How to Know Your Calling from God: What's God Purpose for My Life?

- When you can answer these two questions, you will know what your calling is from God.
What do you enjoy and what does the world need? When you only enjoy something, it's not your calling from God. It's a hobby. When you help people but don't enjoy it, it's not a calling from God it's a job. Neither jobs or hobbies are bad. But God's calling on your life will be the place where your desire meets the world's need. So if you want to know your calling from God, you have to pursue your passion while seeking to benefit the world for God's glory.

I'm 16 and deep in my heart, I always desire to help children and those less fortunate people. Especially those homeles kids and people, sleeping in cold streets. My heart tightens whenever I think that there are people sleeping outside, cold and sometimes showered in rain, with nowhere to go. Just imagining to actually help those people makes me feel great. So now, I'm starting to save money for them. Then when I grow up, I can then help them. 🤗

"Be still" in Greek can also translate to "let it go." Let go of your stresses and give them to God. Great verse!

Have an attitude saying "you know what, sure, i don't know the answers right now, i feel confused, things are hard right now, But GOD is GOOD and he will, he will show, deliver, reveal, and help me with all that i ask, he is GOD, Therefore i Will leave it to him and not worry, I'm in good hands"... That can be hard to do. So fight for that truth! Read those promises of God! Dwell on them! Say them out loud! Repeat them!

That is a generic calling all Christians have. A calling for an individual is different as explained in the video. You are not thinking big enough or specific enough. You may be called by God to be a teacher for a job to pay the bills, but your passion may be building churches in 3rd world countries...that is a personal calling. See the difference?

A job is what you to to be paid you don't necessarily have to like your job. When you lice it so much that you have exceptional skills in a particular job. You can make a career. A spiritual calling is how Christ will use the gifts he has given you to help people to come to know him.
I am currently 18 and about to go to college to become a pediatrician. I have been struggling for some time with my relationship with God. I want to build my relationship with him and hear his voice. But I’ve been struggling. I want to know my purpose that God has created for me and fix my relationship with him before it’s to late.

I’m not in a spot where I want to be( meaning I want to be more closer to him) but I’m so grateful to where I am now. God is so loving and so amazing. I’ve realized that in my relationship with him I’ve been so prideful and demanding and I just needed to humble myself and surrender myself before him. But God has given me a vision and I am learning my identity that he has given me. Glory be to God.

I feel like God is leading me to be a worship leader, to sing. I am at my happiest when I’m singing to God in front of people. I love to express myself through songs and people always come up to me after I’ve sang and tell me how they could feel the Spirit of God moving upon me, or that it gave them cold chills. I always get a standing ovation. I’m like wow, I had no clue. I was just doing what God put on my heart. I was just expressing my life and heart for God. A lot of people just get up there but they don’t experience what they sing. You have to have your heart in it. You have to not be performing for people but performing before God. It’s a calling most definitely . Thank you so much for clearing this up for me. I always thought your calling would be the opposite of what you enjoy doing but I was wrong. For many years I felt like God was wanting me to work with the elderly but I was never happy doing so. In fact I just got worse doing it. I felt an obligation to do it but I REALLY wasn’t called to do it! I never thought Gods will was for me to do what I enjoy that would benefit people. I always thought you had to be a teacher or a nurse or something similar to bring more honor to God but I was so wrong!
I’m glad you figured it out. Many think that God wants people to do things they hate, but no. God will use you, he will use you with what you are passionate and good at. If you are good at public speaking, then God most likely will call you to preach. God will not call somebody if they do not like to speak publicly. I’m glad many people are finally figuring this out
This was a very good video on how to be sure on what God is calling you to do, and I watched another video before this one called 4 signs that God is calling you to pursue your passion. And all four signs have definitely been happening in this season of my life, and I used to be confused about decerning what my hobbies were as a passion and what my God given calling was as a passion. And, I'm sure now that he's calling me to lead worship, which is something I've always wanted to do since I was little but stopped pursuing it because I was too worried about what other people would think, or how I sounded and it's not until now, after I've turned 16 that I'm supposed to help lead worship for the first time ever, in front of 80 people, that I know I'm supposed to do it, and that God wants me too, and I've always wanted to. I've been overcoming anxiety and fear in this season too, but I'm worried that when I get on the stage in front of everyone, all of my confidence and passion will melt away and I'll freak out again. I keep thinking about that verse, I can do all things through him who gives me strength. I'll know that no matter what happens, God will get me through that first step of pursuing his passion for my life. (I've so longed to worship and praise him, to lead people and be surround by his presence with a room full of his people raising there hands up to him in a loving surrendering way) I just hope that when I get up there, it'll be to please him, and not to worry if I'll mess up or be good enough.

