The way she says "WARUI KOto WA SHICHAIKENAI" (We should not do bad things) sounds like
"Warui ko wo kowashichaikenai" (We shouldn't "break bad kids)
I wonder if that it was the author 's intention

    My theory is:
She believes that if all children behave, they wouldn't be kidnapped and the "The child next to me has been taken" means that probably she saw a child get taken/kidnapped yet knows that the child does naughty things a normal child would do, so she warns others. The part where the mother in the vase I guess rolls in probably means she was kidnapped and her mother tried to save her but ended up being murdered and stuffed in a vase, another thing is the grandpa so maybe the grandpa witnessed everything so the "kidnapper" threw him off the building "hence the my dead grandfather at the bottom of the building" so the part where she says "In the Secret Base I hear my Older Sister speaking to someone but my ears are stuffed with mud so I can't hear them" probably means she hears her sistee "probably her only (good) living family member" is trying to find her but the child "Miku or someone she is portraying" is buried underground alive and doesn't know what is happening outside as she suffocates to death.
When she said "as I came back from the hospital or a grave visit" supposedly means she dug her way out of her "grave" or was found and got into the hospital, she saw her brother so she decided to follow but realized he was with people she did not recognize "supposedly perverts" so they take pictures of "miku or person she portays" and share it to online god knows pervert websites. So she goes back to her normal life and speaks with many children and tries to stay a good child and sees another child get kidnapped "thinking that child is bad" and still spreads the word that you need to stay good in order to not get kidnapped. Or maybe she is already kidnapped and not realizing that she really is.

I think this is about a community that has been plagued by the mysterious kidnappings of children. All of the bodies of the kidnapped children were never found, so they have one single grave for them. I think Miku is already dead, and her family was at a funeral for her. I think Miku was kidnapped, but didn't want to acknowledge her situation (mud in her ears, you know?). She is now a ghost and is visiting her old classroom, and listening to the frightened kids, who are wondering who's going to be taken next. The children start believing that it must be karma that is causing the kidnappings, so the children try their best to make sure they're good, because they don't want to be caught.

I think this is more about sexual abuse. Miku says that her father takes pictures of her, while other children share "data" with each other on her. Since her mother is inside a large vase, which I think is an urn or something along those lines, which means she's probably dead, forcing Miku to live with her father, who sexually abuses her and puts the videos online so everyone can see. I guess, she also sees other kids in videos that her dad makes, and knows that the children in those videos are gone or dead. However, she doesn't want to believe it, thinking that she won't share the same fate, so to keep herself from breaking down, she tries to be good and make sure not to be the next victim. Although this is just a theory since Kikuo's songs are hella hard to understand.

    • @arisenspirit
      @arisenspirit 8 лет назад +95

And if I had to give it a story I would say that that the mother had this child who she was forced to raise by herself which was too much for her so she ended up selling her kid to some group that does human trafficking. The "father" is not actually her real father but the girl is probably too naive to realize this. The traffickers keep the children together when they aren't being "used" and then take them once they need them. This is why this little girl sees them being taking away. Between the kids there are rumors that bad things happen to the kids that are taken away. She (being as naive as any other child) believes that she will be okay if she is a good child. But at the end she meets a terrible fate and her nightmare becomes a reality.

