- Saturday, October 7, 2023, was the final day of Coach USA ONE Bus’s operations of the 24, 31, and 44 lines in Essex(24, 31, 44)/Union Counties(24). I caught all three lines on their final day, video of that will be uploaded this Saturday. Today, October 9, 2023, was the first day of NJTransit and Academy Operations of the 24, 31, and 44. Ironbound, Hilton, Orange, and Academy are split with the 24. The 31 is out of Hilton and the 44 is out of Big Tree. We took the 24 to Erie Loop in Orange, 6264 (Orange), to Jersey Gardens 6043 (Ironbound). This year has been an interesting year for Transit, let’s call this the NJT Take Over Era. I still haven’t uploaded videos of the few month old lines that replaced the DeCamp ones, I’ll get to that soon. But for now, let’s enjoy this new era as service is bound to get better with more demand.

Thank you for watching.
Rest in Peace, ONE Bus.
Thanks for sharing, I can't wait to board them one day as NJ Transit. I did check their website, I also looked closely at their exterior, and it's unlikely that Academy is operating the lines, because of a $20 million dollar settlement for a breach of contract against NJ Transit as they're barred as a vender. As for the O.N.E. a COACH USA Company goes they still operate under contract with NJ Transit as NJ Transit Bus #2, 84, & 88 at Journal Square in Jersey City. Speaking of Jersey City another private bus company is about to cease operations on Saturday October 28th, 2023 as NJ Transit will takeover the four private bus lines #30, 31, 32, & 33 operated and owned by the A&C Bus Company.
I'm just surprised that NJT brought buses from Newton Ave, Washington Township, and Hamilton, to do the 24. Though it is temporary until NJT hires more guys for the 24.
Also the codes and destination signs are still being processed under NJT I'm hearing. Hopefully its updated by the next pick change.
The 24 bus routes are much better with njt than they were with coach usa, I rode the 24J to jersey gardens mall today and the 24H on my way back from the mall, and wow both of those rides were amazing. The buses from both rides did NOT have a strong smell like the coach usa 24s had. They also run way better with njt than they did with coach.
I am so glad the 24 routes switched to njt, coach usa's service sucked, it was a shity company, and plus its buses had a strong smell, which both of the njt 24s i rode today did NOT have, and besides that njt's service is far more superior and a way better company, and these are all the reasons why njt is way better than how coach usa was and also all the reasons why im glad the 24 routes switched to njt.
Wow. I grew up in Newark and the Oranges around the 24, 31 and 44 bus lines. To think how they've gone mostly from PSCT, to private operators, and now back with the public (NJT). Circle of transit life, I suppose.

24 can now be tracked on NJT app.
Can you please show more these?
I like how the 24 just says "24" and nothing else.
The full codes haven’t been programmed yet.
@@njbusguy779 I wonder how long will that take, because we commuters need to know *exactly* where which bus's terminus is *at all times.*
@@njbusguy779 Maybe that's why it's not on the NJT website or app yet.

Nice, huh?
@@brian_njtransit Why? It should be like the NJ Transit signage so that we don’t get confused. The way Coach USA had it was crappy and corny.
Why the number look like that