I think my calling is a Christian athlete. I love playing sports and using my role as a basketball player in my school to spread the gospel. It’s great!!!

I have had the inclination to join the coast guard as a search and rescue specialist, saving lives. I am scared Bc I know it is dangerous and requires you to be courageous but it feels that this is where I can make an impact on the world.
God has used my past to do my calling. Ive been saved since 2004 have been drug free for 26 years. I now minister to the homless about the Lord and then i share my journey. They are so excited when they hear my story, cause i can relate to what they're going through, then i share how they can to be saved and set free. Blessings and prayers to all

This was helpful. I believe my calling to be art and music. It's just hard to know for sure because it's such a rare calling. And the kind of art and music I make is so rare... But the idea of giving those things up anytime soon makes me depressed, and actually trying to go without them makes me literally insane. And when people see my best work, they do compliment it greatly... So I'm gonna trust God's direction and see where it leads!

God pursued me while I was in the world. I started drinking and smoking at the age of six to eight. When I became a teenager, these habits, along with promiscuity and marijuana smoking, intensified. That is why I recently publish my first book, Relentlessly Pursued by God.
This reminds me of when i was in middle school, I really wanted to run a daycare center I still do, I love helping kids learn and watch them grow into their own personalities! And they say funny things sometimes lol

Your words help clear my mind right now. I was once a teacher in an elementary school before I resigned due to anxiety and depression. I took two years off work and was ready to start a new career in the customer service field, but then I got rejected during the interview, and now, I'm thinking of going back to teaching because my friends, when I asked for their advice, told me that I should go back into teaching because they see me as being so good at it.

I just never understood what it meant until I nearly died of a drug overdose nearly two years ago and Jesus reached out to me. I've only recently realized I was always meant to help animals. When my cat died when I was six I got so sad that I went to church because somehow I knew that's where dead cats went. I was six. That's when I was saved and have never liked my jobs. The only job I loved was volunteering at the shelter. I love animals. I want to own a donkey...:) Thank you for this video.

At the beginning of the year, I've found a new passion in writing stories. Something I've never planned on doing, and yet here I am. Considering this was never my plan, I believe 💯 that God gave me this gift. I've shared my work with other Christian friends, and they seem to like my stories, although I need to work on my editing, lol. Seriously though, I pray this is what I've been praying for, as I want to do something I can enjoy, use it as a profession, and most importantly, bring Glory to God through my writing ✍️ 🙏 ✝️

When I was a little girl, God called me to pediatric oncology and told me, “This is what you will do”. It has been a difficult journey, but other people do take notice when you are passionate to help others. The chip on your shoulder will remind others of themselves when they were younger, and they will come to help you too. If you walk with confidence toward what you are called to do, the right opportunities and people will be drawn toward your light.

Ringo Dallas Well, for starters, I’ve gotten countless positive feedback on my music. Especially from the label I’m releasing my next album thro at the end of this year. If your trying to drag me down, it’s not gonna work. If your just upset with how your own life is, I understand, and I will pray for peace for you. What I do has nothing to do with my ego. I am who I am, my music is my music. Yes, it’s nice when people say good things about my music but, letting it get to your head doesn’t bring me any value. I make music to spread Gods love and joy. If it’s makes him happy, I’m happy. Gods blessings and validation is all I need.
As for my wife and I. We serve the lord. very good video. Both my wife and I work and have no burdens to speak of. our calling it seems is. Sometimes God will show us someone in need of something that will help them move their lives forward. We anonymously give to those type people. He rewards us with good heath awesome paycheck the feeling of the holy spirit around us daily. He is the one that prunes us so we may blossom.
My passion was taking care of our senior citizens in nursing homes. I SSSSSOOOOO enjoyed it!!!! I looked forward to going to work every day. I loved spending time with them and caring for them. But there was too much abuse, neglect, conspiracies, and favoritism. I would get "in trouble for spending an extra 5 minutes" with a resident in the nursing home because that person was alone and scared. But I didn't care. That one person was WORTH my extra 5 minutes. Yet, the other girls would hurry through their care and neglect to change their depends 'because it stinks too much'. I couldn't take it, so I quit. I LOVE our seniors. They are the BEST people to talk to. They can tell you anything about everything because they LIVED it. They can also be sassy. They are a lot of fun. I miss that work. Now, I can't do it. But that is what I loved doing. They could brighten up my day. I feel I was really good at taking care of them. So, if this is what you mean by 'finding your calling', this was it for me.
