Areen sometimes we get confrontational comments on the tube. We get a high number of negative comments from people that are not friendly to Armenians. The best thing to do is don't accept these comments. Ignore them. The people saying this instrument is a doudouk obviously do not play any instruments. Maybe they play the radio. The clip was very nice. tarp
@armenianstyles Hahahaha glad that you took care of that cuz I was about to step in myself, as a Duduk player and future music teacher I had to correct this. Clarinet has a very distinct tone, nothing like the duduk
The instrument featured in this clip is a clarinet, not a doudouk. If you were an Armenian musician you would know this. Areen is correct and we are both 100% Armenian. This is oudist John Tarpinian. I've been playing this music for 40 yrs. with some of the best Armenian musicians in the world. I play with the Chookasian Armenian Concert Ensemble with very good doudouk, shivi, kanun, kemenche, clarinet, tar and saz players. Believe me that is not a doudouk, it's a clarinet.
@armenianstyles that is doudouk trust me don't bet on anything go listen to other songs you will find out soon :) this song is what were all about no words but it speaks with ur soul
@TheLEG12 if you could play doudouk like that i would give that person a million dollars. Its not doudouk. Duduk is a more spooky sound than that. Ive been to Armenia 4 times I'm 100% Armenian.
That is not a doudouk, educate yourself. Areen knows what he is talking about. I have played with some of the best clarinet and doudouk players in the world.
Sorry to break it for you buddy, but Azerbaijan officially exist since 1829 so I don’t think you have the right to claim anything here. So go sail you’re “music” elsewhere. Peace out
@BitMode @BitMode Man you are the dumbest person I've met. i play Duduk myself. I have dozens of friends that play doudouk and this is not doudouk. The CD best zourna and clarinet players. Your stupidness is arguing with a person that has been to Armenia dozens of times and plays duduk himself and knows what it sounds like. Your wrong. I sent you a link with the CD. Buy it and learn the armenian culture and instruments.
Love my Armenians!!!
Կեցցե Արորդիների Հայրենիք Հայաստանը... with LOVE from GREECE :)

@TheLEG12 its 100% clarnet!!!!!!
OK, forget it, I was told by a friend with Armenian roots. "Bar" means 'dance'.
Thanks anyway!
its par not bar
It's neither par nor bar it's պար. Armenian uses the Armenian alphabet not the latin one.
Hey, Armenians, please explain:What does "Bar" mean?
jdlarosa7 Bar in Armenian = Dance in English
@TheLEG12 if you could play doudouk like that i would give that person a million dollars. Its not doudouk. Duduk is a more spooky sound than that. Ive been to Armenia 4 times I'm 100% Armenian.
Its Clarinet guyz , impossible to do such improvisation with duduk , and common how come duduk sounds like this ?
