is close range.
The TAR is my favourite 40-30 AR to use. The SCAR-H has too slow ROF for me, and i don't like the AK's iddle sway, and recoil with any attachment used. The TAR is balanced by a couple of reasons, and easy to use. My preferred setup is the silencer with stopping power. The range loss isn't has any effect with the stopping power.
Yes, the MP40 was OP but there was so much other great balanced things, great maps and awesome era and feel of the game. My personal favorite was WaW. But i can see why some people wouldn't like it.
I used to run this setup for team tactical objective game's Tar 21+m203 ranger+Akimbo semtex/tactical insertion marathon Pro lightweight Pro cammando Pro Painkiller Basically abuses closr range DPS and constantly throw yourself at the objective explosives clearing out enemies who are dug in. rangers to counter painkiller or clear a room
The fire rate on the Tavor is 750 rpm. the fire rate on the FAD is 1000 rpm. Most assault rifles handle identically. the recoil on the FAD is heavier then the Tavor. Most assault rifles are designed for the same general purpose. They are both bullpup, but other than that, they each look pretty distinct. They don't sound any more similar than any of the other rifles. That's barely any more than sights.
My first gun i got fall camo with. I always played with 2 classes, both with one man army 1st class was Tar-21 with silencer, cold-blooded and ninja 2nd class was Tar-21 with grenade launcher, danger close and commando. I started with the 2nd class to get an easy few kills then i switched to the 2nd class when going for a nuke
the damage and recoil remains almost the same, the shots to kill at a distance was increased by 1 but the recoil was lowered, and the rpm still remains the same
@TheJohngate7 I find the Single shot to be an awesome idea. But Burst fire is completely useless with this weapon , specially because of it's exagerated recoil.
I don't recommend Stopping Power for an agressive class. The fire rate is quick enough that you won't notice the third shot. Lightweight Pro is great for getting ready quicker after running. The silencer is overall amazing as long as you know how to handle the weapon.
The TAR-21 is infact an assualt rifle, if you are reffaring to the BF3 MTAR-21, just read the name of the weapon, the MTAR is a carabine/smg veriant of the original TAR-21.
Love using this gun silenced. I think the only competetor for a silenced weapon against this one is the UMP45. This is mainly because of the muzzle flash on the TAR-21, but once that is mastered, it is a much more deadly weapon.
so what they're different games, its like your saying the MTAR is competing against 2hk weapons when its clearly not. and the recoil really isnt a problem i use the MTAR a lot (in my top 5) and by your logic i imagine other guns that killed in x bullets in Mdub2 now kill in x+1 bullets in BO2 so what they're different games
The TAR21 and the F2000 red dot sights have the added benefit of not being taken out by an EMP.

Why is this gun a high damage weapon if it only fires the 5.56mm?
Because cod has "balance"

The same reason a 9mm pistol can 3 shot someone while the 7.62mm M240 takes 4 shots to drop someone - "balance".
+Charlie WithaQ Dat logic though

If anyone is interested, you can actually look at the full Heartbeat sensor when ADSing with the Tar-21's red-dot sight
The l86 lsw has a unique acog sight and the f2000 has a unique red dot sight
Yes, the MP40 was OP but there was so much other great balanced things, great maps and awesome era and feel of the game. My personal favorite was WaW. But i can see why some people wouldn't like it.
Hands down
Probably the best bullpup assault rifle in cod history
Emiliano Sanchez black ops Famas
Man I love the way you say "duration"
The Tar21 in MW2 was a 2 shot kill with SP. Big difference.
videos so helpful... kd has improved greatly since watching your vids..keep up the good work
The tavor is freaking amazing in cod games
MTAR-21 - an SMG/Carabine variant of the TAR-21, which is an assualt rife.
I used to run this setup for team tactical objective game's
Tar 21+m203
ranger+Akimbo
semtex/tactical insertion
marathon Pro
lightweight Pro
cammando Pro
Painkiller
Basically abuses closr range DPS and constantly throw yourself at the objective explosives clearing out enemies who are dug in. rangers to counter painkiller or clear a room
the tar ismy favorite gun in the cod series ever...great gun
Good to hear, I prefer MW2 over any new COD. In my opinion it the best game overall, multiplayer and single player.
That's barely any more than sights.
this game was so awesome, every weapon was overpowered and therefore balanced :P
I got my first nuke with this gun and the spas
@TheJohngate7 IW might as well do that for all assault rifles because the ability to change fire modes is a key characteristics for all.
XboxAhoy from the future!
My first gun i got fall camo with.
I always played with 2 classes, both with one man army
1st class was Tar-21 with silencer, cold-blooded and ninja
2nd class was Tar-21 with grenade launcher, danger close and commando.
I started with the 2nd class to get an easy few kills then i switched to the 2nd class when going for a nuke
Imagine if the MTAR in BO2 had the same damage profile as the TAR-21 w/ stopping power. It'd probably be deemed overpowered.
the damage and recoil remains almost the same, the shots to kill at a distance was increased by 1 but the recoil was lowered, and the rpm still remains the same
@TheJohngate7 I find the Single shot to be an awesome idea.
@TheChattounet tar has a faster rate of fire, and the ump has smaller crosshairs and you run faster and aim down sights faster.
there a two versions. Barrel length decides whether a rifle is an assualt rifle or a carbine. In this game its a rifle in bf3 its a carbine.
The TAR-21 is infact an assualt rifle, if you are reffaring to the BF3 MTAR-21, just read the name of the weapon, the MTAR is a carabine/smg veriant of the original TAR-21.
@EmoLayingInBlood FYI, its called the MARS Sight.
@TheJohngate7 true, a burt and a single fire mode would be very useful for long ranges
my favorite weapon of all-time!!
Yes, thier DLC usually includes weapons as well as maps.
@silyanina to put it in English, Carbines bridge the gap between SMG's and assault rifles.
Love using this gun silenced. I think the only competetor for a silenced weapon against this one is the UMP45. This is mainly because of the muzzle flash on the TAR-21, but once that is mastered, it is a much more deadly weapon.
When RepZ was still around I used to use a silenced tar with Stinger, Scavenger Pro, Ninja and I think possibly Stopping Power.
so what they're different games, its like your saying the MTAR is competing against 2hk weapons when its clearly not.
and the recoil really isnt a problem i use the MTAR a lot (in my top 5)
and by your logic i imagine other guns that killed in x bullets in Mdub2 now kill in x+1 bullets in BO2 so what they're different games
