Quan Chi is the new playable dlc character in MK1. He's a part of kombat pack 1 just like omni-man, takeda, ermac, homelander, peacemaker, tremor and more!
MK 1 Quan Chi will be available 14th December and Kameo Fighter Khameleon will arrive in January 2024.

I always find his 2nd fatality kinda creepy it’s the fact he is already dead and bows with his head torn off which is something that fits Quan Chi pretty well, definitely my favorite fatality.

I do like how Quan Chi isn't just having the opponent rip their head off, but is also making them fuck up their face and neck before the finishing blow.

Second one fits his character well (he has a history of fatalities that make the opponent unalive themselves). First one… eh. It’s cool but doesn’t really scream Quan Chi to me, especially his new iteration with the tentacle monster. If anything sectioning the opponent would be more of a Shang Tsung thing, since he could study them afterwards
they should have used the tentacle monster for a fatality instead of whatever that weird glass fatality is
You know what would have been god tier? Something similar to Isaac's death scene to the tentacle monster boss fight in Dead Space.
My idea was that quan chi uses the monsters to grab each limb of the opponent, and then have the bug looking monster stab through them and cut them in half
They'll probably use that for a brutality
Glass fatality is good, my idea is in the second fatality instead of mind controll ball he either sends a tentacle monster parasite or open a portall to lovecraftian monster. Either parasite mind controlls him to kill himself or vision of the monster gives him madness to kill himself. And then parasite in the inside pulls a xenemorph and gets out of his body while dismembering it or tentacle monster rips him apart
Right, you give him a eldritch beast and don’t use it in a fatality? Very disappointing

I see people hating on these fatalities, but despite the first one not fitting well on Quan-chi, they are some of my favorite fatalities I've seen
The second one was so cool that it was more worthy for the trailer than the first one. And yeah, they should have made the first fatality with the monster than those glass
That was disapointing.
I was hoping the second fatality would be something with tossing them in a portal so you could see the full size of all those monsters before they just destroy/eat them or something.
That would've been lame and so not within Quan Chi's character. Using mind control to remove your own head and make you submit to him before you plop is way more fitting

The glass fatality is cool because it's similar to the scene from a movie called Cell with Jennifer Lopez.

I like the added detail of making the dead person politely bow and offer them their head to Quan Chi, although I thought one of them would involve his portals summoning tentacles to tear them apart or something.
I guess the second fatality is to redeem the Quan Chi neck stretch fatality from the previous MK game. 😀

These are a bit underwhelming tbh but the way he makes them rip off their own face in the 2nd and hand him their head is pure Quan Chi. Really wanted to see that cosmic monstrosity in one though

Conjuring 4 movable walls of force seems like sorcery he'd use.
Mortal Kombat has been known to reference movies with some of their Fatalities. The glass pane thing is reminiscent of The Cell.

Quan Chi overall just doesn't really feel like Quan Chi. Same as Shang Tsung doesn't really feel like Shang Tsung without his soul magic and his "your soul is mine" grab...

The first one reminds me of a scene from the Hannibal tv series
The 1st fatality should utilize quanchi using a spell to make his tentacle monster grow from the inside of his opponent, something like the tentacle monster fully popping out the opponent mouth similar to something like the xenomorph but different or better yet have him cast a spell that turns his opponent into a cthulhu version of themself that's even better.

Slightly off topic, I once had a nightmare where my right hand turned into half a spider and tried to kill me (my fingers became the legs and my thumb became a pincer), then my left hand became half of a crab and tried to do the same (same again, but this time my thumb became a claw), it made me think of the possibility of Fatalities based off of nightmares

Although I was expecting prob the monster, it good they still decided to be more original cause bro that so terrifying, I mean he controls them but he doesn't just take their head off, he really needed to mess their face up first. Game dev opinion here: In gore & violence, animation, facial expressions and audio design criteria this is must be a 10, but in creativity is hardly a 7 because Quan Chi can summon portals and fantastic beasts threw the portals , although in this fatalities he never does that, which is a bit…….. disappointing for me, because Netherealm makes very good visual special effects and I know that they could have done more VFX into the fatalities, but they preferred to make the fatalities as much gory as they can, maybe they did that do to budgetary reasons, I don’t know, and that’s whyI didn’t continue playing and buying MK’s after 9 because c’mon, some moves and FTLTS AND BRTLTS are just gruesome and I haven’t watched the brutalities of Quan Chi in this game yet, so I’m hopeful, I’m going to do that now btw! 😊
Update: Goddamit, 😮😮 the brutalaties are crazy , I think is the first time I prefer brutalaties than fatalaties, they are everything I was hoping for, less gore, more animals through portals, more effects and a lot of …….. skeletons ! Fantastic!!!! 😊😅
1st one: Cool concept but I am not particularly a big fan of it.
2nd one: I think it's messed up in the best way possible, the kneeling down and presenting him one's own head, the slow decapitation... The only thing that I'm a little less appreciative of is the beginning; the scratching of the face is still cool, the neck snap seems to kill the person already, decreasing the impact of the decapitation. Still, it's good!