I personally believe that this song speaks about a family involved in human trafficking. It seems as if her brother was part of this group that trafficked human parts- especially children. Miku, being an easy target, is taken by her brother to the group's HQ, that Miku sees as a "secret base". The brother convinces the group that for whatever reason, Miku shouldn't be cut up jus yet. So, the group checks on the girl on some days, other days letting her go home. Her father, presumably living apart from his family "takes photos of her from a roof". This maybe because he felt some pedophiliac attraction towards Miku- and so he was forced to live apart from his family, the roof where he stayed being "unknown", as he couldn't reveal his location, or he could be taken away. Miku's grandfather, clearly dead, would look her way while singing- maybe glad not to live in such a messed up family anymore, or because he was part of the group and glad things are running smoothly. For her mother coming out of the big vase, I don't think she was dead and those where her ashes, as the vase is stated to be big- vases for ashes tend to be small. I think it is just a way to say that Miku's mother would hide until she knew Miku returned saferly, probably scared her son would take her away to be dismembered and sold.
One day, the group decides Miku is good enough, and locks her in a cell. There, she learns that trying to escape is a bad thing that is punished with death- seen by her when the kid next to her cell tried to escape, making the group kill him off. As Miku was trapped there, dirty and probably not in her mind from being there for such a long time, she sees her sister has joined the group. She can't hear what her sister says because her ears are full of mud- either be it they really where, or her mind tricked her into believing she was overly dirty.
Finally, they send Miku to be dismembered, to sell her organs and limbs separately. She is taken to the hospital multiple times, where she is explained what will happen to her, to get her scared and used to the place. She calls the visits a "visit to the grave", as she knows what awaits for her. Finally, the day comes where she is cut up- presumably why the picture has missing limbs.
She says she follows her brother whilst hiding, probably her spirit or ghost hunting him. She finds him with unknown people, who are most likely either clients or people from the group she didn't know. She sees them putting children's limbs and organs in a big box, that she assumes is a grave, but actually is where they will store the limbs for selling them. She can see the spirits of the children whispering about her, since she was considered lucky for living longer, only for being related to someone in the group. They exchange what they knew about Miku without acknowledging her, and not only them talk about her. The clients or group members also exchange info about her, looking for a potential client. They use their cellphones- but Miku has realized that this people are also bad, therefore they are also "bad children".
She says she met and talked with many children, either talking about how she talked with other spirits, or about when she still was alive and talked to children also in her situation. Probably the last, though. She speaks about how she thought she'd never meet her fate, as she was always well-behaved and never attempted to escape.
She complains and says she never did anything, saying that the kid who used to be next to her should have been the one cut up- not her. She thinks that the kid was only killed and left behind, but I am just guessing he was also cut up and sold.
Basically this song has quite an interesting story for me.

The song is strikingly catchy and the lyrics are remarkably dark, but there's something in the background image he made that makes me melancholically nostalgic of something I can't quite point out exactly, pretty sure I've seen books with similar illustrations when I was a little kid, but I can't help but feel this unsettling sensation of comfort while looking at it.

whenever i see the cover art for kikuo songs it always feels like it was “pencil-drawn” and to me it kinda feels like it’s meant to give a soft feeling of nostalgia (in the sense of toddlers/children drawing with pencil sets or something). to me, this kind of adds another layer to kikuo songs because it feels like the art is from the children who the songs are, usually, about.
      but that’s just me 😅

  • @giaaacakes
    @giaaacakes 8 лет назад +586

I know this theory is probably far from the actual meaning of this song, but I think it's about a little girl who is so innocent and naive to process what's really going on around her. For some reason I feel like she comes from a family that the kid's parents use their kids to lure in their peers so that their parents (mostly the father though) can kidnap them and sell them as slaves. I'm guessing the girl's mom is either dead, or she tends to neglect the rest of the family because she hides in a 'vase'. The father uses the children, including his own maybe, for exposing them for their body's and to attract people to buy the children. The reason she repeats "don't do bad things" is because she might believe if she behaves, she won't get sold off (or possibly killed) like the other children...
._. soooo the little girl is forced to stay with a very messed up family that sells children, exposes them, possibly kills children, and probably a whole bunch of other horrific things.... well isn't this a lovely song? :3

I feel like this song is about how the dangers kids can get into, and how good children who listen to their parents are less likely too die, but sometimes even that doesn't work. This song is about what can happen too good children.
The part talking about her family is about unexpected death of family members and what would happen too them. In this case it looks like the mother had a divorce with her husband because he had molested his eldest daughter. The sister is arguing about custody rights, but because the girl was so young she didn't understand anything.
The part about a girl following her brother is about gang violence, and how she was probably killed in it on accident. The dead children taking pictures of the living child represents bullying and the effects it can have on a child. Because of the bullying she grew up into being a cruel person, believing she is the only good child, and wanting all the "bad kids" dead.
Miku being so messed up symbolizes the many dangers, you have no idea why she's like that but know she's badly hurt.

I think this song is about miku who has the ability to talk to ghosts. And the ghosts have done bad things so they can't pass on to heaven, so they tell miku to not do bad things or she'll be "taken away (to jail)". The family knows this and tries to exploit her to get famous. Which is why they take pictures of her talking to what they think is no one.

