    If you'd like more info on this test - I've written it out on my blog post here. Enjoy! 😃

      Thank you for sharing. I never tried such inks. When I need to use white I tend to use either gouache or acrylics. Do you use thoses ? Do you think inks are more practical ?

    • @WaterColorMisfit
      @WaterColorMisfit  4 года назад +1

      @@Isaarne Personally I like white ink better than gouache or acrylic paint. I've used all three and find that ink has a more fluid feel and look that personally I prefer. Acrylic and gouache tend to give a heavier look to my watercolor paintings. But like I said - this is just a personal preference.

    I agree with David, PH Martin's works wonderfully from a pointed pen. It usually needs to be diluted a little so it flows nicely, but it still retains its opacity. I don't dilute it in the original container though. I pour some out in a container with a screw on lid and dilute only what I have poured. With the lid, I can keep my mix for a long time. Combined with a very thin nib, you can then do super fine details. / For the challenge: Forest/Woods.

    I bought Copic white twice and gave up. It just kept drying up. So I now have Ph Martin. For some reason I haven't white for a while. Thanks for this video it was very helpful.

    What is the advantage of using white ink as opposed to gouache or acrylic gouache?

    For halloween this year, we are dressing up, having a Halloween themed food spread to eat throughout the day, and we are going to watch several Halloween movies throughout the day and eat Halloween candy! It’s gonna be fun!

    This was very interesting and enlightening ! ... Moral of the story ? ... buy both! :D Now, hear me out, I am not being flippant. As I watched the varying results with each test, I realized .. there are times when I am going to want the properties of the copic and other times I would want the properties of the PH Martin's. It is good to know they DO have differences that can be utilized to best advantage depending on desired results. THANKS .. this really was very helpful ! : ]

    Thanks for the video, very much helpful. I want to ask something, can this kind of paint be used as a fountain pen eraser as well? I mean can we use this paint on fountain pen ink and after it dried can we draw over the painted area again? Your answer will be very much appreciated by a 7 years old enthusiastic child who really likes to draw with fountain pen and who hates and is afraid of making mistakes which are unreversible :) thanks in advance.

    I understand that this is a water-soluble pigment. I get the water part, but what is the "water-soluble pigment"? I'm wondering if it is watercolor pigment, acrylic pigment, or some other type of pigment.

    I was hoping to learn where and how to use Dr. Martin's Bleed Proof White in a watercolor painting. I've searched but so far nothing's come up. Any suggestions?

    Do you know is the copic white save. I mean is it save to use for kids too. Do you might know whats inside of the white. Kids tend to have it on their fingers to and a mouth isn't far. So I was wondering if the color has any toxic parts in it. Thank you and thank you for the video.

    Thank you for this very helpful demo! Now, my Ph. Martin ink dried up in the jar. Is it still usable? Can I just add water to it?
    As for the challenge, I vote for Watercolor Moon (I'm always drawn to moon-themed art).

      Since it’s water soluble, I’ve just added water and used it like any watercolor even though it’s an ink technically.

    For general highlights, I only use an extra fine nibbed posca (0.7mm) which produces a thinner line than the much raved about Uni ball sigmo.
    I can tap some of the paint out and add a little nuance of colour so it’s not too bright of a white if I want a more realistic white and apply with a brush.
    I do have ph martins bleed proof but it dried up after just 6 months (despite minimal air exposure.) I contacted ph martins and they said they *eventually* would send me a new one but I never received it which has put me off buying further ph martins products.

      why didnt you just rehydrate it? you can even whdn its dried out and flaking

    • @Kyomiibrown
      @Kyomiibrown 2 года назад

      @@Goldi-Luc It wouldn’t rehydrate. It’s acrylic based, so once it dries out completely it’s of no use. Ph Martins confirmed this in their email.
