Heated debate as National Assembly Speaker, DA's John Steenhuisen cross swords

The National Assembly has approved the Ad Hoc Committee report that recommends that Advocate Kholeka Gcaleka be appointed as the next Public Protector. 244 MPs voted in favour of her appointment, which is the 60% needed to pass the resolution.
The ANC, IFP, GOOD, NFP and Al Jama-ah all voted in favour.
However, it was not a smooth sitting, with National Assembly Speaker, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, and Democratic Alliance Leader, John Steenhuisen, crossing swords.
