      Yes Southwest pilots have the reputation of being cowboys, but every crew I sat in the jumpseat with was very professional. One time coming into DEN, the FO was flying and Denver Approach switched us from landing north to landing east at the last minute. We turned maybe a 6 mile final to RWY 8 (?) and the captain immediately told the FO to be ready for a go around, which they did. Three miles out you should be 1000' HAT but we were twice that. A "cowboy" would have said "get er done". I realize your post was not a comment about their pilots.

      At SNA, they have a takeoff procedure where the do full power and lift the nose to 25 degrees plus, this is because there is a noise law that requires planes to quickly gain altitude to minimize noise, plus its one of the shortest runways with commercial operations, its runway is 5700 feet for reference thats half the size of 25r at LAX

      I can assure you that it is definitely a boeing though because those have to be GE engines. I know my engine sounds and Airbus predominantly uses RR which has a deep growling rumble upon high n1. Also those winglets definitely look like Boeing style. AA most commonly flies 757s out of JFK so that is my bet also along with the fact that the winglets are so tall. Plus the 737 engines are slightly less powerful, reasonably so, and thus they are distinct GE engines which commonly make a higher pitched noise upon high n1, similar to the triple 7 with the GE90. Since this definitely isn't that, I'd say it is most likely not a 737, nor a 777, definitely not a 727, especially not a 747, not at all by design a 787, but a 757. I would not argue it is a 767 because of how few AA relatively own, yet it is still a possibility. I would love if someone could concur or clarify upon that.

    Standard angle of climb with a headwind like that for a 757. You were nowhere near a stall. The 757 has incredible performance capability and Orlando is just over 2 hours from you so the plane was probably also pretty light considering the range this aircraft has. Also you will notice you rotate just after the displaced threshold meaning you still had over 8000' of runway.

  • @AndreAviation306

    Nowhere near stalling. Those jets can climb a lot steeper than that. Southwest is a perfect example as are the MD-88s flown by Delta and MD-80s by American. There are several systems built into commercial aircraft that make it very difficult to stall.

    There is a slim to none chance that aircraft came anywhere near a stall. For one, the deck angle on a transport airplane at a stall is nearing 30 degrees. Secondly, notwithstanding that the pilots have 20, 30, 40, 50 thousand hours of flight experience between them, the airplane has first a stick shaker to alert the pilots of an impending stall, and if that is ignored, the stick pusher will shortly thereafter forcibly command forward pitch. Last, on the modern airplanes with fly by wire technology, the computers will NOT LET YOU command a stall. You have to switch to an uncompensated mode to pitch up that steep. On a commercial flight you will be nowhere near a stall barring some horrible scenario. And oh yes, I spent five years as a flight instructor and eight as an airline pilot. But nice vid.

      Its a nice video but how can you be certain you almost stalled?

    • @damonlang1185
      @damonlang1185 8 лет назад +2

      +Vincent Kwang This is steep, but nowhere near steep enough to stall. The speed at which this aircraft takes off at, in this case a Boeing 737-800, is usually 140 knots. The engines this aircraft uses are very powerful, making the chance of you falling out of the sky very unlikely. Also, the pilots use something called 'Autothrottle'. This is controlled by a computer onboard the aircraft, and controls the speed. The pilots are warned by a vibration in the control yokes when they are approaching a stall, in that sort of event the autopilot automatically disengages and the pilots push the nose down, allowing them to gain speed, allowing the aircraft to generate lift and get out of the stall.
      Other than that, great video, love the plane!

    • @monstermash7465
      @monstermash7465 8 лет назад +1

      AbstractAviator RBLX Totally. I actually am a pilot and have flown 737-800 and even 747 on occasion. I can say our knot ratio for takeoff is the FAA norm and our v1, v2 takeoff always pitches us up at 10 to sometimes 20 degrees.

      Monster Mash Yeah, i'm currently in the process of learning how to fly the 738 on Flight Simulator X. What's the average takeoff speed?

    • @monstermash7465
      @monstermash7465 8 лет назад

      AbstractAviator RBLX 738? For the 737 its about a safe 145-160 knots. Have engines at full power, flaps set to 5 and then pitch the nose up to 20 degrees and back to 10 degrees at 1,000 miles up. Bring up flaps and slow down and engage autopilot. I love FSX and have learned an awful lot from it. I can handle most of the aircraft over long voyages and countries. The 747 is my favorite and is pretty powerful. The 737 is the most comfortable though. The take-off speed for that is a healthy 195 knots.