Since the first time I heard this song, my opinion of this song has changed a lot (partly because my Japanese has improved quite a lot, and partly because I actually listen to the words now xD)
So basically, I used to think it was about a young girl who was in love with someone older, and she says "we should not do bad things or we'll be taken away"meaning if she had sex with the older person, they'd be taken away because it was an illegal relationship. Also, "the child next to me was taken" made me think maybe it was a pedophile she loved, that "took away" the other children.
But now, it sounds to me like she died from something that killed a lot of other children (maybe an influenza or something) and they were "taken away" as in sent to Hell because they had been bad and she hadn't. There's loads of lyrics suggesting she's dead and her family members see her ghost "everyone is sending my data on cell phones" maybe people talking about her or a photo of her ghost? I dunno really, I just love this song

She said her mom comes from a big vase (mom was cremated), Dad takes photos from unknown place (grave stone maybe), She can see her dead grandfather, she can't hear her sister because of mud in her ears (she's buried in a grave), when she came from the hospital or grave (where her body lays) she says her brother and friends passing pictures of her (photos of her spirit). I think when she says the bad kids are being taken away, she means that the sins the did in their life, are sending them to hell. Or they're did some different than her, and they're just passing on.

Okay here's my theory based on what everyone else is saying. Miku is in a cell with a bunch of other children-for human trafficking- and they think that the ones who go away are bad children so they try their best to be a good child. Eventually Miku gets picked and is sent off to a person other the person is done with her, her corpse is found and she gets buried which explains the mud in her ears. The mother pretended like nothing was happening while her father took pictures with her, her brother would join in and was in a human trafficking and put his own sister in it, which is how she died and put into the trafficking in the first place, Miku also doesn't know that she died that's why she's confused, and being a good child was still in her head so she continued to be a good child even as a ghost.

Could it possibly be the whole thing is about her programming? Like if the vocoloid's voice files junk up they get deleted, or if the song doesn't appeal to anyone they'll get deleted or 'taken away' ? I just thought it sorta fits in with how Miku is the most popular, her voice program will most likely be the one to stay the longest since people don't really use Meiko or Gakupo as much as her and the Kagamines. I dunno, just a thought...

I used to have some wild theories about this song when I was younger lol. Now that I'm older it kinda feels like the the main character was told things like "If you continue being naughty a bad man will come and take you" and it caused them to be paranoid.
Here's some of the less crazy theories I had for this song when I was like 14 lol:
    - The child is living in a dysfunctional family and they've been told that if they say anything about their situation they'll be taken away.
    - The kid is straight up dead and the bad kids being taken away implies them going to hell.
    - The child is alive but their family is dead and they can see their ghosts around.
I still like to lean into the third one since it's kinda fun, so here's a little breakdown of it:
According to a different translation the parts with the description of the kid's family are a bit different:
*Mother:* "On my way back from school
And when I went to my secret base
My mother hid in a large vase
    And followed me from behind."
*Father:* "From atop the roof of an unknown house
My father takes photos of me."
*Grandpa:* "Under there, my dead grandpa,
    Looks over here and sings."
*Older sister:* "From underneath my secret base,
My older sister talks to me.
If I put mud in my ears,
My ears get clogged and I can't hear."
*Older brother:* "On my way back from the hospital,
and when I visited a grave,
    My brother hides himself,
    And follows strangers from behind."
We already know that the grandpa and mother are dead.
The father being on a rooftop of an unknown house makes me think that he might've jumped off of it.
I'm not sure if "From underneath my secret base, my older sister talks to me" means that the kid is in the secret base and the sister is talking to them from the outside, or if she's literally under the base. Either way, I could imagine her being a ghost and talking to the kid while they're like "get out of my head get out of my head *GET OUT OF M-*"
I just see the brother as like some annoying spirit silently following unsuspecting people around lol
I feel like the mc is the only one who can see their family, and maybe because of that they can also see other spirits/youkai? They can be pretty dangerous so it would make sense for the kid to be paranoid.
This theory doesn't really take the whole song into account, just the family part of it, so it probably doesn't make much sense in the grand scheme of things.Oh! It doesn't take the official mv into account either :V
Still, it was a fun one to come up with. Stories about living with ghosts are always fun.
-Leaving long ass comments on a 11 year old yt videos is fun ☆〜(ゝ。∂)✌-

    • @null5489
      @null5489 10 лет назад +14

Kaneki Ken Comparing Kagerou Project to most other vocaloid series, it's ridiculously happy. While there were some sad parts, most of it was happy, especially the ending. As for Dark Woods Circus, you may not like circuses after watching it. It goes for the more realistic rendition of what Victorian circuses were like, and the fact that not everyone in the freak shows were there by choice. Some may even be mental patients who were mutilated for that very purpose. Onibi is less sad and more sadistic with cannibalism playing a major part in the story. As for Kikuo songs, this isn't that bad, "I'm Sorry, I'm Sorry" is much worse in terms of being disturbing.

