I live in the cul de sac across from where the band rehearses. When I moved here I thought being subject to a practicing band every morning would be hateful. But rather than an annoyance, I started to look forward to hearing them start, and they became my alarm clock. Over time I began to think of what all those kids had to do to get up and get into work mode. It was motivation to get up and get my day started. I started to really listen. I heard the conductor direct, encourage, scold, and praise. I heard them get more nuanced, more tight, more enthusiastic. I got the music stuck in my head. It became something I looked forward to. I'm so glad now that I live where I can hear them; it's a great way to wake up. Keep it up, McCallum: you're making my day.
awww, as the mom of one of the Mac band kids (he's in college now), this makes me so so happy. they do work so hard, and invest so much of themselves. it's awesome to see someone from outside the band world bubble recognize that. thanks for posting this.
Wow. Just wow. I graduated from McCallum almost 25 years ago and I thought the band back then was bad ass. You guys are stellar now. Fantastic. Keep it up.
What an AMAZING PERFORMANCE !!!! the talent that keeps coming out of MAC Fine Arts !!! Congratulations to ALL on an OUTSTANDING performance. You are definitely CHAMPS in my book !!!! Many blessings to all the Seniors and the future leaders.
@@bluuvi9042 Thank you so much! We will work tirelessly next year and every year to put out a show that reflects the incredible talent and hard work our kids put in every day to make the band at McCallum amazing!

What was the placing?
Mccallum placed #14 out of the 34 bands in the preliminary round.
Did yall make it to finals?
Sadly, no. They only took 12 bands for finals, so we just missed the cutoff.
