- Here's one from the archives. While on my way to Austin TX, I was able to hop on one of the oldest American MD82's still active in 2013. This is back when the S80 fleet was just under 200 ships flying. I don't remember any of the details of the flight except that this was seat 25F.
This flight was paid by me for a confirmed ticket.
Awesome video, brings back some great memories! Can’t wait to see the trip report for AA80 eventually!
Awesome video! I only flew on a couple AA Maddogs, but I spotted the last takeoff from KMCI before the retirement, which was N984TW. You know you were in better days when you still had Silverbirds flying around!
Love the Madogs!
Nothing like the sound of that engine nothing else sounds like it.
I almost shit myself reading this. I thought for just a moment that the nightmare was reversed and the old girls have come back from the dead. Nice to see some older footage of a simpler time Loved that one world 777-2 in the all silver. Even the united connection in the tulip livery. Crazy just how much things change just even 7 years ago.....
I thought they retired all of these planes?