well when i think of when she says, "bad kids will be taken away." blad blah blah for some reason i think that miku is dead but has not ''passed on'' and does not know that. so when other's die and are taken to heaven or hell (if You believe in that stuff) but she thinks they are being taken because they are bad? she does not understand that they are simply passing on. everybody passing pictures? well maybe because she has not passed on sometimes people can see her walking around and they take pictures of the "ghost" ?. cant find her mother because she was cremated(hiding in a vase) she cant hear because of the mud in her ears (buried) and this makes no sense whatsoever goodbye

So what I've gotten from this, before looking at anyone else's interpretation, is that this is about control over fear in some way (whether from the government, the family, friends, or someone else). The bit about the family talks about how this leads to distrust and isolation.

In real it is not " We should not do bad things" but something like "Bad things must not be done". This translation is not very good :'(
BUT I have a little bit different opinion about the meaning.
    ( sorry for retarded English)
I think that the song is about a girl whose father is one of "bad" people that was "taken"( from doing bad things.)
He takes her photos...but well you know what kind of photos..
Her mother is not very helpfull too.
AND her friend or just random child betrayed her (became to do bad things and was"taken") so now everyone in her school knows about it and even SENDS that photos to each other.
Somewhere in the middle of the song where there is " If I put mud in my ears..."
It is her thinking about suicide.
And finnaly "On my way back from the hospital, and when I visited a grave" means that she successfully commited suicide.
"The child next to me has disappeared" in real meant I disappeared...
"Under a lonely grave, bad children are buried" Is just a wish for all classmates that caused her suffering..
And at the end "disappeared one should be the child next to me" basically means that she wished for that child's death instead of her.
    Ehm so like that.

    • @ItsJenniBear
      @ItsJenniBear 8 лет назад +4

no it's a good translation. In English, "bad things must not be done" doesn't flow as smoothly or sound as good in English as "We should not do bad things". It makes more sense that way

  • @chizillio4570

I think this song may be about child exploitation, abuse, and neglect. Miku’s father takes pictures, must work for some company of sorts, in order to make money. Why do I think this? Well, when it mentions all of these bad events and this “secret base”, the secret base is like the place where the adults are in most control, and seeing as this is a Kikuo song, sexual abuse in particular. And this hospital visit may be due to circumstances purposely put in place for Miku to be harmed for money. But, there are so much theories for each Kikuo song, it’s hard to tell, so go with a little bit of each good theory when trying to decipher the meaning of a Kikuo song.

    12/22/23 Fri
Every day, I will comment on this video: Day 1
I'm supposed to go to my house in North Carolina for winter break today, but I don't have a suitcase and I can't pack. My mom is extremely unorganized and likes to call me unorganized and tell me to clean my room (lol). So since she doesn't pack we usually are delayed by 2 days, and she usually wants to pack everything we own. Anyways I wanted to weat a short sleeve shirt with a jacket and some pretty long shorts with leg warmers, but she calls it "child neglect"??? She's done this multiple times, so one day when I went to school I asked my favorite teacher about it and she said that it really isn't because the teachers only report when kids come with ripped clothes or wear the same thing everyday. I also wanted to wear the shorts because I thought I would be in the car all day, but apparently we're also going out to eat before we leave (lol we're definitely not leaving today). Anyway, even if we went out, we'd be inside, so it wouldn't matter anyway... If CPS was called, then they could easily see I have a sufficient about and type of clothing by searching the house. But maybe she's worried of them searching the house, because the kitchen is absolutely disgusting since she never cleans it. If you're asking why I don't clean it, it's because its been that way for years, before I was tall enough to reach the sink. So at this point it smells like dead rats and ammonia lol!!! :3333 My dad used to clean it, but he works and my mom stays at home all the time, so he decided to leave it to see if she would clean it. She doesn't work, she just sits around in the shed all day watching horoscope videos and freaking out over ghost videos. She got like that after she hit her head the 3rd time and she hasn't been the same since. Anyway I wonder what we're going to eat!!! :D Merry Christmas 🎄🎄🎄(or Hanukkah or Diwali or whatever you celebrate or if you don't celebrate enjoy your winterrrrrrrr🩷🩷)

i personally believe that this song is about a child who can't seem to make any actual friends. she does hang out with people, but they always do bad things and since she doesn't want to do these bad things, they end up distancing themselves from her, to the point they don't even talk anymore. this led her to believe they're 'taken away' from her. then she looks around and realizes everyone is doing something bad somehow, so in order to not be like them, she tries not to talk, interact, or come into contact with anyone
    at least that's what i think :)

