He also blew that 3-1 lead. They could've been the one who beat the 73-9 warriors then maybe beat cavs also. THAT would've put KD in some serious talks fr. Cause from that point on, they could've had a dynasty on their hands. 2017 and 2018, cavs were gradually getting weaker. Warriors wouldn't have been so dominant without KD in it. Klay or steph would've been injured much earlier than 2019 for klay and 2020 for steph. That would put KD and the Thunder in much better position to win multiple rings.

People have more respect for the ONE title that Dirk Nowitzki won in 2011 and Giannis won in 2021 over Durant’s 2 easy rings because those other players led and carried their teams while Durant coasted with the greatest regular season team ever and an already champion that almost won back to back without him.

Tbh the warriors could have won a chip even without the kd trade and kept harrison barnes. Dame joining the bucks, lebron joining the heat, dwight first stint joining the lakers. They all joined a playoff team that had finals success with a prime MVP that lead them. Among these only lebron at least won in different teams to at least be in the goat debate but the players who switched to an already good team with an mvp dimishes value and contribution. Dirk, giannis, and jokic are not even in the goat debate (yet maybe soon), and they stayed with their teams and bus drove to the chip.
LeBron and Dwight are in no way similar to KD or Dame by your own logic. Wade WAS NOT in his prime neither was Kobe. They were both still very good, but unlike Steph and Giannis, neither was still capable of leading a team as Batman.
Cavs would've got at least one more without KD in GSW.

I mean tbh, Warrior did have their downs. Even after the chip, they had problem with offense late in 4th quarter because some of the vets are not there no more to push with the second unit.
When KD joined. They basically fixed that problem and scoring was effortless for the whole team. I be honest and say Warrior wouldn't have won those 2 without KD either. I'm not saying Warriors was bad, but they was not as consistent for a good long stretch with the second unit at the time right before KD joined. Warriors fans knows what I'm talking about.

Unless KD drives your own franchise to the top of the World like MJ, Cavs LeBron, Kobe 2010, Curry 2022 or Kawhi 2019, he will never have his name mentioned in that conversation.

Steph’s my favorite of the generation of players born from the early 80s to late 90s (so millennials kinda I guess). Steph is just the dude, incredibly skilled but humble and usually pretty psychologically reliable and strong. Lebron don’t got it, KD don’t got it, hell we’ll see about Luka but he didn’t have it in the Finals, but he’s young and can get a pass for now but we’ll see how he reacts to it, if he’s gonna get serious and get his health and preparedness and talent and effort on high ends and mind set and endurance all right and bring it to the next level? We’ll see. I do think he needs a better coaching stuff/analyst crew, etc. - Boston clearly smoked them in that department and that was the difference really. Yeah Jalen Brown’s defense was crucial but their team defense and schemes are what made a lot of that possible. It’ll be cool to see what Luka is made off, if he’s gonna take after MJ and Kobe or if he’s gonna play the crybaby LeBron game. He could learn a little from Steph.

Too many variables but the fact the warriors had max cap space it’s realistic to assume they could’ve either got another top player or a few quality role players and went back and beat the cavs team that they went a 7 game series with.
