It's why young children don't typically develop feelings for others of the opposite or same gender when they are simply too young to understand those types of feelings. Maybe there are exceptions in which people mature faster and understand feelings better, but it doesn't mean that they are at the appropriate age to act on those feelings and pursue those relationships. That's just my perspective.

if i'm being honest, lgbt+ people just don't get to see themselves represented in media very often, so much so that, when we see subtext or relate heavily to certain characters we latch onto them. it's not "omg two girls together they're gay!!" it's more "i see myself or my partner or my friends or family in these characters and I think they'd make a super cute couple". If i'm being more honest, it's a little ignorant to assume that we're all just being childish, we just want to feel seen and heard. there are very few instances where I see genuine and good lgbt representation, especially in kids shows. it's just really comforting to be able to find something we all like and relate to and find more community members within that.

So I am one of these people who don't really ship the three girls with one or the other. As much as I respect your ships (just, pls no sexual things and poly relationships), I have really appreciated the show as a message of toxic friendships and forgiveness, particularly those for girls. Cause honestly a lot of teen girls go through such dramas and issues with one another and I see Amphibia with the sole purpose of connecting with just that. Storytime: I was once in a friend group during my junior high days and i was really comfortable with most of them, but there was one girl who was apparently a distant relative of mine. She was besties with my besties, and then we would also call each other bestie. She was tall, popular, and campus crush. I was none of that. It would have all been okay if she didn't have such a bitchy attitude. We did have great moments together, but I remember cowering in fear during those days because of her. I WAS SCARED OF SOMEONE IN OUR CIRCLE. So scared and uncomfortable that every morning on my way to school, I would actually say a silent prayer that she wouldn't make me uncomfortable throughout the day and that time would go quickly. She would play the relative card on me when I refuse to do something for her, or use the fact that she's the youngest in the group and that we should care for her. Saying no to her was scary. When I do something that she doesn't like, she would look down on me with annoyance. There was a time where we paired up for a beauty care project. We were supposed to paint each other's nails following a specific technique, but me being the non-pretty girl was sloppy in doing so. It was my first time. But the way she looked at me and pointed at my lack of skill almost made me cry and I couldnt get my voice out. Luckily, a classmate of ours noticed us and told her to not be harsh, to which she said that its for me to learn how to be better. After four years in that school, I left to pursue a career that my former school didnt offer. Although that's one of the reasons, I mainly transferred schools for senior high to get away from her. I have met better people from then on and I had a healthier image of myself then. Amphibia spoke to me as something healthy bff relationships should have, and I would love it if it remains it that way. Focusing with healthy bff relationships.

I don't think these scenes depict any type of attraction to women going on. Sasha could very well be lesbian (just looked it up, she's bi), but it's not evident she's attracted to Anne in a romantic way. This looks platonic. Honestly, all of the interactions between Anne, Sasha, and Marcy seem that way too. I'm kind of annoyed how no one can just accept platonic relationships between same sex friends and even opposite sex friends.
I'm not even talking about the friends to lovers thing either (cannon relationships, straight or gay). I'm talking about the fans wanting to force something that isn't cannon by saying things like "Anne and Marcy are gay. just watch these 5 seconds from this one episode". If you ship any of these girls together, that's fine. Just don't shove it down my throat that it's "confirmed" if it's not officially.

if i'm being honest, lgbt+ people just don't get to see themselves represented in media very often, so much so that, when we see subtext or relate heavily to certain characters we latch onto them. it's not "omg two girls together they're gay!!" it's more "i see myself or my partner or my friends or family in these characters and I think they'd make a super cute couple". If i'm being more honest, it's a little ignorant to assume that we're all just being childish, we just want to feel seen and heard. there are very few instances where I see genuine and good lgbt representation, especially in kids shows. it's just really comforting to be able to find something we all like and relate to and find more community members within that.

So I am one of these people who don't really ship the three girls with one or the other. As much as I respect your ships (just, pls no sexual things and poly relationships), I have really appreciated the show as a message of toxic friendships and forgiveness, particularly those for girls. Cause honestly a lot of teen girls go through such dramas and issues with one another and I see Amphibia with the sole purpose of connecting with just that.
Storytime:
I was once in a friend group during my junior high days and i was really comfortable with most of them, but there was one girl who was apparently a distant relative of mine. She was besties with my besties, and then we would also call each other bestie. She was tall, popular, and campus crush. I was none of that. It would have all been okay if she didn't have such a bitchy attitude.
We did have great moments together, but I remember cowering in fear during those days because of her. I WAS SCARED OF SOMEONE IN OUR CIRCLE. So scared and uncomfortable that every morning on my way to school, I would actually say a silent prayer that she wouldn't make me uncomfortable throughout the day and that time would go quickly. She would play the relative card on me when I refuse to do something for her, or use the fact that she's the youngest in the group and that we should care for her. Saying no to her was scary. When I do something that she doesn't like, she would look down on me with annoyance. There was a time where we paired up for a beauty care project. We were supposed to paint each other's nails following a specific technique, but me being the non-pretty girl was sloppy in doing so. It was my first time. But the way she looked at me and pointed at my lack of skill almost made me cry and I couldnt get my voice out. Luckily, a classmate of ours noticed us and told her to not be harsh, to which she said that its for me to learn how to be better.
After four years in that school, I left to pursue a career that my former school didnt offer. Although that's one of the reasons, I mainly transferred schools for senior high to get away from her. I have met better people from then on and I had a healthier image of myself then.
Amphibia spoke to me as something healthy bff relationships should have, and I would love it if it remains it that way. Focusing with healthy bff relationships.

all that ship thing was OVERBLOWN ahah, i personally never shipped them anyway cuz the following list: 1 anne and marcy know each other since childhood , and than here comes sasha and ok. 2 Anne Marcy and Sasha (all 3) bushed each other (anne 1 time when marcy was a wartwood , 1 marcy when she say in newtopia that sometimes she can't do eye contact and sasha some times in season 3 with anne , but i think cuz it was embarassed.) 3 Sasha manipuleted Anne for A WHILE and she stabbed her and tried to kill her multiple times, without any "worried" moment when she was about to do so. Of course things have changed , Sasha changed , but that SashAnne was never a thing , anne was always a good best friend for her and so was sasha , sometimes sasha looked sad while hugging her ok but cuz she caused so much pain to her, not for a "i'm hugging you with a smile while i secretly love you and that makes me sad" , i mean there was never CLEAR HINTS for THAT so yeah.
