I watched this a few hours ago and just got done donating about 140 cookbooks. I never realized how it was negatively impacting my mental health. Thanks for the motivation!

"things not giving me quick hits all the time was crucial" - OH MY GOD that is it in a nutshell. We crave that thrill of getting something, but we don't really need it, and once we have it it loses its appeal. I need that tattooed on my brain.
It’s not easy.. as I get older I struggle with the boredom… but I definitely remind myself that if I always distract myself I’ll never have a “full life”
You said "...truthfully life is not all about happiness." Please do a video on this topic. Thanks to you and Carline for reaching out with your videos!
I just heard you say you "DON'T NEED VALIDATION" but I'm proud of you and all things that you've accomplished and OMG you're younger than my children 😮 but you're grown and you're heading in the right direction. Yay for you 💕.
@@TheArmsteadFamily I'm the same meaning I DON'T NEED VALIDATION FROM ANYONE but it wasn't an easy road getting here, I had to grow up REALLY FAST because at 14 yrs old I lost my mom tragically and by 20 yrs old I became a mom of TWINS then by 23 yrs old I lost my dad also tragically, so life has definitely not been fair but it's what I was delt. So I admire when I see young people doing the right thing for themselves. All the best to you in your future 🙋.
Thank you for another inspiring video. I’m a single mum to 3 young children. My life has always been about shopping and stuff even as a child I always wanted more. I’ve been in debt for years on and off. I’m now 36 and I’ve realised that less is more. I’m constantly trying to do housework/ tidy . Money is tight and I’m fed up of the constant cycle. I declutter but don’t stop the spending. This year I’m going to work hard to change that. Your videos really help
Check out Hannah Louise Poston on RUclips. She had a spending problem and did a no buy year a few years ago and has a whole lot of videos on how she did it, but also on what she learned about herself as a result. It’s quite inspiring. I’ll try to copy the link for you.
Calm, cool and collected. I believe it helps with your wise beyond years self validation. You and Carlene exude what really matters. The gift you are passing to your children is to the hilt exemplary.
I love your message ❤️ I love you as a couple and your mindset. Thank you for your authenticity and vulnerability and sharing your journey with us. My desire is to not desire so much too. ‘Doesn’t mean we are not gonna have a big life.’ And ‘Needing less to be okay’👌🏻 I’ve decluttered so much over the past 5 years. People tell me they think we’re so organized but it’s not that at all. We just have less stuff! And I keep getting rid of things and seeing the value of owning less. I feel the freedom and spend my time so much better now without the burden of stuff. We also love to see the contentment on our children’s little faces😊 Please keep inspiring us with your amazing journey
Wow, great video! I truley believe that we are able to make a change in this consumeristic culture, by showing people you don't need to have all that stuff to be happy and content.
You are so right but things are another addiction problem. However, when children are young, I feel they should have access to many things for educational purposes. Perhaps we should make trips to the Public Library a priority. I don't think the internet will ever be a substitute for the library.
hello just watched your video i was already feeling the to get rid of stuff even clothes that don't fit or i don't wear and home decor i feel the same way i always wonder why do we have to have a couch or coffee table do we have to have it not really do we have to have a lot furn probably not and quite hontestly we will probably be moving in a year and don't want to move to much stuff again thx for sharing
Bliss is given by having only interest in God. The world is full with happiness and suffering, that will never stop. But your perspective can change. Aslong as you feel that happiness is followed by suffering and suffering is followed by happiness, you are on the wrong path. Love God. God gives you what you need and takes from you what is not beneficial for you. He guides you towards Him. But this is not seen by most people. You only need God. But know God is not what most people think. Search for deeper knowledge. When you only love God, God guides you.
This is simply beautiful- the stuff that can calm minds and reign in the crazy 'wants' society tosses at us. Add in faith in Jesus and the soul sings ❤️

That’s really great to hear 😊
wow that's a lot where did you put them all before getting rid of them ?

Just finished paying off my car. I’m so happy. I’m in the process of decluttering every thing. ❤️
That’s amazing… congrats…. Nothing better than being free from that!

@@TheArmsteadFamily Great mindset. Happiness will never be found in things. I had to subscribe.
This is exactly what I'm teaching my children and my husband. Thank you for making this video
