When I was a kid in high school, way back in the 1980s, I had a big black cat named, Jeffrey that would follow me way out into the woods or he would just show up at my campsite about 1/2 of a mile from the house, and he would hang out all night. Companions like that are a gift from God.
In closing, it makes my heart "soare like a hawk" to know that you keep a fire arm with you because you know what they say, " its better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it".
Living offgrid in Europe this is what I would want to carry, just because like you say: better to have and not need... But yeah, laws are different here, can't get a piece and if I could: jail would be the first thing if anyone would notice.
What an AWESOME life !! When I die,I want to come back as one of Brooke's pets !! ....Wild camping,warm fire, cooked meat......meow...(life is good!)..

That's my kind of camping, with the cat!! My cat loves me hanging in the backyard with her, and if I go in the house and am gone too long, she comes and gets me to come back outside with her, haha!!

She loves going camping with me. She’s a long haired white and grey kitty. She just loves being outside with me.
When my sister came over and we camped out in the woods in my backyard no name slept with my sister the whole night. She was tickled to death.

The shelter is wonderful; you and your friends did great. Love that kitty came to camp! My cats used to follow me into the woods too. By the way I love your choice of clothes, boots and hat. Seem so much more natural than the high-tech gear.

You know every time I look at your dog Maizie, I totally think of Lassie the collie from the old tv show. Your pets are so well-behaved, that's incredible!
I have a weenie dog, and she's about eight years old. She's really laid back and well-behaved too. Having pets is such a gift from God! They make for great company!
By the way Brooke, the shelter definitely look cozy, and sturdy too! I think you did an incredible job designing it! I'm always fascinated by how you make your shelters and what you look for before making shelter. I have to say two thumbs up for you, I was very impressed with it!!👍👍

Loved the video! I agreed with everything you were saying. The lack of snow this winter is very concerning. Hope you were not too far from the house (especially for your cat's sake). I know what you mean about there being so many hours of darkness when you go camping, being an insomniac that is really tough. Thanks for making me feel like I was there.

Love seeing you camping with your sweet animals and I can’t believe how much you can cook in that pan! Loved Alaska and Michigan when I was there in 2016 and 2017. Florida is too hot. Lol
We lived in Florida for 32 years...left Florida because I ( my husband didn't mind it) could not stand to be there for one more summer. We live in North Carolina now and like it a lot better. We originally came from Massachusetts to Florida...so now that we have moved halfway back we call ourselves "halfbacks".

@@lisasescapades - North Carolina has a lot of diversity. We have the ocean and the mountains and everything in between.! The weather varies also according to the area. We lived in Leland, NC which is just outside of Wilmington. The mosquitoes were awful. Where we are now, we can be outside at night and no mosquitoes. Leland had the threat of hurricanes because it close to the ocean. So, decide what lifestyle you want and then select the area.

That's awesome! When our cat hear, "vittles" they think that it's time to be fed. Apparently they weren't listening to the TV when you said it, because they didn't get excited.
LOL every morning they all follow me into the kitchen for a "treat". Spoiled kitties!
Those are the most coziest buddies you got there. Amazing camping out there in snow which I love. Did watch your last year's Snow camp as well with the lightings and all. Shelter is well built, roomy and cozy. Thanks for doing this, I enjoyed a lot.👍

I found out that dogs dont chew their food because they dont actually release analyse in their spit to start the digestion of carbs, because dogs are predominately meat eaters, its best raw and if you watch wild wolves etc, they usually go for the organs first.. just something I found out recently..

My cats would love to go fishing overnight at a lake in the woods they would spend all night chasing moths, frogs, anything that moved.
A very great shelter; learned a bit about creating a place to get out of the weather. It can be done without many tools, love. Dog and cat for company, my kind of buddies. Thank you! 🙂

We used to camp with our 2 dogs. They loved it. They went fishing with us, swimming, etc. I miss them. I have always had multiple of cats, have 1 now. Animals are great. you had a lovely camping night with your pals. 😺💞
I've always heard that smoke follows beauty, so I never had much problem with smoke. Years ago I used to love camping with my two dogs, an 80 pound pit / lab, and a 120 pound Staffordshire Terrier. I sleep on my side and they would sleep right up against me. It was a contest between them which could get the spot by my chest first. The other would get right behind my knees. I would unzip my sleeping bag and throw over the top of us, and even in snow I usually got too warm. I wonder how many people know what the band name "Three Dog Night" really means. A camping cat is cool, he'll keep any mice out of the shelter.

Locks Bog: Cold yes. Below freezing, in particular. So cold you need three dogs in your bed to stay warm.

Brooke: They were awesome, best dogs I've ever had. They lived through a lot being with me; out on the boat commercial fishing, in the woods winter camping, living in a van a few years, living in the mountains off-grid for a decade, going gold mining. The 80 pound one I had her for 19.5 years, the 120 pound one I had him for 22.5 years.
Great to see a Shelter getting some good use with a Dog & a Cat.

I had a cat that would follow me on walks in the woods. I would stay for a while in a spot I loved up on a rocky hill I would climb. "Pansy" would go off exploring and when I was ready to go home I'd whistle a time and she would come. I love seeing this!

I loved seeing you camping with your furry friends. My first sled dog race it was -52f and was glad I had my two lead dogs sleeping with me.
I am in Lakewood, Washington and it’s 25° outside with about 2 inches of snow on the ground. Its cold! I am sitting here with a cup of Hot Chocolate and My Kitties one on each side watching you camping!

When My daughter was a teenager she had a cat that would go camping with us. People thought we were craZy! My daughter is almost 40 and those trips are fond memories!
