I FEEL WE REALLY DIDNT REALIZE THE ROAD WE HAVE GONE DOWN AND WE WILL NEVER RETURN TO A MORE equilateral and carefree honest utopian ideal as we had at this time. at least not for a very long time. THE ROMAN EMPIRE IS FAILING> AND THE DARK TIMES APPROACH. such as it is, these sands of time, and epochs of human civilization and triumph and tribulations. VERY MUCH APPRECIATE THIS THANK YOU. WHAT A SERVICEMAN TO US WHO NEVER THOUGHT WE'd LET OURSELVES GET THIS OLD! LOL
The preserve is still there and looks the same. Years ago, they developed the oil fields around it with high end housing, but the preserve will hopefully never be touched.
Most of them that were around the preserve were taken out for high end housing tracks years ago. I once lived on 16th st across from Dwyer middle school and there was an oil rig right next to our house! Not sure if it's still functional, it was at the time, but last I checked it's still there in the middle of the houses.
Spent half my childhood and teens on Bolsa chica. I was 11 when this as taped
quick shot @ 06:24 is Main St HB, you can see the pier lights and tower. Taken at about 120 Main St on google maps. Unrecognizable from today.

Keep em coming
This may not interest many but have you seen the oil fields around orange county in the 1980s?
Indeed, some of them yes. In 2019 we drove around LA and you can still see some oil rigs in the middle of neighborhoods. Very surreal.

The northern part of orange county has plenty of oil drilling, specifically Brea, Fullerton, Placentia and Yorba Linda.
Thanks for posting this. Such great memories here when I was just a kid then.