  • @roseondeck
    @roseondeck 10 лет назад +16

I just think it is a nonsense song. But if I can guess at a meaning, I would say Miku is dead. She was a good kid and she spirit is still stick on the earth. She sees children around her dying and being taken away by angels (maybe it happens when you are around a spirit for too long?) and she does not know she is dead. She just dead so she think the children are being taken because they are bad and she is not because she is good.
The big building is the school and red think is a grave and the blue spot is the "big vase" or heaven where her dead mother comes out of to see her daughter.

I think this about a little girl and her life in a dangerous neighborhood. The children being taken away are delinquents, and her father always warns her to never do "bad things" (crimes and what-not) or she'll be taken away by the police. "But my ears were packed with mud" refers to her innocence and not understanding all the bad things that happen in her town. The brothers friends were actually taking lewd photos of the little girl, and "The child next to me is being taken away " is referring to the police finding out.

First I thought there was some kind of epidemic, then that it was about WW2, then a neighborhood infested with kidnapping, then that this was about growing up, then that this was about a family that kidnaps, than that it was about a dead child, then that it was a child who could talk to ghosts... now it just kinda sounds like the plot of FNAF (sorry, but srsly similar).

I love when people give their opinions on the song lyrics, it gives you so many different perspectives
I picture a girl being used as a lab rat in a secret facility. Brothers and sisters are just other kids getting tested. The "bad kids" are children who try to escape/struggle and are dragged away after being tested to be killed. They threw the bodies in one pile. At the end she is killed like the others. I feel like the "Father taking Pictures" is a camera on the roof for surveillance.

That is possible.. If you haven´t seen it together with the PV.
Shortly, it´s actually about an japanese myth, about a Ghost/monster which takes bad kids away.
Miku´s role in this song, is as an girl, who´s friends and classmates disapears from day to day. And is glad she isn´t taken away, she beleives she is a good kid, and end up being taken too. While wondering why, because she was a good kid.
(Note: Not sure if it was a myth or something else)

This song kind of reminds me of the Nazi's and how their rules were, they told people that if they caught anyone disrespecting the laws of a Nazi for them to immediatly report the person and often times they were put to death(?) or placed in jail. Maybe that could be related to the song and Miku is sneaking around and sending people off for breaking certain rules or doing whatever she believes is bad calling them 'bad children'. That's as much as I got.

My fave theory to this song is it being about WWII. To quote The Kitsune Countess on another video:
"Without the PV,I feel like this song is about school children during WWII. Think about it,you weren't allowed to speak or do "bad things" (Like disagreeing with the war, saying its unfair,or trying to help the enemy children who did nothing wrong) and all of those who did appose this rule were taken away, presumably the Jewish children who cried it was cruel and were soon sent off to camps with their parents. The child who was taken or set under the solitary grave-stone could have been Jewish and that was considered "A bad thing". She's sure that she won't be taken since she's not doing a "bad thing",unlike her classmate who is Jewish which she sees as doing bad things since that's what has been set in her mind and the various things they do to the children(Like how the ghost flew away with one child and how another sealed a child in between the rocks) could be interpreted as the ways they would torture and treat what was considered the enemy in a childish mindset. The only reason she was taken away was probably because her brother or her friends were talking about a revolution and she was the first child they found talking about that The full PV proves it a bit more with the father taking pictures of her so he could have proof of her or the family doing "bad things" like helping jewish people, her mother hiding in a vase out of fear of being taken, and her probably Jewish or anti-nazi grandpa singing to her from his grave. Kinda wish they made a PV for the longer version Pretty fucked up if you think of it like that"

I think this is connected to "I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Because she says that she's not bad and that she is "Dead" or under the ground in her secret base and this is after I'm sorry I'm sorry so she's dead and talking about how she was the best child out of all of them and she's haunting her father.

theres so much theroys so lets just put them together : so its about a girl (miku) only having her father and siblings ( because the mom is in a BIG vase if u know cremated ) she gets kidnaped and was sold, soon she was a victum child trafficing ( maybe also r@pe ) and gets killed she was put a hospital it was too late and now shes a ghost and sees other children die ( the big building behind her is a hospital ) she thinks shes a good kid because she is not taken away and see's her mom from a big vase maybe the big blue thingy dot. and she in heaven so yea.

why do kikuo songs have to be so catchy but extremely disturbing?

