- Reviewing newly installed Spy 5000m motorcycle alarm on CBR600RR 2007.. picked it up on ebay new for 80$... You can find my step by step install here www.600rr.net/v...

Just done installing mine on a cbr 600rr 2013...i used your toturial on 600rr.net...thanks a lot bro.
in order for the remote start to work it has to be in neutral.. you dont have to always be parked in first.. also the bike wont remote start in first because of kick stand sensor
@RideRockets the screen changes colors when it's sending you a warning. You can change the standby color
Man I just bought one of these remote-start alarms for my bike and I just know the remote start feature is going to require an engineering degree to install the fucker! I would like to see your install vid if you have one.
+GeorgeBonez Find the wire for the starter on your ignition coil. splice into positive side of wire itll be close to a relay.... its that easy.

So I just bought a 2008 Honda CBR 125R with a Big Bore,Yoshima exhaust system, K and N filter , Racing fuel chip, + 2 on the front sprocket and so its running 190cc.. Im looking at bike alarms but being as I live in Canada ITS BLOODY COLD! lol. You said yours was a pain to set up but im still liking it because its two way and its got the command start. (Im assuming alot of your alarm components hide under the gas tank..) lol..easiest spot and a pain to get at if your a thief,, lol.

batteries in the remote last a few months depending on usage of course.. the remote can go about far enough to where you can always pick it up if you are parking in the same parking lot as the building you are in
Satisfied, very good and far in touch, other guys have signaling 25-30% worse signal. The only thing I would like to disable is the arming reminder function; I did not find this information in the instructions. It’s really annoying, for a long time the remote control vibrates and signals to arm (but you can’t do it during the time or you don’t need it) by putting a battery in the same place. How to disable arming reminder ?

the kick stand sensor keeps the bike from starting in 1st.... it will only remote start when bike is in neutral.. its been tested
How long do you think that alarm worked for or is it still working?
Will the bike auto start if its in gear? I have gsxr 600 and bike requires clutch to be pressed for engine to start.

josh786manchester On the cbr you can start it without the clutch but it needs to be on neutral.

i think it is possible but i believe you need quick shifter which is electronic only has to be and those are not cheap and would be pain on your ... to install it.
mine doesnt work, wired it up as follows
yellow wires to indicators,
brown wire to key on positive wire going into the fuse box
blue wire to starter relay,
pink to the key on positive coming out the fuse box which i cut about an inch away from box then soldered, (fuse still in place)
grey to the same wire going to the rest of the bike.
key on pos in ‐> fusebox‐>key on pos out‐>pink‐>alarm‐>grey‐>key on pos out.
then lastly connected black wire then red to battery.
Nothing works, lifeless.help
@qteter1 thats the model the range is a half mile
depends on the alarm from spy, there is one where you can change it from green to red to orange :)
The issue with the remote starter is for carburetor bikes that need choke you may need to turn it over a few times..
hold the lock and unlock button at the same time and it should start flashing.. use the unlock button to change the time and the lock button to switch through the menu... and then hold the lock and unlock button at the same time to save it until you hear a chirp

Can you describe your batery drain? The batery indicator in the remote is for the remote batery or for the bike main batery?

thanks! it will only start if bike is in neutral.. the kick stand sensor keeps the bike from starting in first
it will self arm if you disarm and dont put key in ON position. but after riding it will only remind you to arm, because maybe you dont want to arm it.

@gpkwinger55 haha yeah i found out is a shock sensor not so much a "hit" sensor.. if that makes sense, I also moved the box to a better spot to be more sensitive

I use it at school but turn the proximity sensor off because how many people and bikes there are
@truhighlander of you leave the turn signals on while the bike is off it messes up the way the alarm acts .. Sorry for the late reply, hope you figured it out or found me on the forums

Is that remote chargeable is there any port like USB In the remote to charge the battery
distance it can be used up to? the cheapest one I got for 15 bucks have to be like 3-6 feet no further works minimally tho at 6ft .....I dont need to be like a whole mile away but at least one block or half a block would be nice
good job i got mine on my bike works good.
could be the camera or location... its loud enough and the remote vibrates and chirps if the alarm is going off so you are plenty aware...

hey bud first of all nice bike lol. i also have the 07 cbr600rr in red though. i just got this alarm today. i just have a few questions what happens if bike is in gear and you start it would it start and kick over. That is my biggest concern thanks

I have a zx10r with a factory immobiliser on it I can’t see it doing REM start on that unless you strap a key chip to it and what would be the point of that

hi qteter1 i have a yamaha R1 and waiting on my spy 5000 i am was reading what you post,when you star the bike remotely did you have to connect anything on the key wire.
If the remote batteries dies while the alarm is armed.... can you still start the motorcycle with the keys manually?
does this drain your battery? Say you don't drive your bike everyday or even in the winter when a person doesn't start their bike all that often..will it drain it to the point of not starting?

This is a long shot but I'm in need of your help .
I just bought another bike and the previous owner had this model alarm installed but it's not programmed because the battery had went out and he dropped the remote cracking the screen everything works on the remote because it chirps and such and only a small section on the screen is visible and I cannot go thru the sequence of programming the alarm if you could go thru the steps that would be greatly appreciated

What happens if while your riding and somehow it tries to start due to an electrical fault. You could get thrown off your bike, the only reason i say this is becouse im interested in doing the same to my bike but would like to know what you think.....
Usually when the bike is parking, Do you leave your engine cut off switch on or off?
Does this cut out the electrics and the engine if someone steals it
at what range does the proximity sensor start triggering, is the sensor adjustable ? do you have to be almost touching it for the proximity sensor?
paul 466 can be up to a few feet ... sensitivity is adjustable
What about boosting the signal or putting a different antenna on?

I have it on my quad . Its good but if you arm the alarm and dont ride for 4 . 5 days battery dies

+zweefvliegerNL Yeah, really annoying feature. Also it allways turns the alarm on automaticly (way!!) too fast. Everytime i wanna fill it up at the pump station i holding the remote with the other hand because i dont want the alarm to trip...
How do you activate self alarm.