  • @NanamiSaito
    @NanamiSaito 8 лет назад +5

Ok so I think that at the very start of the song, Miku was dead (and basically a ghost), and was reciting things she was told when she was alive "you shouldn't do bad things or you'll be taken away" [by like the police or something]). So then it changes to when she was still alive, and so she's going home from school (or her "secret base" where she's forced to be at) to where her mother is, who basically thinks that everything is out to get her (or something to that effect, like extreme paranoia) and her father is abusive to her mother or something and is basically stalking Miku and taking pictures of her (will go back to this point later), and she doesn't know where he's doing it at, but she knows she's being followed by him. I think her dead grandfather is a ghost and he knows that bad things are gonna happen and is mourning it by singing (Miku can "see" him, perhaps due to trauma from her family situation).
So then it switches to when she's hiding in the secret base from "big sister" (again, I assume it's the police, because they're doing an investigation on human trafficking and they assume that there's kids held prisoner there, and Miku's job is to hide from them or she'll be "taken away") and so big sister (aka the cops) are talking to a higher-up on how to get a search warrant for the house, and Miku can't hear them as she's forced to be dead silent and to help not know where she is, has her ears "packed with mud". Then it repeats what she was always told (not to be a bad child or she'll be taken). The "child next to me has been taken" line may be a one of the children locked in the "secret base" who was essentially sold (to like a pedophile or something).
So then Miku is sent to the hospital (I think that basically her father came tried to take her to be trafficked) and I think the "grave" of the children are the kids who were eventaully killed by the people who bought them from her father) from being abused and she happened to see her "big brother" who was found and taken rescued (I don't think they were related though, more like her father took him and then Miku and they grew up together for a few years before her brother trafficked and later found and rescued from the abuse he'd been suffering for x amount of time). All the "bad children" under the gravestone were taken by her father, so I believe, and were killed in various ways and so they're ghosts as well, and they know what's going to happen to Miku and they're telling each other that basically, she's next (and I think the passing info with their phones line isn't literal, but the news that Miku's next is speading to them like a wildfire, as if it were a text sent to "everyone on your friends list" sorta thing).
So I guess Miku is pretty much always in the "secret base" where her father puts all the "other children" that eventually wind up dead and burried under the "solitary grave". Since she always follows her mother's (or father's) rules, nothing happens to her like the other children. Of course in the end, her father who was taking pictures of her (for human trafficking etc.) Eventually takes Miku too, as it was her turn to be trafficked (because the cops had gotten a warrent to search the house), and so at the end of the song, she's lamenting how she was always a "good girl" and therefore shouldn't have been taken.
Sorry for the long post XD

That said, although it can be irritating to come across an overly-stubborn fangirl that itself, like learning Japanese from an anime, does not necessarily make someone a weeaboo. If you do enjoy a series enough then you're likely to get at least a little defensive against those who say negative things about it. I mean, enjoying a series to that extent makes it more likely that it means something to you, thus you want to stand up for it which could make you a little stubborn.
    Sorry for the rant.

  • @starlightlightning

I think it's about the namahange. Basically like the boogie man. Miku seems to be a child in this song so maybe her parents told her about the demons so she would behave. Since she is a child, she got really scared and started to become paranoid. So it's probably a mixture of nightmares and paranoia. The art for this looks like she is having a nightmare. The mom hiding in the vase, dad on an unknown roof and not hearing her sister can also be linked to it. Her dead grand father is just her remembering what he would do when he was alive and she probably wants him to protect her. The missing kids are kids who stayed home or transferred out. And when the person dresses as a namahange came along to scare kids into good behavior she was scared and wanted the other kids to go instead of her since she has been trying to be good. I might not be correct but it seems to go with the "we shouldn't do bad things" thing going on here.

    personal theory/interpretation:
Miku has a pedophilic father. Miku's father often photographs and videos her and posts them online and such. Miku has been lied to for so long, she believes that if she speaks of what her dad does, she'll be taken from him (sort of a Stockholm Syndrome situation, where CPS will take her from the only person she knows, loves, and trusts). Miku's mother died either of physical abuse or possibly a natural cause. They keep her urn, but Miku is told so little she doesn't fully understand why that it. She thinks her mother is "hiding" in a vase.
